Always a great dinner with exceptional service! The food is outstanding, as is the ambiance. We love going here each year for our anniversary!
We ate many times at Michael's when it was in the Barbary Coast but just recently discovered it was now in the South Point Hotel. We live locally and decided to spent the night at the S/P just to eat at Michael's for our 48th Anniversary. We always have a drink at the bar first and it was very busy for a Thursday night. The decor in the dining room is that old fashion Las Vegas look and comfort. Our waiter, Vincent, and the rest of the waite staff were really on the ball all through dinner. The food was excellent and just kept coming.
Overall our experience was excellent including the room, food, and service.
This was our second trip to Michael's. This time we celebrated our anniversary. Everything about this establishment is first class, and again exceeded our expectations. The food, the service, the experience is among the very best Vegas has to offer. You really need to try it.
Well, after hearing several locals recommend this place we decided to give it a try. Maybe I missed the memo here, but yikes. Let me first start by saying I do own a restaurant and I know how reviews go. I hate leaving reviews, but I almost feel like this place has to get called out.
Maybe it's due to that it's in a casino and people use comps, but the prices here are outrageous. $30 for a small pour of bourbon that would normally be $10-12, maybe $14-16 in Vegas. The "relish" tray of pickled things -- not a fan. There were some wafer things on the table that we didn't quite know what they were for. I immediately regretted spending $30 for a cab from the strip to get here.
What really set me off was the $78 "seafood bowl" which came out with: One crab claw. This looked pretty good. The lobster tail was maybe 2 ounces and so overcooked it was inedible. The kicker: There were two medium sized shrimp. I at first thought this was a bit on the small side, but whatever...until I picked up a shrimp to eat it and IT WAS CUT IN HALF. One shrimp, cut in half. Seriously? Biggest ripoff in the history of ripoffs. $78 for that???
The Chateaubriand was $190. It did come with some steamed veggies (broccoli, carrot and squash straws, asparagus and a tomato with weird breadcrumb things in it) that you don't have to buy a-la-carte. It's sorta prepared tableside - the server did cut the steak into 4 pieces for us so yeah. I felt like I was being punked and looked around for Tony Soprano to be making shooting motions towards me. This place might be cool if you're in your upper years, have turquoise colored marble looking formica countertops with brass fixtures at home, but I can't believe we paid $400 for it. Didn't even bother with the $29 per person desserts. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Wow!! From start to finish off the chart!! FINE DINING WITH OLD VEGAS STYLE!!!!’
When I am forced to order a main course before any appetizer can be placed this restaurant has no
Place in the dining scene. I was forced to order my entire meal in advance and if I didn’t the chef
Refused to prepare any meal until I did so. I rejected the forced decision and management was content
To have me leave. This also happened to the couple seated next to us but they decided to order one
I live in Las Vegas and I WILL NEVER go to this restaurant again.
Michael’s is absolutely the BEST restaurant in Las Vegas! We never miss eating there when we are in LV!! It is our favorite! The food, service and ambiance is impeccable!! Highly recommend it.
WOW! This place is such a hidden gem! It is so worth the drive. It is absolutely stunning from the second you walk in the beautiful glass door. Service is also out of this world! They did charge us for a salad that we sent back which was kinda a bummer, figuring how much money we spent. Yet, the service and food were so awesome it would not deter us from telling EVERYONE about it.
Amazing! First time and celebrating a birthday. Staff was great. Frankie is awesome!
Excellent service & food, was disappointed they were out of Stone Crabs, but the Chilean Sea Bass was exceptional!
Excellent service! Relish tray and chocolate covered fruit were a nice surprise.
one thing to be aware, the menu prices on open table are not updated. actual prices (i.e. lobster cocktail $34 on open table-$46 actual)
Maitre 'D was somewhat rude and unwelcoming although we had reservations. Food was good but the dinners are about $30-40 overpriced on each item.
I asked for steak sauce. It took over 20 minutes to get. The waiter and Maitre d’ walked by and did not say one word to us. We were shocked. We have always had good service there.
Outstanding food, ambiance and service. Highly recommend Michaels
Excellent, excellent , excellent in all areas. Michael's never seems to disappoint. We have been going here for 15 years and it is an wonderful yesterday as it was 15 years ago! Delicious food, elegantly served with staff in tuxes, lovely ambiance, quiet. For our taste, this is the best restaurant world-wide that I have visited and I have been to 160 countries!
Enjoyed the entire evening, will be back every time I'm in Vegas. Worth the money
Always awesome....true classic Vegas restaurant...Jose and his staff are top notch...
Perfect for place to celebrate a special occasion.
I was a regular when I visited Las Vegas, when I was married, and we came to your wonderful restaurant. Since then I have divorced and haven't been to Las Vegas in 13 years. Michael's made such an impression on me that I made a point to go there when I returned 3 weeks ago!
Since we have discovered this gem of a restaurant, we always come here at twice a year. The service is wonderful. It is nice to be so pampered while eating a great meal
Excellent staff,service friendly and helpful
We loved it. Vincent was amazing. The filet was to die for and the food overall was amazing. We couldn't have had a better time.
We had a wonderful experience dining at Michaels. The service was impeccable. Every course was delicious with a great variety to choose from. We loved it.
I took my daughter here for her first fine dining experience. Michaels did not disappoint! We especially liked our interactions with our lead server Hillman, he was excellent!
Gourmet cuisine always a cut above in all areas. Stellar service without being overbearing. The obvious unexpected gem of dining at South Point. $$$ but worth the old school elegance and relaxed pace to savor each course of a fine meal.
I’ve been here multiple times.
When a kitchen gets buried I would expect an apology. Not a “you are at liberty to leave if you choose” from the waiter. Don’t get me wrong meal was fantastic attitude was subpar.
I love this place I always tip well and love the fact that an old school steak house is around.
I will come back I just hope next time is more pleasant
What a great place to celebrate any special occasion!!! Always a pleasure to go to Michael’s!
Michaels has changed. Food was ok. I ordered the dover sole and was mushy. Never had dover from
south america. Menu needs a make over.
Maybe a tad overpriced, but you get a lot of food and a tremendous dining experience for it. Truly old school high end dining. Something to not miss
Always enjoy Michael's. Great service, great food, and great vibe
Exceptional service, excellent food. The bowl of fruit at the end, however, was over the top and just too much. Special place for sure. We loved it and would love to go back when we travel to the area again.
Michaels is always a great romantic high-end restaurant they squeezed us in even though they never received a reservation from OpenTable
Most amazing restaurant
Always excellent. Amazing food. The service is always on point. We need more restaurants like this in Las Vegas.
Outstanding food outstanding service....romantic....clean...friendly staff my anniversay stop every year
Michael's is arguably the best fine dining restaurant in the Las Vegas Valley. We took friends who were visiting from Phoenix--one of them a gourmet cook--and they commented that this was the finest meal they have ever had. The service is top-notch, yet friendly. The food is incomparable. An absolutely wonderful experience.
The service from the wait staff is top notch and in Las Vegas that means a lot as there are many other great restaurants. The food is high end and the chef will pace your meal to your liking! No high pressure sales just good quality high end dining!
Went here for our tenth anniversary...Wway overpriced is the biggest problem, and a bit stuffy. "Shoestring Potatoes" (aka French Fries) for $17, and not even as good as Mc Donalds fries? People were nice, but it felt like we were in the dining room of the Titanic or something. Seven year Vegas resident here. Brett Musburger was sitting nearby, so at least we got a good story out of it.
