Made several visits to this gem of a restaurant. Attentive severs, food is excellent, hard to decide what dessert is most tempting and the individually prepared crepes are worth the wait!! Always satisfied with the eating experience.
Thought Michele's would be a great option for a nice quiet meal prior to a concert we were attending at Dover Downs. Actually, overall I was not pleased. Ambiance was very nice. Our server was pleasant but overwhelmed as she was obviously serving too many tables. We waited a very long time for everything ordered, starting with our cocktails. We were not late for the show but only because I allowed an extra half hour with our reservation. Prices were ok- if all we ordered was ok. Two appetizers were good. The shrimp cocktail, which was good, was overpriced. $5 per shrimp and only three. I had to leave most of my prime rib which was NOT good. Very grisly and practically inedible as a result. I may have left the best half since I didn't get to eat it due to the very bad, untimely service. No take out - didn't want a doggy bag going into a concert so I will never know. My date had the lobster tail which overall was very good. We ordered two sides which were very good also. So in summary, maybe I should not have ordered prime rib! They need to manage the service much better. If I spend that much on a meal I expect to be able to enjoy it.
Cafeteria seating, no style, no desire to return. Service was notable, food was less than something to write about.
Food was over priced. Very small and very few pieces of lobster in lobster mac and cheese. Onion loaf was soggy and under cooked. We received our drinks with the appetizer. Had to ask for rolls then had to ask for butter. This was not our first time here thought it would be a nice place to have our 21st anniversary dinner, but we were extremely disappointed.
Fabulous dinner and service and was so pleased that we got free desserts for our anniversary celebration- very nice. Can’t wait to go back!
Would like to go every Sunday!!
First time going to the Brunch. Definitely worth the money.
Michele's is a fun place to go for Sunday Brunch. The food and beverage manager, Shaylis is friendly, helpful, courteous and above all professional. Sylvia who is the hostess is also friendly, helpful courteous and professional. She and Shaylis always make sure you are seated at a table of your preference. The executive chef is visible, and he is always checking to see what food is running low. He too, is friendly to the guests.
Most awesome food-thanks so much and thanks Rebecca for being the best server in the Universe!
We came for our 44th Anniversary, so special, and will now make this the go to special place to take family and friends!
Thanks so much for having the best selection, it was actually overwhelming. Every item was phenomenal!
The desserts, just too much to grasp! We loved everything. It reminded us of dining in Paris. Plan on seeing us regularly!!
Excellent food and very attentive and professional staff !!!
After reading earlier reviews I was a little worried. One person said the prime rib had a funny taste and they were correct the prime rib is actually smoked and not roasted like at most places so it is a different taste but very good. Bridget our server did a great job she didn't stand over us she was there when needed. I highly recommend you try the chocolate chip cheese cake - unbelievable ! I would definitely recommend.
Overall it was pleasant. However our waitress had a bit of an attitude when we asked for a change in our food selection. As she was walking away returning the plate to the kitchen I can see her shaking her head out of disgust. I would come back however I would request a different waitress.
We go to Dover Downs about every other month and the highlight of the trip is dinner at Michele's. We had steaks that were prepared perfectly. The server was great, friendly and prompt. We fine it a great way to dine and relax.
Service was outstanding and the food was decent. Kinda expected a little more reflecting the price but overall it was good.
I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. Sadly, it has been going down hill every year in the past 9. This last visit was the straw that broke the camel's back! Went to take my mother out for her 77th birthday. I requested my usual server (Barry) who sadly has left the restaurant for a new job at the beach. I told the hostess that I have been coming there for years... I ended up with a server who spoke poor English, brought the wrong wine 2x, failed to clear the table of empty glasses and dirty dishes but when he did, laid the glasses on top of the dishes so they fell over and splashed mu clothes. Lobster tails were served in the shells instead of out or on top. Wine was served just moments before the main course hit the table. So very sad to see the demise of arguably the one time very best restaurant in the state of Delaware. Pretty confident that this was my last trip! (for the past 9 years) I had to drive 90 minutes each way to get here. Lone star steakhouse would have delivered at least a comparable meal for half the price.
Food and service were exceptional. A great place for a special occasion or just to get together with a friend.
A great Sunday brunch. Very nice omelet station with local crab meat. Excellent prime rib, and cocktail (cold) shrimp & oysters.
We didn't feel this place had any value, the food was overpriced and not exceptionally favorful, service was OK
We were seated immediately, thanks to our Open Table reservation. We had a room to ourselves. Food was excellent, perfectly prepared. Service was appropriately attentive, only interrupted our conversation once that I noticed. Really enjoyed the “hot rocks” filet, where your steak is presented raw on a hot volcanic rock, and you cook it yourself. It kept the meat hot throughout the meal. Surf and Turf was excellent, with the lobster dwarfing the filet. Delightful desserts - including the “Happy Birthday” painted on the plate of my dad’s cheesecake. Not inexpensive, but well worth it for a special occasion.
My friend and I were there for dinner on Friday night. Prime time at 8pm and the place was empty. There were people at 3 other tables and that's it. This place is huge! I'm surprised our conversation didn't echo. The menu had steak ( my friends fav, which is why we went), seafood, 1 pasta dish with chicken and 1 pork chop. Being allergic to fish and seafood, I had the pork chop. It was beautiful, but dry. My friend ordered scallops with her steak and got only 2 lonely scallops on a plate, see them in the back of the steak pic. Pricing is what I'd expect to pay at Ruths Chris and just a little bit less than Peter Lugers. Everything is a la carte, so plan on dropping a LOT of cash to eat here. Service was good, but with only 1 table to handle per server, how hard could it be?
Brunch for daughters bday
Lots of variety
SORRY BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN MY FOOD THIS TIME,MY PRIME RIB WAS TOUGH AND TASTED FUNNY, CREAMED SPINACH ALL CREAM, CREME BRULEE WAS MARVELOUS. I SENT MY PRIME RIB BACK. WOULD GIVE IT A TRY ANOTHER TIME THOUGH, RESTAURANT WAS VERY PLEASANT.
Very classy place, server was friendly, food was amazing, quiet place and very welcoming. We shall go there again.
Our dining experience was great as usual. We always have brunch at Michelle's when we are at
Love Sunday Brunch
Amazing atmosphere and food. The best Sunday Brunch in 100 miles.
Met with friends for Sunday brunch and enjoyed another great meal! Really enjoy the brunch - many great options to choose from and good service.
Steaks were over-cooked. The waiter did offer to replace them. The quality of the meat was not reflected by the price. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but I would not recommend it for steaks at least.
My waitress Helena made my birthday very special. My wife and I really enjoyed the whole experience! The meal was excellent. Can't wait to do it again.
We loved the food and the service was great. Very nicely seated and very comfortable. The decor was very good. Staff were pleasant and knowledgeable.
Rebekah was an amazing waitress! The food was good! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and accommodating!
My husband and i were there to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. I wish i could remember our server's name; she really helped to make our experience a special one. On top of that, the food was very good and the ambience comfortable and cozy...perfect for a romantic date. We will be happy to visit Michele's again soon.
Excellent food & ambiance
Decent pricing for meal
Complimentary dessert for Anniversary
I have dined at Michelle's many times for dinner but had never been there for Sunday brunch before. WOW! The selection was amazing. There were five or six stations. The first was a seafood/salad/crepe station. I didn't have a crepe but I watched the chef making them to order and they looked and smelled amazing. The seafood section included raw oysters and huge steamed shrimp. Next was a section with salmon in dill sauce (amazing), lamb chops, and lots more. Next was a station with made to order omelets, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, and a good selection of breads. Next a section of sausages, bacon, and beautiful pork loin stuffed with sausage (OMG!). There were other items sprinkled in (I know I got tortellini with lobster sauce somewhere!). And finally there was a long section of fruits and desserts. For comparison, the selection was about the same size as the casino's buffet but the assortment was much more refined and special. Little pillowy sausage and squash puff pastries that melted in your mouth, fluffy macaroons and pretty little cakes, I could go on and on. And a big pitcher of mimosas was the perfect beverage to accompany this great meal. Finally, I have to mention the service. It is always stellar at Michelle's, but a special thanks to our server, Veda, who was so attentive and sweet - just awesome. We will definitely come back for brunch again!
We ere celebrating my husbands birthday. The chilean sea bass was delicious.
We go there for fine food each trip to Dover Downs. This time we invited 2 Family members to join us for dinner. They have a fine selection of adult beverages. The food was great as usual. They also accept players' comps from the Casino. It was a great evening.
I have been enjoying Michele’s for many years. I take my whole family
We have had dinner and brunch at Michelle's, both were excellent. The food is very good. The service is A++. We had Cindy as our server for brunch, she was pleasant, friendly, accommodating and very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Michelle's or Cindy.
Very friendly hosts and severs. Hot rock dish makes for a great dining experience. Our sever Linda was exceptional.
