   The restaurant was very busy but our service from Brandon and his team was still very efficient. Everything we had was excellent. Midtown Bistro continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe.

   Finally ate @Midtown Bistro during restaurant week. The entrees were delicious! Fetuccini with lobster asparagus, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and pesto a lively surprise. Husband’s Osso Bucco was also appreciated. Salads were good but watercress root veggie salad could have included some lettuce. Chocolate cake was dry but icing yummy. Service was good except for second drink. Regular prices are mighty high but we may return for entrees!

    We love this lace and have frequently eaten there. However, this experience was certainly not up to par! We went on Monday of restaurant week. One of us had the crab cake entree, which was the size of an appetizer. The other had the prime rib. The flavor was great…the meat looked fried and was so tough I could not eat it! The tres leches cake looked and tasted like a yellow cake mix…no layers. The pie piece was tiny. All in all, we had a terrible food experience!!!

    My son and I had a really nice dinner. The waiter was pleasant and informative. It was restaurant week. I had planned meal of mushroom soup, veal osso buco, chocolate moose. All were delicious and enough to take home for lunch. My son had half rack on the regular menu. He wasn't very hungry. It looked really good and lamb was medium rare as he requested. It took a little longer than usual to get our main dishes. The place was busy. However, we requested that no one be seated next to us. The host said he would try and he was successful!

    Good as always. This time got a quiet table because we went to a 1:30 lunch when many were leaving. The chef is willing to adjust the daily pasta to eliminate cream sauce; much appreciated!

    The food was excellent, all four courses. Service was a little slow to start with, but it improved as the meal progressed. (It was Valentine’s Day.) overall it was a very enjoyable dinner.

    The place is very small, it was over 100 dollars for 2 entrees that were quite small. Service was curt and unfriendly. Overpriced, and overall not worth the trip.

    We were surprised to learn that the New Year’ Eve dinner was pre fixe. That is probably our fault though. Our wait was minimal and we enjoyed visiting with the bartender during that time. She is a delightful person. A tiny criticism: both the mushroom soup and the risotto need salt. The tres leches cake was the biggest hit. The elk tenderloin was good. We will return.

    To be fair, it was a very busy NYE prefix menu….but that does not excuse very watered down Chopin vodka rocks nor Chopin martini 🍸😒. The baby arugula with goat cheese & apple was great. The special Caesar no flavor . While the elk was good, it was not medium rare as requested and the ribeye steak was very grisely. Chocolate cake as nice. We’ve had far better here before. Host is always personable.

    Midtown was excellent as always. Delilah did a nice job as our server. The chicken taquitos are a great appetizer and, in my opinion, the fish and chips are the best in Santa Fe.

    We had an early dinner prior to attending a concert. My wife ordered the soup and I had the tuna tartare. Both were excellent. My wife ordered the half rack of lamb and I ordered the stuffed chicken breast. The lamb came out rare instead of medium rare and so it was sent back to the kitchen for a quick fire. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The stuffing was piled on the breast under the skin instead of stuffed. I mentioned this to the server who offered another item but given time constraints I deferred. No other offer was presented. I found the sauce to be quite strong and overcame the chicken instead of enhancing it. We ordered the chocolate cake and the carrot cake to go. Chocolate cake was quite good. We will return but will be more careful and less accepting of poorly prepared items.
