Everything was first rate! Wait staff was fantastic, food excellent! I will definitely go back, and soon!
Great place to celebrate my anniversary.
Steaks were fantastic as was service. Strawberry shortcake was wonderful!
Favorite of all time! Never disappoints. Every time we come to Vegas, this is a must
Best restaurant in town!!!
amazing food, the great service started at the front door. Love the decor in the dining room
This is a very elegant place for special occasion dining. The maître de remembered us from last year including where we had sat and what we had ordered. "I'm going to give you a different view and a different menu to celebrate the occasion (anniversary)." We were attended by no less than five staff, all in elegant tuxedos. It is that kind of place. Very quiet, very peaceful, very charming, all transpiring in a near whisper. Although we did notice that the menu pricing had soared by about a third, it proved to be well worth it. It begins with a very nice, complementary Charcuterie garden platter, varying from quail eggs to cornichon sweet pickles. Appetizers, soups and salads are really unnecessary with these little delicacies. The main course alternatives are extensive and nicely prepared at the table. (In traditional chivalrous style, only the men's menu lists the pricing.) There are nice vegetable side dishes, but the entrees come with stuffed broiled tomato. Thought about seeing the dessert menu when a cavalcade of staff came with a celebratory, huge portion of cheesecake/chocolate mousse from Joe's of Brooklyn or our anniversary (Totally decadent). And this was accompanied by a very large bowl of fresh fruit (apples, pears, oranges, and several varieties of grapes). Not to be outdone, there also was served a very nice selection of chocolate dipped fruits. Individual chocolates were served with the cheque. All complimentary. Suddenly, the cost of the entrees became very reasonable. The entrees themselves were very fresh and tasty (lobster and veal), but somewhat under seasoned. First class service was very cordial and attentive, but never pretentious.
We had been "thinking" about going to this restaurant for a while and decided to make
it a 'special' birthday dinner ... we could never say how much we loved it!!! The whole
evening was the most elegant/pampering/lovely/delicious experience. We will definitely return!
Way over priced. Food was good but not worth the money.
We dine at Michael's for special occasions and it is really a treat!
Best restaurant in Vegas, outstanding service, food and quality.
My girlfriend and I stumbled across Michael's while looking for a nice bar to sit and have a drink. Michael's has a beautiful bar as soon as you walk in, which was completely empty. We asked the bartender if we can sit and have a drink; he advised we needed a reservation. We went on Open Table and booked a 9:00 p.m. reservation; in the comment section, we stated we were coming to have desserts and drinks. We went back to Michael's a few minutes before 9:00 p.m., the host told us we did not have a reservation. We showed him the Open Table confirmation, confirmed it was the right Michael's, date and time; he refused to accommodate us. Meanwhile, at the bar, was a couple enjoying a drink. We felt completely disappointed and insulted.
Wonderful experience, exceptional service.
Amazing experience from a surprising location! Who knew the South Point was hiding such a gem! This was the best meal I’ve had in my life (I had the sea bass). Service was impeccable and the atmosphere is charmingly old Vegas. Be prepared to spend your car payment for a meal for 2, but also be prepared to feel spoiled and famous! Great location for a special date night!
I’ve probably been here 20 times, the waiter tonight was awful. Makes me not want to go back.
Service was extremely attentive and we appreciate the old-school traditions still alive here. The space is also very romantic.
Food and service were phenomenal. Better then we had expected.
We come here every time we're in Vegas. The food is superb and the service is second to none. 5 Star For Sure
Service is incredible and the food is the best in the world. Incredible dining experience
This was on my bucket list. Didn’t disappoint. Unparalleled level of service. Delicious food.
super food, impeccable service, unbelievable atmosphere
Valentines. Great food and fantastic over the top service
Went for a Valentine's celebration with my wife, and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely. The vegetable tray was an exceptional start! Both of our meals were excellent. My wife's Sea Bass was spectacular! However, what really got me, and let me know we were in a special place was the sorbet with a splash of Dom Perignon between appetizers and the main course. Can't forget to mention the Bananas Foster. Delicious!
Consistently fantastic! Classic restaurant featuring time forgotten table side prepared Caesar salad and flambé desserts
Can’t speak highly enough about the experience
This was EXACTLY like I remember the "old Vegas" steakhouses! From the free veggie appetizer plate to the complimentary fruit and chocolate desserts, EVERYTHING was perfect!!
Highly recommended for a fine dining experience.
It was louder than i expected. But only because there were several big parties
In my opinion... this is the best restaurant in Las Vegas bar none! The food and service is with no doubt outstanding! We have been enjoying this restaurant for 35 years and they have never disappointed ! Thank you Michales staff for your excellence !
Please tell everyone that worked on Feb1st, thank you for the great experience!
Fabulous, best dining experience
Simply unsurpassed in Vegas for ambience, and service, though very pricey for sure.
excellent food and service. This is our go to place
Fabulous as remembered from first visit 22 years ago
Excellent in all respects
Always a great dinner with exceptional service! The food is outstanding, as is the ambiance. We love going here each year for our anniversary!
We ate many times at Michael's when it was in the Barbary Coast but just recently discovered it was now in the South Point Hotel. We live locally and decided to spent the night at the S/P just to eat at Michael's for our 48th Anniversary. We always have a drink at the bar first and it was very busy for a Thursday night. The decor in the dining room is that old fashion Las Vegas look and comfort. Our waiter, Vincent, and the rest of the waite staff were really on the ball all through dinner. The food was excellent and just kept coming.
Overall our experience was excellent including the room, food, and service.
This was our second trip to Michael's. This time we celebrated our anniversary. Everything about this establishment is first class, and again exceeded our expectations. The food, the service, the experience is among the very best Vegas has to offer. You really need to try it.
Well, after hearing several locals recommend this place we decided to give it a try. Maybe I missed the memo here, but yikes. Let me first start by saying I do own a restaurant and I know how reviews go. I hate leaving reviews, but I almost feel like this place has to get called out.
Maybe it's due to that it's in a casino and people use comps, but the prices here are outrageous. $30 for a small pour of bourbon that would normally be $10-12, maybe $14-16 in Vegas. The "relish" tray of pickled things -- not a fan. There were some wafer things on the table that we didn't quite know what they were for. I immediately regretted spending $30 for a cab from the strip to get here.
What really set me off was the $78 "seafood bowl" which came out with: One crab claw. This looked pretty good. The lobster tail was maybe 2 ounces and so overcooked it was inedible. The kicker: There were two medium sized shrimp. I at first thought this was a bit on the small side, but whatever...until I picked up a shrimp to eat it and IT WAS CUT IN HALF. One shrimp, cut in half. Seriously? Biggest ripoff in the history of ripoffs. $78 for that???
The Chateaubriand was $190. It did come with some steamed veggies (broccoli, carrot and squash straws, asparagus and a tomato with weird breadcrumb things in it) that you don't have to buy a-la-carte. It's sorta prepared tableside - the server did cut the steak into 4 pieces for us so yeah. I felt like I was being punked and looked around for Tony Soprano to be making shooting motions towards me. This place might be cool if you're in your upper years, have turquoise colored marble looking formica countertops with brass fixtures at home, but I can't believe we paid $400 for it. Didn't even bother with the $29 per person desserts. Save your money and go elsewhere.
The food was excellent!
Michael’s reminds me of old VEGAS
Dining room was cozy & plush
Prosecco was excellent & a very generous pour
The wait staff was beyond excellent, we were treated like royalty
Portions are very generous
Perfect place to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries
Wow!! From start to finish off the chart!! FINE DINING WITH OLD VEGAS STYLE!!!!’
My favorite Restsurant !! Never disappoints .The entire experience just got better ... food and service and atmosphere were great.
