Michael's - South Point Casino Ratings and Reviews
Totally enjoyed the time at Michael's. I had heard only great things about it from NASCAR personnel. It did not disappoint. The food was plated at the table and everything was piping hot. It reminded me of how high class restaurants are portrayed in the movies. I would definitely go to this restaurant again on my next trip to Las Vegas.
It's about 10-15 min from the strip, but well worth the drive. You'll be impressed with the over the top relish tray, which harkens to an earlier time period...old school, supper club. Beautifully decorated with crystals, red velvet and the servers in tuxes take care of your every need. The food was amazing...the Dover sole was superb and the filet Mignon seared perfectly and cooked to the perfect mid-rare temp.
I will certainly be back, every time I'm in Vegas. Helmer was our server and his dedication to fine food and experience certainly showed. He made our experience a memorable one. The entire staff deserves accolades for their professionalism and anticipation of the guests' needs.
I love the way they focus on your every need, as long as you don't have to ask about price.
It was more expensive than I thought, but overall, even though the martini was 26.00 per, it was large enough for two pours, so it was really two martinis and they made me blue cheese stuffed olives, which I LOVE...so, it was really more like $13.00 per martini, which is competitive with Las Vegas pricing. The Rack of Lamb was superb and becasue it fed me for another day after, the $160.00 per couple cost came out to 40.00 per couple per day! :-)
To celebrate our return to Las Vegas, after a long flight from the east coast, we had dinner at Michael's at the South Point Casino. The knowledgeable and thoughtful staff guided us through the evening. Both the food and ambiance were first class. Although there are many exceptional dining venues in Las Vegas, we will look forward to the opportunity of a return engagement at Michael's..
It was our 30th anniversary so decided on Michael's for a treat. Well worth the price, we had the rack of lamb. Having read that with the relish plate and the dessert plate (chocolate covered fruit and fruit bowl) you didn't need to order an appetizer or dessert we still had more then enough to eat. I enjoyed watching the waiters preparing things table side, it was like having a floor show for foodies. We will be back!
First time trying Michael's and it won't be the last. It is a chance for the average Joe to see how the other half lives! The service is the most outstanding I have ever had, and that is saying something. It is very, very, very expensive BUT the old saying " you get what you pay for" applies here. I started with a Crown Royal Manhattan that was very pricey but again it was twice what one normally gets. The appetizer plate was to die for and the hard crackers topped with cheese was excellent. The steak was one of the best I ever had. Crème Brule was outstanding and an Irish Coffee to finish it all off. Will place this place right up on the list of special occasion spots along with the Voodoo. Not sure which one rates as tops.
We had dinner at Michael's this week. We always go to a special dinner when we are in Las Vegas. Because we are staying at Grandview, we thought we would try Michael's. We were told by staff in the casino that we were in for a "treat' and a "special occasion." What we got was less than special. I will say that the service is amazing but the problem is the food is subpar. I am not going into details because there is too much to say. Every course had problems. 72.00 for chicken??? but if you are staying here or near by go to Don Vitos. Less expensive and better food. If you want an exceptional dining experience head to Bellagio, Caesar's or The Venetian. You will get a much better food experience.
I am so fortunate to have such an amazing boss. I was in Las Vegas for a conference and he insisted that me and my husband had dinner at Michael's. What an incrediable dining experience. This is fine dining at it's best!
Thanks Ben and you are right its the best food you will ever have.
It had been several years since we had dined at Michael's but worth the 15 minute drive from the Strip. The ambiance is exceptional having moved the intricate doors and stunning stained glass dome from their original location in the Barbary Coast. The food was served with a flair that reinforced the restaurants dedication to superb cuisine and service. A special experience with an outstanding menu and food preparation!
Our first time to this restaurant, & it was for my husband's birthday. I cannot say enough about the food and the service. Salad was prepared tableside. Rack of lamb for 2 was perfectly prepared & surrounded by an assortment of freshly steamed vegetables. complementary dessert was an outstanding strawberry shortcake. And, that was followed by apres dessert.....assortment of chocolate dipped fruit AND a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit. Very pricey, but certainly worth it for a special occasion. The wait staff was superb.......very attentive, but not intrusive. Needless to say, we were STUFFED when we left, and very satisfied.
If you want a once in a lifetime experience, try Michael's in South Point Hotel and Casino. The ambience was just right and the wait staff was attended to our every need. The spinach salad prepared tableside was one of the best I've ever had! The salmon was moist, delicious and without that "fish" smell that so often accompanies salmon. The wine was excellent. I highly recommend this unique restaurant.
Excellent food. Can't go wrong with any of the menu choices. We ordered the steak for two and had enough to feed six! I felt absolutely terrible leaving that much food behind as we're in a hotel with no microwave! We were in shock when the bill came. Do not order appetizers as you'll be stuffed by the time main dish comes. I'm no skinny Minnie either. Then, just to torture ourselves further we ordered dessert. I had a glass of Dom Perignon and it cost $58. My husband had a $40 glass of port just to give you an idea of prices. One of our desserts was $28. Whole meal was around $500. If you aren't lushes like we were you'll save a bundle.
Not much to say about Michael's. They treated us right. We went for our anniversary dinner and they made sure it was a special occasion! I knew the food was going to be expensive going in, but it was still a bit shocking when the bill came. That said, I really think it was worth it. The steak was easily the best steak I've ever had. The potatoes au gratin were incredible. The service was almost better than the food! The waiters seemed to have professional degrees in service, that was how good they were. We loved it!
We were very happy with just everything We have eaten in many great restaurants all over the world however I really would rate this the best in every aspect My husband thought the aame This occasion was for his 75th birthday . Thank you so much for making the evening very special. Jan Jensen
Me and my spouse wanted a nice romantic evening out. So we chose Michaels. It ambiance was outstanding. The decor was romantic and dimly lit. It was quiet and just the perfect setting for the night we were looking to have. The food was amazing...definitely worth the price! The service was amazing! Before your glass was half empty someone was refilling your glass. Anything you needed, before you could ask they were there attending to your need. We would go here again without hesitation!
Being from out of town, I had no idea 8 miles down Las Vegas Blvd would cost $30 bucks oneway for taxi. So be warned to add an additional $60-70 bucks if you are visiting and staying on the strip for your taxi ride to get there. Now 'Michaels', the interior was dated and had us seeing red as in everything was the color red and upholstery was velvet. The staff was attentive and professional and made us feel like we were the only ones in the place (which we were for the first half of our meal). The meal, portions were gigantic with prices to match.
One of the most AMAZING STEAKS I have ever had. Funny, we live less than five minutes away but had never been to Michael's because it is located in the South Point casino which is smokey and ... well... not the nicest place to visit in Vegas.
We were more than pleasantly surprised with Michael's... we were SHOCKED on how great it was... if it was only in a nicer casino....
We were in a hurry to get to a meeting and did not get to fully enjoy the occasion, so we will most definitely be back VERY soon...
Ever since Michael's has moved to the South Point Casino, everytime I go to Vegas, two or three times a year, we always eat at Michael's. I have never had a bad meal or bad experience. It is consistently fantastic. Outstanding food and service with the best old style ambience where you can hear one another. I highly recommend Michael's.
I really liked this restaurant a lot. The staff was very friendly and service was outstanding. The food was very good, I usually eat at Joel Robuchon at least once every time I go to Vegas and I decided to try Michaels instead. I really liked this restaurant and will return the next time I go to Vegas!
Somewhat out of the way location but worth the trip (and the schlepp through the not terribly upscale South Point Casino). Very expensive but you get quite a lot for your money. Outstanding service and, with a few minor glitches, great food overall in enormous portions. Staid, adult atmosphere, which we liked, but some might not like the formality. The staff is anything but stuffy, however.
The ambiance was elegant and romantic. The staff was friendly as could be, courteous and as accommodating as anybody could hope for. Drinks were plentiful and delicious. The rack of lamb for two with the king size veggie medley and subtle yet delightful hollandaise sauce...WOW! Caesar salad made at the table used only perfect lettuce pieces and the dressing was spot on. The pallet cleansing lemon sorbet, not that unusual, until they pour in the Dom Perignon! Fruits, homemade chocolates, fresh fruit, pastries, the strawberry shortcake was light, creamy..OMG! By the end of the meal I was looking for a white napkin so I could raise it and yell uncle! I told the maitre d, "stop, you win". He replied, "No sir, you win!" He was right.Just superb!
