Excellent service and great service recovery when one item served slightly over cooked. Very good menu. Brilliant shrimp appetizer. Excellent pork chop.
Food is fantastic. Our server Andrew was as good of a server as I've had. Would definitely recommend for a date night.
This was our first time dining here. We had an excellent experience and will return. Would be a great place for special celebrations.
While the service and staff were impeccable, the food was just OK, not great and over priced for the quality. There are many better restaurants in the area food wise. I do like going to the restaurant for the staff and the music and know that I am going to overpay for the experience.
Always great food, ambiance, and service. Our server, Kristine, was perfect. We love MOE!
Wonderful experience as always at Michael’s!!!
Alway's good food and service. The "Epicurean Adventures" and "Tasting Events" are fabulous - if you need a reason. Also, take time out for lunch at Michael's on East; it is an oasis offering real food.
Four persons had lunch. Two of us had the "Baltimore Special" for $19.95 that consisted of a soft shell crap on a salad plus dessert. The salad was mediocre, mainly because the crap was mostly breading and there was little meat to taste. In previous years it was much better. The dessert was fine. The others had different lunches that they were pleased with.
I lunch at Michael's on a regular basis and am generally pleased. This was not a common occurrance but still disappointing as we look forward to this special every March.
Michael's on East is always special, especially for a special occasion. Food great, Service lovely. The restaurant, however, looks "tired" and needs a facelift.
Four of us chose to go to Michael's on East because of the ambiance--and we were not disappointed. Each of us had a salad--very creative, tasty, fresh. We shared a delicious chocolate cake for dessert. The wait staff was attentive and informative. We were also greeted by the owner, which was appreciated. We will go again and again.
We have enjoyed dining at Michael's-on-East for the past 5 years and have compared the service and quality, including presentation, to be similar to our European dining experience; however, that is no longer the case. We went back after a disappointing experience in December based on their email promoting Irish Whiskey flight which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, the evening soured after the visit to the bar. We had to wait almost thirty minutes before our wine was presented. Seems the iPad inventory is not kept current. My Ahi tuna dinner was at best acceptable; the presentation was sloppy with what appeared to be asparagus just dumped on the plate and too many greens crowded the entire dish. No trained expeditor would ever allow a plate to leave the kitchen looking so poorly. My guess, only unsupervised line cooks were on duty that evening. If there were any management on the floor they were not visible. Sadly, it will be a long time before returning.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Great menu options. I had the veal chop which was delicious. My husband had the chicken dish and then another had the sea bass and filet. The filet was not cooked how my son liked it and they were very solicitous towards him to making it right- in the end, they did not charge us for the filet- which was very nice and unnecessary but they went that extra mile! Impressive! We would go back again and Again and not because of that but because the food was delicious!
Everything ( with one exception was perfect) bar tender, piano player , waiter, food - perfect.
Hostess was pretty clueless- we had our reservation, got there early had a drink - never heard from her - 40 minutes later we went back, she could not find the reservation but finally did . Never looked until we got back & never apologized for wasting our time.
Our first time for dinner, we usually dine out for lunch, but it was our anniversary so we decided to go in the evening. We got there early and enjoyed happy hour at the bar. I must admit, next time we will probably eat from the bar menu and enjoy the "buzz" of the happy hour. Loved it!
Having said that, we had a very nice dinner, service was excellent, and we appreciated the complimentary 44th anniversary dessert.
I think Michaels on East is the best place to eat in Sarasota...and we love the wine room.
We plan to eat there often.
The food and the service were outstanding. Very glad that we took a visitor to Sarasota to this restaurant.
We had been to Michaels many times over the past 3 years, and we are never been disappointed. This time, I had the duck breast as part of the monthly theme special. It was seasoned nicely, and cooked just right!
Relaxed atmosphere, great food and extensive wine list.
The lobster bisque is one of their signatures and was outstanding. I had the veal chop and my Wife had swordfish, we were not disappointed, they were delicious, perfectly prepared and presented, as you would expect at Michael's. My only issue (quite minor) was there must have been a large private party in an adjoining room that caused the noise level to tick up a few points. All in all, Michael's remains the best restaurant in Sarasota.
I was celebrating my birthday with my daughter and mother who were visiting ..they both enjoyed the dining experience..
Staff did an excellent job accommodating to my time constraints.
The food was good as always. Good atmosphere and our server Andrew was fantastic! Great experience as always and look forward to returning!
Excellent lunch! Our salads were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. Excellent service. One of my favorite places to go for lunch in Sarasota.
Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Sarasota! And has been for a long time!
EXCELLENT ALL AROUND: venue, ambiance, food, service, special occasion birthday chocolate cake and above all the Epicurean Adventure.
Eager to return for the March Epicurean Adventure!
Great dining experience! Amazing food! Will definitely be coming back. Slow service on one course, but they gave us a dessert as compensation!
Although most of the food was very good, my lobster bisque contained inedible lobster. Way overcooked and gristley. Asparagus very undercooked. Timing of food was bad. Waited almost 10 minutes to even get water. Waiter nice, but was subject to slow kitchen. For these prices, all should move smoothly. Definitely underwhelmed.
Good food, well prepared, very good service, excellent place for a special occasion for
The food had too many overpowering flavors. Too many sauces.
It was my birthday
Food and service as always were excellent, but time for some menu changes. Noise level when we were seated at 645 was very loud
Upscale restaurant with valet parking in south-central Sarasota. Lengthy and imaginative menu. Save room for appetizers and desserts. Somethat pricey even for the tourist strip. Two entrees, a shared appetizer and one cocktail set us back over $100. We learned from our helpful and professional waitress that money goes much further in the bar during happy hour. Consider that approach if you come, if cost is a concern.
Fantastic experience. Great food, great atmosphere and ambiance. Excellent service! Kristy was our server and she was beyond perfect! High-end dining at its' best.
The consistently high quality of food and service make this our go-to location.
Fabulous wine pairings.
A special occasion that was made memorable by Michael’s On East.
Excellent food, lovely ambiance, and wonderful service! Our server, Kathy, was attentive and professional.
We had not been to Michaels in years. We having been missing out!
Great table, terrific service, food was outstanding and wine was great too.
The food was amazing! From appetizers to entree everything was perfect. Server Kathy was fun, knowledgeable and attentive. Great experience!
Michael’s on East is a special place. It’s ambiance beats no other. The food is fabulous and service is impeccable. The only complaint I would have is we were at the piano before dinner having a drink and Joe Michals who plays was a little rude. After dinner we returned for after dinner drink and he was very rude. The only downside of the evening.
always a winner there- we try the Epicurean Adventure almost every time;
they are usually a good value and an EXCELLENT choice!
and the wines and DESSERTS are YUMMY!
