Mideastro Thornhill is a contemporary Italian-Mediterranean restaurant with an interior decorated in a royal style with iridescent candles and golden chandeliers with subdued yet defined décor that creates a very distinct dining experience. The manager John also makes it a point to visit each and every table, introduce himself to the patrons and enquire about their meal.
Mideastro Thornhill's chef is considered an expert in preparing lamb shank, spaghetti bolognese, squid ink linguine and frito misto. Mideastro Thornhill is very selective when it comes to its drinks as well, with a vast range of craft beers on taps, authentic wine pairings with the meal and even artisanal cocktails prepared by the bartenders present here. The Nutella banana dessert is considered a novelty of this restaurant.
Lamb Shank - superb. Tender and flavourful. Spaghetti Bolognese was personal order, not on the menu tonight, provided cheerfully just for my husband. Manager John was friendly and welcoming. This is now our favourite local spot.
We got there on time for a 6:00 reservation. This gave us one and a half hours to have our dinner before attending the theatre across the street. The show was at 7:30. We ordered our food within the first 15 minutes of arriving . Our appetizers salads took half an hour to get to us. We never received the rest of our meal within the allotted remaining time and left the restaurant without receiving our meal . We were completely disappointed and frustrated by the time we left and will never return to this restaurant again they were rude and not understanding and completely ignored us when they knew we were rushing to get out.
It was an important dinner to us as we were entertaining my sons new girlfriend and this did not leave a very good lasting impression on her or us . We will not return.
We enjoyed our dinner at Mideastro, but the chef definitely used too much salt. Service was excellent, nice ambiance.
Calamari and shrimp were really tender. Tasty and well prepared pasta, Papardelli and the Carbonara were just right al dente and well seasoned. Nutella Parfait was not a Parfait, creme anglais was barely a hint, but still enjoyable. Service was excellent, food was served in a very timely manner, Manager was friendly and pleasant to speak with.
everything was very good but it took a very long time for the food to come out. we had to ask for bread because we were starving. the ambiance, décor and setting was lovely and the wait staff very courteous. all of us enjoyed the experience but it took over an hour to get our food--too long. we will return and we enjoyed the specials that they had,
We usually don't write reviews, but this one is well deserved. Dined here with friends and had an amazing time. Our server (manager?) was engaging and knowledgeable and made great recommendations, and the food was so good we just had to share all dishes. We ordered salads and pizza to start - all of which were great. The squid ink linguine came without squid ink but the server explained some people were off-put by black pasta... and it was just as well because it was delicious without.
It seemed quiet for a Sunday, but maybe just because of the long weekend.
In short, just a gem of a restaurant. We will definitely return.
The service was excellent and the food was great. I would highly recommend Mideastro to anyone looking for an amazing dinning experience.
The restaurant itself is nice inside.
The service was a bit slow.
The waiter said he wouldn't recommend a particular item on the menu, which was kind of a surprise and should've been an indication of what was to come.
The food was sub-par. The homemade pasta was over cooked, poorly seasoned and lightly dressed.
Many of the offered items weren't available.
The music didn't seem to fit the space.
I wouldn't return here.
Really enjoyed the inventive menu items and flavourful tastes. The service was great and the staff are knowledgeable. Will definitely go again.
Great local find. Service was fantastic as was the food. Will recommend to all our friends.
