    A really nice place before a concert or a museum visit. Small but non-boring menu, quiet nook behind the student union, service is friendly and attentive, students I think. A disappointment this time was wanting something that was on the menu but kitchen was out of - but then alternative was very good so got over it.

    My bouillabaisse was flavorless, save for the taste of burned carbon from charred vegetables. The fish and shrimp were over cooked and tough, and the calamari was rubber. The menu was not complete. It did not list sides or options, available beers and beverages, and our server did not seem to know much about the items being sold. The flatbread was good, but it’s tough to ruin flatbread. I had eaten here prior to the pandemic and had a good experience. I’m disappointed to see such decline.

    staff was insufficient, possibly due to a large group being served while we were there. our main course were good, but our deserts were not. our 5:45pm dinner took far too long to complete. our next visit is now in doubt.

    Always a great place to grab a decent meal before a concert at Severance, or (in our case) a play at the Maltz Performing Arts Center.

    Michelson Morley is a great option before a concert at Severance. Can park for the concert early and walk from the restaurant thru the garage to severance. Excellent food and excellent service.

    Short staffed. 45+ minutes to get food with orchestra performance looming. Mashed potatoes cold, steak Luke warm but very tasty. Broccolini looked old. I felt terrible for the waiter, even worse for the chefs who were short staffed. The evening manager wasn’t particularly helpful. The restaurant wasn’t full and they couldn’t work fast enough to accommodate the guests . We have eaten here for years before every performance. MaryJo is certainly missed! We had seat in front room f kitchen and could see how hard chefs were working to keep up. Maybe they should have had less guests that evening.

    Out of numerous menu items. Ordered a gin martini. Came with no gin, not a little , none, only vermouth and water. Bartender argued with me about it. It’s obvious with a cocktail like this that’s pure liquor.

    I have dined at Michelson and Morely several times in the past and have always enjoyed the food. On this last occasion, however, I was sorely disappointed. The server informed me that they were out of several items that evening including my first entree choice so I opted for the burger, which I have ordered in the past. While waiting for my meal the table next to me informed their server the burger they ordered was missing an item. The server apologized that they were out of that item. So, I had a sense my burger would be missing that item as well. Before my food arrived my server informed me that they were out of the salad dressing I ordered and I opted for the red wine vinaigrette instead. When my food arrived both the salad and burger were not as ordered. The salad had a creamy dressing drizzled on top rather than the vinaigrette. I mentioned this to the server who said he would bring me another one. When he returned with the salad it appeared to be the same salad he took away only with the same creamy dressing mixed in. I told him I no longer wanted the salad. The burger was nothing like the burger I was expecting. The meat patty was small, overcooked, and dry. Rather than the bacon jam/aioli there were a few limp pieces of bacon laying atop the patty and some plain mayo smeared on he bun. The pickled onions were nowhere to be found. I was like a bad backyard BBQ burger. Given the problems with the burger at the next table and the issues with my salad, I didn't complain further. Again, knowing the quality of the food I have experienced at the restaurant in the past, I was disappointed in this visit. I will certainly consider other options before trying M & M again any time soon. I will add the soup of the day, roasted tomato, was delicious.

    We have been here before the pandemic. It was always a solid experience back then. It has lost most of its panache. Keeping in mind the restaurant is a service of the University; service was okay, food was also just okay, the value has diminished. Maybe it was just an off night? The whole University Circle experience has deflated.

    We made reservations on line and received confirmation. We arrived to find the restaurant CLOSED. Clearly the Michelson and Morley forgot to update their web site.

    Food and restaurant were good. Server was terrible. Never greeted us. We asked for water without ice for everyone. She only brought one glass without ice. She spilled water on the table and never cleaned it up. She took almost 10 minutes to take our order. The manager had to assist in order to get everything corrected.

    This restaurant used to be so good, it has gone seriously downhill. The service was so rude and our food and drinks were slammed on the table. We asked for things like dressing and sauce and it was brought to us when we were basically done. The rice noodles were hard and had no sauce or flavor, it was like they were made days ago. The price for the food was way too high for what was delivered. It was just horrible, very sad

    Much better than in the past. Great menu from my non exotic standpoint. Instead of turtle speed in the past, service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Will be back next week.

    This restaurant caters to the university community, so it will probably improve considerably when the semester begins. In this in between time, they were out of a fair number of menu items, the food was so-so, and the service was slow (which was surprising as we were the only table).

    Michelson & Morley is a very stylish and lovely intimate restaurant. It used to have more creative, tastier food, but what we had for lunch (the grilled Caesar salad and a Cobb salad) were okay but lackluster. No bread comes with either one; you have to order a separate bread basket. And they were short on wait staff (although not too crowded), so drink refills were never offered. Given the price point, there's not a lot of motivation for me to return in the near future.

    Nice setting for everyone else but with a reservation for two we were ushered to an around the corner no view small table. Not sure why. Salads for lunch were fine, but not so much for service. Salads served for example with no napkins or utensils. Should not have to go fetch for yourself. Server did not follow-up on anything. For example, did not offer any refill on iced tea or even water. Felt second class.

    I was thrilled that they finally had a fresh fish dish on the menu. That’s been my complaint with this place pre-pandemic. The food was outstanding and we had wine at lunch which was also very good. If they had the same sliced tuna dish on the menu eveRy day I would be there once a week.

    It was a very pleasant lunch. We met an old school mate and it was nice to have a quiet, faculty-like dining area on campus. A small but diverse menu. Try something out of your comfort zone. You won't be disappointed.
