As usual, the food and service met my expectations.
Service was excellent, both from the individual table waitresses and the serving line servers. A step above most restaurants in our area. Food quality and variety were excellent as was the presentation. Lastly, the layout of the brunch in multiple rooms, each of which was decorated differently, made for an interesting and quiet ambience. This was our first time, but certainly not our last.
My family and I drove truly enjoy Michele’s. From the food to customer service to quality.
Food was fantastic. Highly recommend the sea bass, the crab cakes and the lobster Mac. Our server Mark was phenomenal and made our experience very memorable.
Always good food and good service. We were seated on time and waitress arrived almost immediately. We really like the brunch plenty to choose from everything is excellent.
The food was overpriced. I paid $40 for the shrimp and scallop meal which consisted of 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. The waitress took our order, delivered it, and brought the bill. She did not once come and check on our drinks or food. Awful service and an over-cooked appetizer sold as a meal. We joked that if we ordered the calamari appetizer, it would probably be one tentacle for us to share. Needless to say, we will not be back. .. Don't do it!
The food was less than we expected. The soup de jour was great tasting but lukewarm. We will not be going back.
The food was good, service needs improvement. The waitress was definitely not even close to being in her “a” game. We had to wait for table which isn’t a problem, but from there it went downhill. Server was in a rush for ordering, ordered a mojito then was told it wasn’t available. Ate dinner which was good. Wanted after dinner drinks but was told by waitress that the bar already called last call, which we were not informed about.
This was our fourth anniversary and Kanye’s did doing the usual decided to go back to Michele’s since we haven’t been there forever we thought it would be as good as it was before. The service was okay took forever for drinks and water glass was empty most of the meal until we asked for water was given our drinks and they were fairly warm hardly cold and of course the food is the main reason we went but honestly wasn’t very satisfied for what you pay for the food servings are very small for the sides and main part the steak wasn’t that great of a cut of meat but since it was our anniversary we did not complain and ate through it all. Lastly the staff that are working there this is suppose to be an elegant restraint and the manager that greats you st the door to bring you to your table is wearing ugg boots and the other managers not so friendly lady either basically dropping the Menu on the table in front of us saying here you go. So most like will not go back again which is sad cause this place use to be good.
Mother daughter dinner
Great place. A little pricey but excellant food and great service. Good wine list. Cost $128.00 for two including bottle of wine, dessert, and tip. Good place for a special occasion.
Food, service awesome. Friday night half price bottles of wine.
My husband took me to brunch on March 4th to celebrate my birthday. This visit was incredibly disappointing. This was my third visit and the menu was exactly same as it was on my previous visits. For $30 a person, I would expect more variety but it's not there. The only thing interesting that day was the crepes and the attendant making them said he didn't have much experience but would do the best he could. There were tasty but a bit thicker than the typical crepe.
The worst part of the experience that truly ruined my birthday brunch was the employee in charge of the carving station. He had his long hair pulled back but it was not tucked in his hat; it was swinging down his back and flying all over. I felt as if he should've been working at a circus guessing a person's weight or trying to get them to play an arcade game as he kept yelling out to people to try the "heart attack on a plate" or to have the "triple bypass meal" - because of that behavior, I didn't even approach the carving station. After 20 minutes of his nonsense, we did requested to speak to the manager. We expressed our concerns and she indicated that he didn't normally work there and was filling in. It appeared that she addressed it with someone as his volume reduced but he still kept identifying his station as something unprofessional. It ruined the entire meal and we couldn't wait to leave.
Thank you for allowing me to share my concerns about that day.
service was friendly. Food was good. Nothing extraordinary, but good steak. Prices were what I'd expect for a steakhouse.
Overall great! The volcano rock steaks were amazing!
First time at Michele's. Wanted some place special to celebrate my wife's birthday and was not disappointed. We were both pleased with our meal selections, found our surroundings and service to be excellent. Special thanks to our server Ranier (my apologies if the spelling is incorrect)for his knowledge of the menu, and exceptional service.
Very comfortable environment and friendly service. Good options of steak and seafood.
We do Michelle's brunch every time we are at Dover Hotel and Casino. It always exceptional.
The food, the waitressess ( or waaiters) and the hostess, Sylvia - all are great.
I had had brunch at Michelles a couple years ago and it was fantastic. Took my mom this time thinking it would be a special treat. It wasn't. The service was friendly, but slammed. Our table had very little interaction with the waitstaff. Often the buffet selection seemed picked over and not that plentiful. There was a good variety, but should have been replenished sooner. For the price I expected a better experience overall.
Very relaxed, but elegant Atmosphere. Comfy seating and ample room on table for appetizers, drinks and sides. Best mushroom soup I've had in a long time! Creamy with actual mushrooms in it, not minced up pieces! Great value in Friday night with half price bottles of wine! Service was well timed, with plenty of time to converse between courses. Had no room for dessert, but would love to come back and try again! Worth the drive from Wilmington or Philly, plus you can always have the option of staying the night!
This was our first experience with Michele’s. We went for Valentine’s Day and both ordered the Sea Bass special. It came out over crabmeat and with veggies and mashed potatoes. I took one bite of my fish and it was rancid tasting. I even had my boyfriend smell it, it had a strong smell of ammonia. He had me taste his to compare and his was just fine. I hate to complain about food, ever, because i myself was in the restaurant business for years. I felt like I had to say something, in case it was a bad batch of fish.
I had purchased a Groupon for 2 for the Grand Prix menu, almost a year ago. Never used used it so it had expired. When I tried to use the Groupon, only for the amount that I paid for it (not for the Grand Prix special), I was told that I could not use it and had to use it on the Grand Prix menu (even though it was expired and Groupon states that the amount paid never expires).
The server was incredibly sweet and did an amazing job. Great service and she had them remove the bad fish from our check.
When we received the bill, I couldn’t believe the price that they were trying to charge for a small piece of sea bass! $55. I could’ve gotten filet and lobster for that price!
Probably will not be returning again
My husband and I had a wonderful evening, with our busy schedules we were finally able to relax and enjoy each other's company while having a quiet dinner. We will return. The food cooking on top of the lava rock was amazing.
The food was delicious. The service was good but the waitress was very attentive , but it took a long time for the food to come out. She said it was because everything is made fresh. It did taste fresh
The food was of very high quality, presented very attractively, and at the appropriate temperatures. We went to the Sunday Brunch which was extensive and the items were continually refreshed.
Among the more notable items were tiny lamb chops, prime rib, oysters and shrimp, and the desserts were varied, numerous and delicious.
A very good value was the pitcher of mimosas for $17.50 vs. $5.50 for an individual drink. And if you can't finish it all (which you won't be able to unless you're a party of 4 or more) they will put the excess in cups to take home.
Very good value, well worth going to.
Service was excellent t!! Waitress was extremely personable!
We had a wonderful dinner at Michelle's to celebrate a birthday. The menu options were varied and the food was delicious. We were very satisfied with our visit.
Very expensive. Dinner for two $180.00 and $30.00 for a bottle of wine that costs $9.99. Very disappointed !!!
Very pricey and ribeye @ $42 not tasty. Menu says it comes w/fried potato. It should say a garnish of a potato chip..
Loved the entire experience. The Sunday Brunch buffet was fantastic. There were so many choices and such variety, it would take me several visits to try everything. The items I managed to sample were all delicious - from the omelets and bananas foster french toast to the lamb chops and pork osso bucco. That's a rarity for a buffet. Everything tasted great!
I very much enjoyed the decor and the atmosphere - tasteful, intimate and quiet. It's the perfect place for quiet conversations and intimate meals. There were people seated at the tables next to us, but everyone kept their conversations quiet. It's the type of place that suggests muted conversations.
Lastly, I'd like to acknowledge our server, Helena. While we didn't require much service, she was there every time we needed something. She was very attentive without being intrusive.
I'd recommend the Sunday Brunch to anyone looking for the experience I just described. I'm definitely going back the next time I'm in Dover, DE.
My family of 4 ate at Michele's for my birthday dinner. The food was mediocre to poor. Portion of stuffed mushroom was small and very expensive plus Crab was "fishy" tasting. I ordered filet topped with crab. Asked for medium rare, got RARE, very rare. Sent it back but by the time my meal came back, everyone else was done eating. They gave me a free dessert as compensation - Pineapple cheesecake, which was pretty good. Actually it was the best part of dinner. My daughter and I each had two drinks - she had mixed and I had wine. My husband had one mixed drink. My son didn't have any, just soda. Four entree's, one appetizer, and three cheesecakes we paid for and the bill was $350 with tip (20% because the server was attentive and very nice). We will never eat there again. Felt like we would have had a much better and much less expensive meal at Outback Steakhouse.
Michele's was great as usual. Food was perfect as was the service. We go to Dover Downs about once every two months and make Michele's a must each trip. Yes, the prices are high; but, you only get what you pay for. The food and experience are well worth the price.
We enjoyed our 44th anniversary dinner and plan to return next year for our 45th. Cindy, waitress, was wonderful. We've recommended Michelle's to family and friends. Thanks for everything.
Rather a disappointment. Our waiter was a young fella who tried very hard but obviously did not have the training to deliver the kind of service expected in a restaurant of this genre and price point. Food was okay.... Not bad but nothing memorable. Lobster bisque was flavorful and nice texture. Potatoes au gratin were very good. Steak, not so much.... Not a quality piece of meat. I ordered it "Pittsburg Rare" and it was delivered blackened with so much spice I couldn't taste the meat. Can't say I'm in a hurry to return.
That was not my first time at Michelle‘s....every time I had gone the service, the food everything has always been wonderful so I recommended it to my family for my sisters birthday , they were five of us , as we walked in there was a tall older waiter , I think his name was Mark was annoyed that we were five minutes early also our table was round which was very nice the conversation is so much easier with a round table but it was right outside the kitchen , there wasn’t another soul in the restaurant it was just us , we asked if we can have another table ,everyone of the servers seem to be annoyed that we asked .... needless to say that put a bad taste in my mouth because I recommended Michelle‘s .....my family felt a uncomfortable that they weren’t welcome ... at the end of the evening with the waiter that we had who was very very nice at least he had a smile on his face , everything turned out well but the initial approach was very uncomfortable .....
I enjoyed the setting, however there was a group of guys there that were very loud. I ordered my steak well done and it was a little pink. I didn’t send it back because the table next to me had the same problem. However , I would love to come back but can’t afford to spend that kind of money and only be able to eat half of my steak.
Great place. Very well set up, loved how it was decorated, it is fantastic for a romantic date night.
Awesome food, awesome staff. It is a little pricy, but so worth it. We don't splurge often, but I'm glad we did here.
Slow service. Waiter was nice enough but unattentive to our pre theater time constraint even though we allowed 1.5 hours for dining, we waited 45 minutes for bread and water. Then at the one hour mark, our salads came but not what we ordered. Told him to take salads off the bill and just bring the entrees. I had to search out our waiter and the manager to explain my overall disappointment and ask “what the heck is the problem?”. All he could do was apologize. Manager did comp the entire meal, but that was not our goal. That’s never our goal. I will pay for good food and service all day long. Entrees were just okay- 2/5 stars. Better restaurants at this location (Dover Downs Hotel and Casino).
Excellent food and service...It was our anniversary and they treated us royally...
We went for my wife’s birthday it was a really nice restaurant
