Michael's - South Point Casino Ratings and Reviews
Michael's ALWAYS delivers! We took my brother and his wife to for a birthday celebration. This was my third visit to Michaels and each and every time was excellent. They have perfected the dining experience. My brother was so impressed with the food and especially, their supremely attentive service, he could not stop commenting on it for several days. Restaurants like Michaels are a rare find these days, with the overcrowded, noisy scenes at so many of the Vegas restaurants. Michaels is a MUST !!
We never miss an opportunity to dine at Michael’s! Been eating there since they were in the Barbary Coast location. Always excellent appetizers, petit filet with bernaise sauce is exceptional and the original decor and attentive servers never ever disappoint.
I have lived in Las Vegas for over 8 years and have always wanted to visit Michaels. Local reviews and suggestions for a cool date spot seemingly always mention Michaels, and now I know why.
The service was first class and like a good date timing is everything. They were relaxed in their service and took their time to make sure the guest experience, presentation of food was amazing.
I was blown away and will forever recommend this venue.
Michaels NEVER disappoints! The food is delightful and the service is unobtrusive yet attentive. Drinks are generous. Our party had chateaubriand for two, the New York steak, and salmon. All were presented well and cooked to perfection. The lobster cocktail is served in a unique manner which surprised and delighted. The palate-cleansing sorbet is served in Don Perignon champagne-- truly decadent!
My friend said that it was the very best dining experience and meal he's ever had. Michaels is my ultimate restaurant.
A special experience. Recommended by friend who eats there every time he goes to Vegas. I understand why. Decor is not what you usually see in modern restaurants but it suits the place and is well kept. A nice change from the bright lights of the strip (thought you do walk through a casino to get to the unobtrusive entry). Food is pricey but really good. Preparation was and all ingredients were excellent. Had the strip and veal piccata - delicious. Caesar salad prepared at table was great; hardly anyone does it from scratch any more and the flavor is terrific. Crab cocktail served in an inventive way. Bananas Foster was prepared at the table and flavors were distinct but combined perfectly.
Staff works together to make sure everything runs smoothly. All are professional and attentive.
I’ll go back when I’m in Vegas again.
Everything was outstanding from the drinks, food, service was all great. We have wheat allergy and they really did a great job to make sure that everything we eat was wheat free. Martini's were good and Veal Scallopine was great as well and then the mixed berries with Chambord .
Wow this place is pricey, the Filet was excellent, but that was it. Salad $29 not good. Appetizers $25 ea. not good. Prime sirloin special with a cognac peppercorn sauce GROSS and they put it all over the steak. This place may have been good a long time ago but not anymore! Gross, gross gross
What isn't to like at Michael's! The food, staff, and setting are top notch and can't be rivaled. As my wife puts it, "when I sneeze there is a tissue waiting for me by the time I life my head" the service is top notch. The relish tray to start it off and the fruit tray to end is amazing. This was my third time at Michael's and it's still my favorite restaurant to go to in Vegas.
Okay - this place is expensive, no doubt. But we knew that going in (is there a review that doesn't mention it?!). My husband and I have wanted to eat here for a few years (we visit Vegas almost yearly), ever since we walked down a corridor in the low-key South Point casino and discovered these ornate wooden doors leading into Michael's. In my opinion, if you are going to eat here, just embrace it - order what you want, I was looking at it as a once in a lifetime experience. And it is an experience - not just dinner out. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was like we entered another world of old fashioned elegance. Everything, and I mean everything is outstanding and so classy and wonderful. We ordered appetizers, salad, dinner and dessert - the whole shebang - and we enjoyed every second. The Cesar salad prepared table side is a MUST - truly the best we have ever had. We had the rack of lamb for 2, again the best we have ever had. My husband has the creme brulee - and he is a bit of a fanatic - very picky about this dessert - the prior gold standard was at Ruth Chris, but now Michael's holds that spot - he could not stop raving about it. So dinner out at this one restaurant - and we had THREE dishes that were the best we have ever eaten - doesn't that just say it all. If I had to do it all over again, I might hold back and just share one appetizer - I was getting really full at the end and "had" to bring most of my dessert home with me. Oh - and I would also order that creme brulee! And yes, it was expensive (and we don't drink!), but it was almost a 3 hour dining experience - it was our entertainment for the evening. And my husband said, there were so many things on the menu that he still wanted to try (like the Dover sole), that he would come back again. Hooray!!!
This was a very special evening for us. It was our 20th Anniversary. We were waited on very graciously. We both ordered Filets and were surprisingly very happy with the cut and the tenderness and flavor.
Baked potato was out of this world and presentation was outstanding, sharing Asparagus was a very good idea. The French Onion soup was the very best I have tasted, would do that again and again.
The atmosphere was very pleasant and quiet. Service outstanding.
What a surprise a Strawberry Cake slice to finish it all off for our Anniversary, hats off to the chef for such a yummy cake!!!
Very good food and excellent service. By Las Vegas standards very over priced. For instance a bowl of onion soup was 25.00. They did provide a lot of extras in the meal but pretty standard for a high end restaurant. Steaks were $30-40 more than most places in Vegas.
