Mickey & Mooch-Lake Norman
It was my wife’s birthday. When I made the reservations, I made note of that. The waiter, Matthew made no mention to my wife, that it was her birthday.
Mickey and Mooch is always great. Their wine pour is very generous and service is good too. Servings are generous and everything is tasty!
We really enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent! Large portions... and prompt refills on drinks.
We had the Prime filet and it was excellent. Sides are very large portions, perfect for sharing.
Always a great experience! And the service is outstanding!
Came for mother’s day. We all had a variety of things but the crab cakes were really good.
Great food and service as usual. Their professional style makes a expensive meal
no problem. The seafood dishes are outstanding.
Great food and service! A little pricey but worth it!
Mother’s Day Brunch.
The regular food was very good as usual and the service exceptional. Unfortunately, the new brunch special, a Crab Benedict was overdone. The wait staff noticed, took action quickly to replace and the manager comped the dish. The collars Sal crab dinner was fantastic and the sides were great. All in all a good experience, we will continue to recommend and return.
this was my first time dining here. I enjoyed my food, and appreciated the great service from our waitress.
We typically love this place but seems like they have fallen off a bit with a 95 sanitation score and service was rough. We were seated and waited ten minutes before our server showed up. Luckily we already had drinks from the bar. I ordered a second glass of wine in fear it would take them another 30 to get back to us. The server dumped part of my first glass of Sauvignon Blanc into my second order of chardonnay before I could stop her. The poor thing freaked out when I told her they were different but I cannot recall any other place doing that. She was really sweet and was good once our order was placed though. In their defense it was busy but I expect with the price tag and how long they've been around that they can handle the high volume. I'm hoping for a bounce back on a place we call one of our favorites
I would not recommend Mickey and Mooch because the table and seat were nasty when we arrived. We could not sit down. The waiter seemed irritated because we asked him to clean the table and seats. For the price you pay at am establishment like this cleanliness should be the very last complaint. However, I ordered the crab cake and salmon. The crab cake was the best I have ever had. I would not go back because of the dirty seats and table. Especially since we drove an hour to get there.
Amazing food and amazing service!! Matthew was very patient with us and was very understanding even after we spilled 3 drinks at our table!!
Loved it! Generous portions, great service!
Great evening to celebrate our 48th anniversary. Mickey & Mooch is our go-to place for celebrations
First time here and it was a perfect dinner date. Our server Charles was great and the food was delicious.
Always great food. Waitress was very friendly and helpful and also had a great personality. M & M is such good value for the money.
We love this restaurant! Never ever had a bad meal there. Service is wonderful. The ambiance is nice, but the noise level can become very loud later in thee evening, especially if you’re sitting closer to the bar. My only complaint would be that the banquet seats dip, and are very ucomfortable-no lumbar support, you just seem to slide into them. My suggestion would be throw pillows to provide some back support for those seated in the banquets.
The food is always superior with large portions. I highly recommend the tilapia with crab or the salmon with crab cakes...you can’t go wrong! They have a plentiful wine list and yummy desserts. We were fortunate that a band was playing when we left so we got to listen to great music and dance a bit. Hope that group plays more frequently (Soul Solutions). Overall, we had a great night. Love this place!!!
I used to frequent this restaurant many years ago and was looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, that was not to be..
The restaurant atmosphere has changed a lot - noticeably quieter and less of a “buzz”. Decor looking tired.
Service OK - our waiter was friendly enough but we were disappointed on a number of occasions- appetiser not served (forgotten), drinks choice not available and other small things.
The food was pretty good - my steak was cooked as orders and tasted great.
Overall though, in terms of experience and value for money, there will be better places for certain- maybe the reason why the bookings are down. Shame as this used to be my favourite restaurant
Calamari was fried too much and didnt have much of a flavor. Noise was very loud due to prom groups.
Dana was awesome server. Kitchen crew was on point. And bartender was making delicious cocktails!
Conveniently we got a reservation on open table 1hr after we made it in a Friday night. Most everyone ordered steaks and they were cooked to their satisfaction. A bit pricey and to noisy to have a romantic date but was fine for our group of 6.
Food was delicious. Servings were adequate and presentation was very good. Overall we had a great experience. We all agreed...yes..we will all go back again..thank you
Everything we ordered was delicious. . . great food and service!
I took my husband there for his birthday and everything was great. Food, service, and drinks were all excellent. We will be back.
Vacation travels from PA brought my wife and I to the Lake Norman area for an overnight stay. Did the same last year and ate dinner for the first time at M great food, service and overall experience. The menu had a wonderful choice of appetizers and entrees and the Seven layer Chocolate Cake for dessert was to die for!
Excellent Attentive Service!
Was a first visit and was really good. The staff are awesome and really make you feel like a guest. Cocktail menu is excellent and the drinks were perfection; best dark and stormy I have ever had. Was able to order appetizers and enjoy them while still deciding in the main course. Their steaks are really good, but we also had lamb and scallops; all were perfection as were the sides. Was unable to fit in a desert so will have to go back.
Love it here. We celebrate our Anniversary here every year ❤️
The Lump Crab Cocktail was delicious as always. In fact, my Wife and her Mother returned the next evening to verify and were not disappointed.
Loved the soft shell crab!! Wish it was a regular feature
Excellent as usual. Have always had a great experience at M&M and have dined many times in the last 10years.
We have eaten here many times in the past and enjoyed every morsel. This was not the case . I did not enjoy my meal and one side dish was returned because it was not enjoyable. We will return again because it may have just been a fluke.
This is our favorite close to home choice for fine dining or even casual. Our NY friends must include a meal here while they visit once or twice a year and they never disappoint.
Awesome food and great service. Had the best Fried tempura lobster I have ever eaten. The lamb chops where to die for.
Service was fantastic. Food was great ambeounce. Atmosphere nice. Looking forward to coming back.
We were there for my wife’s birthday and I wanted a table on the left side of the building (the other side is way too bright for a nice meal and ambience), There were several booths open and no one in line and they told me it would be a 45 minute wait to get seated on that side. When I asked about the empty booths,I was told they were reserved for people with reservations. When I said “I have a reservation too”. and note there was no one waiting, the hostess told me that they hold tables for people who specifically request them, If that is the case, then what is the purpose of the reservation?
So given that we were already there and my wife was looking forward to the meal, we begrudgingly took a seat on the other side. Lots of noise and it is way too bright to eat there before dark.
The wait staff was very accommodating (outside of the hostess). I had the salmon and crab cake. The salmon was very good, the crab cake not so much. My wife had the filet and she told me it was very nice. We had their 7 layer chocolate cake for dessert ( we split a half slice) which was rich and decadent.
Stick to what they do best (steaks and chops) and stay out of the bright side (to the right as you enter) of the restaurant and you will do fine.
However I will think twice before going back for a special occasion.
Update: The restaurant called me to discuss my concerns, she did empathize with my frustration of the issue and made a note in my open table profile that any future visits it is noted that we prefer the club side of the restaurant and that it will be in my profile to hopefully get us a spot on the side we prefer. I found that level of concern (willing to call and discuss) a rarity and appreciate the concern they have for their diners.
Everything was amazing! We’ll be back!
