Food was pretty good. Service was just ok. Our server gave us the feeling we were an after thought. Noise level was pretty high, but restaurant was full as was the bar.
Great food, especially the appetizers. Deep-fried avocado spears...amazing!! Excellent steak, mac and cheese, and drinks. Highly recommend this lively, delicious pub.
Great food, steak cooked perfectly! Great service. Great atmosphere. Just a bit pricy.
The restaurant was nice but for a Tuesday night the wait for our food was too long. We were seated at 6:15 and didn't get our entree's until around 8:15
Food was great as always, one of my favorite places
A lovely evening to celebrate my daughter
One if my favorites in Lincoln Center. We've had Chris as our server several times. Impeccable service! Always a pleasure!
Went there for my wedding anniversary. Service was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful. Nice lil gem in Lincoln Center! Loved it and we will be back. So awesome never having to go into the Bay!!!
Ordered 1/2 rack of lamb (med rare) came to table well done. Sent back. Took over 30
minutes to re-fire. By the time it came back others at our table where done with their meals.
By that time I didn’t want anything. I wanted to pay the bill and go!
Note: 7:00 pm on a Thursday night. Asked to speak to the manager. Was informed manager didn’t
come in. The server came up and said “ not that you’ll come back? Here’s a $50.00 gift certificate.”
Not coming back is the one thing they got right!
First time here recommended by co-workers. Food was delicious and our waiter Chris was phenomenal.
Prime rib special was cold and poor quality. Sending back for warmup didn't help. Filet ordered medium rare was well done. Worse, overpriced meal in memory.
The entree menu is rather limited.
The offerings they do have, they do quite well. But for an upscale restaurant, the entree menu should be a bit more robust.
Great food and experience! I had the ribeye and my better half had the special barrel roasted prime rib... servers attentive... also had the fresh pork chicarons...
Everything was great! The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent! Manager Brian Soria always makes it a point to stop by our table and make us feel welcome. Our waiter, Chris Wells made sure we were well taken care of. Could not have been a better night out!
The place wasn’t busy at all but our waitress was nowhere to be found throughout our time there. We finished eating and patiently waited over 20 minutes for someone to come over and to ask how we are doing or if we needed our checks. But nope, like I said above our waitress never dropped by to check on us so our whole group walked to hostess and asked for our check. That’s when the waitress finally got out of the back room ( I believe it’s an employee lounge) and asked if we needed anything. We kindly told her no and that we got this. Since we were a group of 8 gratitude was automatically applied. I wouldn’t have left her any tip (besides do a better job) for such a horrible service.
Also, if the waitress/waiter ask if you would like to add side lobsters tail please be sure to ask her/him for the price. I made the mistake for not asking and paid $47 for a 3” long lobster tail which was about the same price as my ribeye dinner.
Happy hour, bar area, drinks and college football! Always a great time with great food and service
I had the chili - always a good choice and a salad. Both good delicious and almost too much food. My guest had the seafood risotto and loved it. The service was wonderful.
I'm very disappointed! Because I already made the reservased for 2 people August 23, Friday night at 7:30 pm for the anniversary with my husband. We went there and looking forward there have a wonderful dinner and the 2 young ladies said there no my name there the reservation!? I showed them my proof confirmed number with my name the email. They said no .. we ended up went different restaurant. My friend told me about the midgley restaurant supposed be amazing that's why was looking forward there guess not successful.
Midgley’s was, as usual, exceptional! My favorite restaurant in Stockton !!!
Exactly what I was looking for.. a nice restaurant for our anniversary with great food and excellent service. Thank you !
My wife and I were there for our 58th anniversary. We both ordered the dinner special (caesar salad,
New York steak and cheesecake for dessert) -- all for $35. each!! The steak was a very large, thick cut and had a mushroom sauce that was to die for -- absolutely delicious. The waiter took our order promptly and checked with us often to be sure that we were totally satisfied. The only negative -- the ceiling seemed a bit low and we had two groups near us that were loudly enjoying themselves. It was difficult carry on our conversation.
Excellent food, great waiter, ambiance is wonderful.
We love this place!
Food was absolutely delicious and staff was super awesome!!
I was pleasantly surprised,, I had no idea that a restaurant like this existed in Stockton LOL
Let’s just start with the drinks
they were absolutely amazing
And then the appetizers we’re incredible
In the main course was awesome
I am a total foodie
And I must say at this place would do great in all the high-end places of the world
Original and great thought process
I will definitely drive out of my way to make sure I keep going back to this place
It was a fun birthday lunch with girlfriends!
We were seated outside and enjoying the music and cocktails after ordering our dinner. I ordered a 8 oz filet; when it came the asparagus was under the mashed potatoes and sauce which was under the steak. This required separating the items; the asparagus was covered and soaked in potatoes and they were not edible, plus the plate was a mess. The waitress came by a nd I asked her to replace it so that the asparagus was crisp; she told me “that’s how we do it” in rude voice. I replied that I was paying a lot of money that I still wanted it re-plated. She took the plate and silver ware; A short time later another person brought it back and dropped in front off and dashed off without word and without silverware. I could not get our waiters attention so I finally asked someone else for a Knife and fork. Some time went by before our waiter came by and asked if things were all right. I expressed my frustration with how the meal was returned to me; she responded , “well, the other person was only a food runner so that was normal”.
I understand that some restaurants stack dishes; it is not something I care for but usually don’t say anything . In this case the asparagus was made inedible (my wife’s asparagus was outstanding). What I don’t understand is having the waitress argue and try to justify how the meal presented rather than saying “not a problem, we can do that”. I also cannot understand way she would also justify rude behavior by an employee because “they were just a food runner!”
The time I feel like spending $47 on a steak, I will go around the corner to Prime Table where the steaks are better and service is impeccable!
First day of school
Great food and wine served by very personable and knowledgeable waitress - Shannon, I think. Will definitely be back.
Food was great, service excellent, waiter led into everything including after dinner drinks.
A little confusing at beginning but ended well
Overall the dinner was ok. The noise level was rather loud and I found myself speaking rather loudly to the person sitting right next to me. The appetizer was the asparagus cigars which was the best part of the meal. The seafood food pasta and ribeye was just okay. The old fashioned cocktail had a mint leaf in it, not sure why??? I will be not be going back anytime soon.
We have eaten before at Midgley’s for dinner and enjoyed it. My son ate the tomahawk ribeye, and it was quite entertaining. We took out of town friends for lunch, and they were extremely impressed. They have been told that it was extremely pricey. This was not true it was right in line with all the other fine dining establishments. We were seated immediately. We had fantastic service. The food arrived in a very short time and was so beautifully presented It all tasted as good as it looked. Stockton is fortunate enough to have such an outstanding restaurant with an extremely gifted chef. I pray it stays for a long long time. I would recommend it to anyone who truly appreciates delicious food. It is top quality.
Exception service in a relaxed and elegant setting made for a wonderful evening. Enjoyed the scallop risotto and lobster with cocktails and sparkling wine. We knew we had to spend the night in Stockton, and visiting Midgley's made it much more enjoyable.
It took some time get our wine and drinks and we had to wait to reorder a second round but I believe that was do to some confusion since other table order the same drinks. But overall a good experience
Not sure why it’s taken so long to try this place. Probably bc I really don’t care for Ernies and assumed it would be similar. I was incorrect! This place is fabulous. Service was relaxed but still top end. Calamari was super tender and not rubbery. We both had salads. I had muscles and the hubs had a steak. Even the French fries were outstanding. Cocktails on point and wine list was anywhere from super affordable to a bit out of our range. We settled for mid range cab that we knew well. Looking forward to going back for happy hour on the patio when it’s not 100 degrees at 6:30pm. It was a great experience.
We love to eat on the patio and have the Sun-Thurs dinner special. This week it was Caesar Salad, NY Strip Steak and Carmel Cheesecake. $35, a good deal. Nice wine selection and fairly reasonable.
Food is always tasty and fresh. I love the patio.
We went to Midgleys for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. At first, it seemed like everything would be great. We had made a reservation and were seated right on time. The women that were bussing the tables were very nice and brought us water. But, our server didn't come by our table for quite some time. When he finally did, he was rude. We ordered cocktails and wanted to order an appetizer, but he walked away before we could. Then, instead of the cocktails, he brought beer. We tried to get his attention, but he didn't seem interested. When he finally came back, we let him know that we had the wrong drinks, and placed our appetizer order. After getting the correct drinks, he then said "oh, did I already tell you the specials?"
He hadn't. We placed our dinner order, and waited. Our appetizer was really good. Our meals were underseasoned. I ordered the ribeye steak and lobster tail. While it was cooked well, it had no taste. My husband ordered the rack of lamb and noted the same about his meal. Our waiter never stopped by the table again. The other women working refilled our drinks and cleared our plates. He finally came back to ask if we wanted dessert, which we did not, after this experience. We just wanted to pay our tab and get out of there.
I had the mussels and frites. It was nothing special and too salty for my taste. My husband had the salmon which was superb. The seafood pasta was enjoyed by my eldest son, easily could have been made at home. When we dine out, we look for dishes that are something special, not something I can make. There were no specials on this particular Wednesday evening, otherwise I would have ordered something different than the mussels. We probably will not be back for a while until the menu changes.
