I was born and raised in the NY/NJ area. I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like. Just go here and eat everything on the menu. BTW if you don't go during happy hour and order every appy on the menu you're just being foolish! Manga!
The food was the #1 reason we will return. Absolutely excellent food and we ordered lots of it. Everything satisfied my husband and my opposite palettes. Delicious quality and presentation.
Wonderfully accommodating and friendly to our last-minute group of 16. The food was excellent and the restaurant is sweet and charming.
I have seen this place for years, and I finally decided to try it - so glad I did.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Everything on the menu is tasty, freshly made and nicely presented and most importantly authentic. This family owned restaurant is not to be missed. I live in NC but since finding Michelangelo’s I try to visit whenever I get to LA. You will not be disappointed.
We had a great waiter and the food was very good - "old school" Italian food
Loved the food; everyone very nice!
Delicious pasta and pizza and the staff was both professional and personable.
This place never disappoints for authentic and delicious Italian food. I highly recommend this restaurant. Period.
Amazing food, hosts, ambiance, attentive waiters. Love it here.
Great as usual...never disappoints ! Waiters always cheerful and don't rush you.
Valentine's for me, partner, sister in law and mother in law. Reservations were good. Got our table on time- actually waiting for us. The only thing is that our waiter told us that we were confined to the Valentine's menu for dinner but after an hour I heard a lady in the next table ordering a dish from the menu.
One of my utmost favorites for the last 10 years, excellent authentic food, excellent hosts and service ,these folks bend over backwards to give you what you want
Food and service was amazing! Valet parking is very convenient.
We came here after some research for authentic Italian cuisine with a high rating. We have been to Italy and this restaurant reminded us of being in Italy and enjoying fine Italian cuisine. I would recommend this restaurant located in Silver Lake, CA.
Everything was perfect - food outstanding. We were celebrating a big birthday for my sister, and owner came over and really made the celebration special. Just wonderful!
Everything about our dining experience was amazing. The food was incredible and so was the service. Great recommendations and food and wonderful dinner specials. Beautiful space and friendly staff. I will go back and recommend you try this great neighborhood place.
The food was amazing. The staff was very helpful. They made the night all the more memorable. Definitely going back.
this place is the best Italian food in town. i love how the owner walks around greeting everyone and his mother is there too! :) good vibes + amazing food=total win.
Waited 1.5 hours for entree. Did not come till 10:15. At no time did anyone apologize for the delay. We had two children at the table! Nor did they comp even a single glass of wine to keep the customers happy. Understanding that it was Xmas night, and they might be in the weeds, we were not rude but concerned. The food was totally sub par and for Parmesan, plops a jar of clearly not fresh cheese down. Everything was total crap. We were totally dumbfounded by the experience.
The service was terrible and the food sucked. The hostess sat a party that arrived after us even though my party arrived first, our groups had the same amount of people, and we had reservations. It took 15 minutes for a server to greet us and even longer to get water. It took over an hour to get our food for a party of two. The servers were unapologetic and nowhere to be found. I live right down the street and I’m never going there again.
What a surprise! They were open during Christmas. I enjoyed the veal dish. The service was excellent. It was relaxing to sit outside on the covered patio. The best Italian cuisine in Silver Lake.
Very good food but sat in patio area and it was very cold
The food was excellent, and the enviroment was cozy. Staff was also friendly. My only issue was the price of the salads. The soups are a better value, yet when a salad prior to the meal costs almost as much as a dinner I take notice. Lowering the salads by a few dollars seems like a more prudent move.
amazing neighborhood gem went to celebrate my BF's bday it was laid back and romantic. the food was incredible.
We enjoyed a nice meal after the theatre - fairly close to the Pantages.
Authentic Italian cuisine. Outstanding service. Warm and welcoming staff. Capellini alla Checca with chicken is AMAZING, best pasta dish in town. GREAT pizza, especially pesto and mushroom. Great for a date, family dinner, drink with a friend, we love this place
All of my work colleagues from outside the state and country loved this restaurant! Thank you!
Fantastic food, Antonio was an outstanding host. Five star experience!
Michelangelo's has been one of my favorite restaurants for 20 years. The food is excellent - basically if it sounds good on the menu the execution will be mouth watering. The service is attentive and personal but never intrusive. You can have a quick bite if you need to but if you want a leisurely dinner with a friend where you talk the night away, they will not rush you. I always love the soups and the salads are delicious (the grilled mushrooms on the Insalata Funghi are addictive and I almost always order it!). The pasta is always perfectly dressed and seasoned. I don't eat meat, but I am told these dishes are delicious as well. The decor is lovely too. Highly recommended!
Great Italian food - received excellent service and loved our meal.
A very charming, hip yet cozy, Italian restaurant in Silverlake. The decor is homey without being stodgy or dated, and the vibe is intimate. Great selection of pasta dishes and other mains. The tomato soup was perfectly seasoned and flavorful and the Penne Arrabbiata was spicy heaven. Very attentive service also make for a great experience.
Very much a middle of the road dining experience. Not bad by any means but nothing special either especially at this price point. In addition to that, when we rec the bill an extra $3 was snuck in for extra pizza sauce without informing us ahead of time. Now $3 isn't much and after paying the bill I mentioned to the waiter that going forward he should inform customers of additional charges so there are no surprises. His response was you should know it's extra. Anyway, it's a coin flip if you're desperate for Italian and cannot venture too far.
Great food, ambiance and service!
It was a lovely evening and we sat outside enjoying the hubbub of street life. The pasta was hot and tender, freshly made - sauces were delicious. One of our favorite places to dine!
Our servers were very attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had some of the tastiest clam linguine that I've ever had. My husband greatly enjoyed his capuccino, as well.
Wonderful service with authentic Italian. In a very comfortable space.
The "Michelangelo family"has been in the Silverlake district for many years. It started at the South End of the reservoir and I was thrilled when they moved to Rowena. It's a much larger space for them too so good all around. The family-run business is very professional. The children are good restaurateurs and the mother is a wonderful chef. I always enjoy coming here!
Diamond in the rough.... nice neighborhood spot in silver lake. Friendly welcoming staff, portions were perfect size and the food was delicious.
