Michael's - South Point Casino
Michael's awards have included being named one of the Top 5 Restaurants in Las Vegas by the Zagat Survey. It received the Four-Diamond Award for Exceptional Cuisine, Excellent Service, and Elegant Dining Atmosphere from the American Automobile Association, the Award of Excellence from Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and the Finest Gourmet Restaurant recognition from the Las Vegas Review-Journal Readers' Poll.
Dining at Michael's is an experience of a lifetime. One of our guests told us that his dinner at Michael's was better than the meal he had eaten the week before at the White House!
We hadn't been to Michael's since it was in the Barbary Coast and if we hadn't walked through the South Point casino floor to reach it you wouldn't know that you weren't still in the Barbary Coast. Michael's just puts nearly every other restaurant in Las Vegas to shame. It's nominally expensive but you receive so much for the money spent. My wife had the Dover sole and I had the veal chop - both fantastically prepared and presented. I wish I were in my 30's again (late 60's now) because the food just keeps coming - all of it excellent. Service & ambiance even with the China virus playing out were still outstanding. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Truly top notch. A gem. Unreal dining experience.
What a special place and what an amazing staff. This is on of those singularly rare jewels of a dining experience . My wife and I are not "foodies" per say. We are just a couple that really enjoys great food and wonderful service in an upscale atmosphere and Michaels is all that and more. We visit this restaurant when we really want to treat ourselves to "old world" dining. Proper linens, impeccable table setting, delicious food, and white glove service await any and every guest here. We have to give special thanks to the Maitre d', Jose who went above and beyond the call. Although it is pricey we feel that it is our "go to spot" when we really want to celebrate any special occasion! If you haven't visited you must! If you have you will go back!!!
Great night. Throw back to the 70's, service was outstanding..
The dining experience was just as good as the first time. Service and food were top notch. Definitely a place we will go when we want a very special experience.
Excellent “old school” dining experience. Service was impeccable and food was amazing.
Great Service, Captain and Servers were exceptional, drinks from the bar were very good, Best Crabcake ever I would go here anytime if I could afford it, Spent a lot but some times things in life are priceless !!!!
This is not an inexpensive place, but it is worth every penny it costs. Food is a solid 15 on a scale of 1 to 10, and the service is as good as the food. You get all sorts of extras which is a nice surprise even when you know they are coming.
It is the most eloquent dinner experience you will ever have!! The food is the best . I had filet mignon and my husband had wild salmon two great choices👍their soup is delicious , too! It definitely is not cheap though so when you want to treat yourself I highly recommend this restaurant!
Absolutely the best restaurant in Las Vegas! More than worth the drive from the strip, heck, I would have walked for that meal!
This is truly "Fine Dining", and the prices reflect that. If you want a luxury dining experience, then Michael's is the place. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant and you immediately feel that you are going to be treated to a rare experience. The staff is always just a look away but never in you face. Russell was our waiter and he was a true gentleman and took excellent care of us.
You will pay for this experience but it is worth the money.
The staff is always welcoming & inviting. The service is top notch & professional. Everyone works smoothly & seamlessly to provide a great experience. The food is always prepared to perfection & we’ve never had a bad meal.
The entire dining experience was beyond our expectations. The service, food attitude of our server was great.
This was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had in almost 39 years of marriage. Everything was perfect--ambiance, service, food, and selections. Having table side flambé and other preparation made the evening even more wonderful. All the staff was attentive and they set a very high benchmark.
I would highly recommend Michael's for a special occasion.
Exceptional from beginning to end!!
Best dining in Vegas!
The experience was great but the food was very under seasoned and poor. We ordered salmon and a filet. We shared broccoli and had a crab cake appetizer. The crab cake was good. The main entrees all needed added seasonings and they were still just ok. We ordered bananas fosters and it was amazing. Our totally bill for 2 people was $450 and it was certainly not worth that. We paid for the experience but won’t be back
Have dined there since ‘86 and it’s still outstanding as ever! Jose has kept same fabulous employees, food!
Very few restaurants in the world can maintain food and service that long!!!
We had a lovely experience. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and superb service. We’ll be back!
The Dover Sole is always amazing here. I come once a year just to get it. Expensive but you will feel like you are royalty.
From entering the door to enjoying a night cap at the bar the whole experience was incredible and top notch. This was not my first experience and will not be the last. The attention to detail never disappoints.
If you are looking for a very formal old-school dining experience, then Michael's is for you. It certainly is not in the most romantic location, we had to shove our way through a crowded and smoky casino and were a little concerned... But we were very surprised when we entered a small door with a sign that said "Michael's". It was like a whole new world in there. A quiet, formal, fancy dining room with a Maitre'D in a tux and a team of male servers in old school outfits. We were seated almost immediately even though we were a little early for our reservation. We quickly discovered that everything is a production. We started with martinis which were made perfectly. We were immediately given a large relish tray, parmesan crackers and lavash bread. We each ordered a different salad and both were prepared tableside. My salad was absolutely delicious. Between courses we were given lemon-lime sorbet with Dom Perignon poured on top.... wow! My Dover Sole was deboned tableside and it was very tasty. Husband ordered lamb chops and they were cooked to a perfect medium. The food was quite good. Throughout the meal, the team of waiters did everything for you, from refilling your glass to adjusting your napkin to expertly removing the crumbs from the table. For dessert you're given a complimentary bowl of fruit and an assortment of chocolate covered fruits. We could barely touch most of it, and were shocked when they wrapped up the ENTIRE THING... including the fruit bowl.
Long story short, this was an experience to remember. The food was very good, not the best meal of my life, but certainly not a disappointment. It was extremely expensive - you are paying for the experience, but I thought it was worth it. I certainly won't forget it.
Every aspect was outstanding, but the service and attention to detail are second to none.
Awesome food & service!!!
Michael’s is one of, if not the, best and oldest restaurants I can remember in Las Vegas. I do my best to visit once a month, sometimes more.
This restaurant is amazing! It is VERY upscale, but the staff is friendly and they weren’t afraid to joke around with us, unlike many of the stuffy snobby restaurants around town. The food was amazing, and there was a sinful amount of it. Will definitely return!
Everything was great— service, food, and environment
Our visit was fantastic as always! I have been many times. Not once have I been disappointed.
Everything about this place is exquisite from the moment you walk thru the door.
One of the best dining experiences you can experience. Staff, food, everything is spot on! Make the decision, go here, the only thing you will regret is not finding this restaurant sooner...
Absolutely the best service ever! Have not been in over 10 years but just as wonderful as I remember. The food was fabulous but the impeccable service is beyond compare. Worth the taxi ride there.
The most elegant fine dining experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. The food was exquisite the servers excellent myself and my clients both enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
Service was great!
I think they need to gone up all little more time to enjoy your excellent cocktails that they make and your dinner order
But that is minor everything they seve is excellent Snd the service is superb
A very special place! We will be back food is outrageous! So are the prices?! But I will say iris very special
We had heard about this restaurant from open table as well as friends. We were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful time. It is a gem easily missed inside the S. Pt. Hotel. Would go back.
Delightful dining experience. Great food, awesome service and beautiful atmosphere! Vin was awesome and so was his entourage.
Service is absolutely impeccable and the food is phenomenal!
This place is extremely old school so know what you are getting into before you go here to make sure it is the experience you want. The atmosphere is very old Vegas which can be fun, but other elements of this restaurant make it one I would not return to. I was here with 3 business colleagues for dinner recently - 3 women, 1 man. All of the women were given menus with no pricing, only the man’s menu had pricing. Not only is this tone deaf to modern norms, it could have been extremely awkward if I had been with customers where I am often the senior one at the table (and therefore picking up the check). In addition, one person at our table wanted an appetizer for her main entree. They charged us an additional plate fee of $35 (the appetizer was already $32). We were ordering multiple courses, bottles of wine, cocktails, etc so this felt unnecessary not to mention it was not disclosed anywhere (even on the one menu w prices). Not to mention the fact that the food was extremely pricy for what it was - $69 for the chicken breast (a la cart, sides were extra), salad courses were $16-32, steaks $90+. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best and one of my colleagues found a hair in her salad that was merely shrugged off by the waiter and the plate whisked away. Given all the other great places to eat in Vegas, I would recommend you spend your considerable dollars elsewhere.
