Mideastro is Mediterranean restaurant in Yorkville, Ontario. Fine-dining and elegance can both be found at this restaurant. With its rich natural toned colors, gorgeous wine storage racks, wooden booths and leather seats, the whole dining area is pleasing to the eye. It's a nice place for a romantic evening date with someone special or a fancy meet-up with your friends or family.
Cuisine at the Mideastro includes a large selection of small plates as well as a variety of full entrees for guests to choose from. True to the tradition of most genuine Mediterranean food, Mideastro makes their dishes with fresh vegetables and cooks sauces and other accompaniments from scratch. Guests who prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan meals have many choices to accommodate their desires. Popular dishes are the restaurant include the quail pastilla, lamb kufta and the black truffle risotto.
I ordered the fish of the day. It was overlooked and dried out. Also too salty. The roasted kale in the plate was inedible as it was so salty that it had to have been cooked in water from the Dead Sea.
Given the pricing and the fact that this was the fish of the day it is inexcusable.
Moreover no one came by during the meal to see if everything was OK.
Rather shameful behavior by a restaurant of this caliber.

We were three for dinner, staying nearby and visiting Toronto from the US. We enjoyed our meal. Food was very well prepared, the owners were very helpful and on their game. It was quiet, we can't understand why it wasn't more crowded. But we enjoyed that it was quiet as we wanted to talk and were able to do so.
If you re in downtown Toronto, this is a lovely spot for dinner.

We are from out of town and decided to try Mideastro based on the reviews and the content location across from the Four Seasons hotel, and what a great decision!!! The genuine and excellent service provided by Charles was unparalleled, he even had Chef James come out to explain our main course at the table ( the Cornish Hen was Devine!)... We will be coming back!

The place was empty when we entered so my first impression was ohoh! However the energetic and overly gracious server/host made us feel at ease. He took our drink orders and told the evenings specials. We shared a salad which was large and easily enough for two and very good.
The Cornish hen which we thought would be spicy lacked that flavour of Moroccan tagine as was promoted. The cast iron rib steak was thin two pieces which the server brought in a 6" cast iron pan...obviously not cooked in it. It was lackluster and soso in flavour.
All in all we were disappointed. The whole time we were there six other guests arrived. Obviously not that popular a spot in Yorkville. On the return to the hotel many other restaurant were overflowing with people.
Five Stars are not enough for this restaurant. Our waiter was charming and very attentive. He had a great memory for our order including modifications we requested. He took our gentle ribbing with a smile and great dignity. He answered all of our questions, including the phenomenal music that was playing, in as much depth as we required.
Since most of us were from out of town we had not heard of Medeastro before. We had a friendly greeting and were seated in a comfortable spot near the entrance with great attention paid to us by 4 maybe 5 wait staff. Charles, the manager, was great a describing the dishes and making recommendations. We tried the fix priced meal and each picked different entres/mains. I think this menu was unique from their regular menu and it was hard to choose between the too. All 3 courses were delicious, especially the fish dish and hazelnut parfait. I recommend this to groups as well as to those looking for a romantic night out.
Great presentation and friendly staff and very cool menus, you will have to see for yourself, don't want to give away the surprise.
I had a lovely dinner here with my mother. We ate at Mideastro on the last night of our vacation.
My mum had the seafood platter and she adored it; she was disappointed we hadn't found the restaurant earlier in our trip.
I had the risotto and it was delicious. The highlight for me though was the complimentary breads and dip at the start of the meal. We were given Babba Ganoush as well as humus and salsa. The baba gaoush was AMAZING! I ate the entire thing and I was offered more, was tempted to take some home to Ireland with me
The restaurant decor was lovely and the staff were really attentive and also great craic, I appreciated the genuine service approach there was none of that fake niceness just really genuinely friendly staff.
It happened to be really quiet the night we were there, but the experience and food were great. If i'm ever back in Toronto I'd definitely return.
Mideastro is an excellent high-end restaurant. Unlike many higher-end restaurants in Toronto, there are generous portions served, and the food is reliably delicious. The service and ambiance are also fantastic. It is a bit pricey for an everyday meal, but it is definitely worth it for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.
Overall very mediocre. Would have expected more for the price.
This place is a gem! From the wine list choices, food, décor and personalized service. I would recommend Mideastro Yorkville to anyone visiting and to the locals. Will definitely go back next time I'm back in Toronto.
We sat outside on a summer evening and were almost their only customers, which was hard to understand as the food was uniformly excellent (halibut tagine, lamb chops) and attractively prepared. The waiter recommended a very reasonable dry Spanish red which we enjoyed. They were very generous with the houmous, babaghanoush etc which accompanied the bread. And all this (4 entrees, 2 large salads each big enough for a couple to share, wine and a free dessert for the birthday boy) was only $200. Highly recommended.
Appeared to be recently renovated or opened. No-one else was in the restaurant, so really lacked in ambiance. Calamari appetizer was good. Main dishes were ok. They did not know their wines at all. Left with an overall sense that this place will not be around for long in spite of all that seemed to be invested in the physical space.
Overall, a disappointing experience especially considering we have dined here in the past. Gluten free options stated on the menu weren't available. No explanation given. Ceviche turned out to be cubes of fish w halved grape tomatoes. Mains arrived cold and bland. Dessert offered forty - five minutes after plates cleared. We expected more
Best sea food platter ever, Braised lamb shank pasta was way tooooooo gooood.
The food and the service was excellent. I would come back any time and it is highly recommended.
Not sure if he was the owner or not, but there was one man (bald) who was such an amazing host. He waste reason I enjoyed my birthday. I'll most definetly be returning.
