I've eaten at Michael's a number of times, mostly for big events. This time we got a gift card so enjoyed a quiet pre-theater dinner. The food was delicious, but our server, Kimberly, was worth mentioning. Every server should be as personable and delightful. She described dishes for us with enthusiasm, substituted a wine she thought we would like better (and she was right), and was pleasant to all the customers. Thanks, Kimberly.
Birthday dessert was included and EVERYONE came by to say Happy Birthday.
Fabulous food. Good service. Love the atmosphere.
We have been uniformly pleased with our lunches or dinners at Michaels on East. Quality of food, service and atmosphere is superb.
Once again a fabulous lunch with a friend, good food, good service and a comfortable place to be
Our new favorite restaurant. Perfect for a special occasion!
Michael's never disappoints. Everything was outstanding. The wait staff is noticeably very busy, so there was constant motion in the dining room, but the benefit was great attention to detail for every table of diners, with no wait for anything.
Please add the delicious Thai lechee nut dessert to your regular dessert rotation. It was incredibly delicious, and small enough not to overwhelm after such generous entree portions. We will be back!
I have never been disappointed with any of the food selections. Michael serves fresh well crafted meals and worth the reservations and the price. Personally I do not drink, however that does not stop me from being blown away with the depth of there wine selection. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. You honestly get what you pay for.
Thank you for crafting such a high level of quality and enjoyable foods.
Everything was great except for the service. Felt somewhat ignored by the waiter. A little slow going and then he never stopped by after we got our meals to see if everything was okay. With a $360 bill we thought he should have been more attentive.
As always this restaurant come thru. Excellent in all areas and always dependable.
Michaels is our go to restaurant. It’s always a great experience. My girlfriends pork chop came out a little rare and it was immediately taken care of. This was the only time we’ve ever had to send something back. Excellent service and value.
We went to celebrate two birthdays and an anniversary, and once again, Michael's nailed a great meal. Kimberly was our server, very attentive, very personable, was smart enough to laugh at my jokes and could not have been more pleasant. Restaurant was jammed but not too loud, busy but the service wasn't slow. And when the evening was over, they were aware of what we were celebrating and brought a delightful dessert selection. First class, again.
We had a table that was a little more private than we wanted. When we asked the manager if we could move to another table--he was immediately willing to help. That 2nd table made all the difference to us.
Kristi, the waitress, was flawless from start to finish.
We had an excellent experience.
As always the food was excellent as well as the service
We were celebrating 2 Birthdays and had dinner for 5 in the lounge. We requested the lounge because we especially enjoy dining with Joe Micha
We like the feeling of being in a comfortable setting that offers great food and service. Especially like the Epicurean menus. Good place for happy hour.
Always enjoy Michael's on East. Great attentive service.
Waited almost 2 hours for the meal and the waiter didn’t say anything. Bread was not good, lobster bisque very average, scallops great but didn’t serve the vegetable included in the dish and gnocchi wasn’t edible. Got the featured wine but it was really bad. 2 positives: manager really tried to offset the damage (comped my meal and sent desserts) and love Joe Micah’s on the piano. Been to Michael’s multiple times but this experience was so bad I probably won’t go back.
Love everything about this restaurant except the noise level. Way too noisy. You have to yell to be heard. Zagats last survey indicated that this is a major problem for Restarant industry. Given quiet or noisy I will always choose quiet.
Food very good, service excellent, ambiance above average. Noise from bar area mildly disconcerting but tolerable, making conversation strained. Manager's visit was very welcomed and appreciated. Outstanding wine list offers something for every taste and wallet.
Love this place
Noise from bar of large group was so loud it disturbed our intimate dining. Would choose some place else for romantic evening.
There for lunch during the week. Service was good. Food and cocktails were excellent. Ahi tuna salad was very fresh and the margarita with fresh jalapeño great. Will go back.
Caesar salad with jumbo shrimp was super. Duck spring rolls terrible
We had to wait 20 minutes at the bar for a table but everybody was very pleasant and polite. The food is delicious , we had scallops , very tender and the seabass, very buttery. Their sorbet , home made , was absolutely divine. The keylime tart was a bit thick for us but still tasted good.
Dated decor, overly expensive and poor food quality. Too salty, fishy and the mashed potatoes were inedible. Not just bad because the price far exceeded the quality of the food, service and ambience, but just plain bad. Go to Burger King if you are couple going out to dinner and then spend the extra $100 or more you would otherwise spend at Michaels on something you enjoy. In sum - don't go, don't waste your time and money
The food was excellent and the service was great! There were a lot of menu choices. We had a hard time making up our minds.
I have lived most of my life in the area and somehow never made it to Michaels until last Saturday night. I am a gymnastics non-profit program director and I wanted to show my appreciation to some very special teen gymnasts who have volunteered in many ways to assist in the program. I thought they might enjoy a high end restaurant with good food plus it gave them a chance to look and feel elegant. Now these boys and girls ranged from 16-19 years old, so I didn't know what their reaction was going to be. They LOVED it! From the amazing apps to entrees to desserts, Michaels was first class in every way. The service was impeccable and the kids really enjoyed it when their table crumbs were swept away in between courses. They decided they needed to get one of those contraptions to use at home.
We had no less than 4 of the staff attend to us, including a delightful visit from Michael himself who asked the kids where they were from, what school they attended, etc.
I wish I could remember our chief servers name, she was wonderful. Explained everything in plain terms and even brought out a tiny sample of truffle oil when a couple girls were undecided about ordering the truffle Mac and cheese. (They loved it and ate every bit). The two boys eat gluten-free and were able to order delicious dishes that they could enjoy.
The decor was beautiful and our booth and chairs was comfy and allowed our oarty to easily converse with each other. I do enjoy a great dining experience and this one has made my A+list.
My idea of providing a wonderful, upscale, amazing evening to some outstanding, hard-working athletes was perfectly executed by my choice of Michael's on East for the venue. Many thanks to the staff and owner for helping to provide an unforgettable experience. My next visit will be with an adult-only crew in the very near future so I can enjoy some yummy adult beverages!
Our second time here. Service was amazing and every single thing that came our way was a complete hit!
Piano bar and clientele create an environment which is not consistent with a relaxing evening and fine dining experience.
Disappointed. Went on Friday night. Service was average. The piano player was fine until he started singing and butchered every song. Overrated. For the price charged we expected a much better experience. Food was average and overpriced. Will not return.
The good thing about my recent visit was the complete lack of noise however there were only three occupied tables at lunchtime when I was there. I had the Cobb salad and substituted the bacon and chicken with shrimp. There was a $4 up charge for this which the waiter informed me about in advance and to which I agreed. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The eating area is somewhat dark and has an old fashioned feel to it. The valet who parked my car was very pleasant.
disappointing...we have eaten lunch there several times but decided to go for dinner because it was a special occasion.. lunch has always been exceptional but our most recent meal was poor... maybe the chef was sick...
Local favorite...everyone has heard or been to a event catered by Michaels on East. All the accolades in the world do not add up to the warmth and family atmosphere you receive from this establishment.
Staff was welcoming and friendly. food presentation was exquisite. all dishes were delicious and made with the highest quality ingredients.
The time before last it was a Saturday night, so noisy we couldn’t talk without yelling.
This time a Tuesday and we were one of few occupied tables. The service would have been considered very slow even had it been a busy night. Very dull ambiance!
Everything was great but the acoustics are terrible!!
The best part was the piano bar! Joe the piano man was amazing entertaining and really made the evening and on a positive note
Food was fantastic, service great, A beautiful experience
As always, it was a perfect evening.Service was excellent without be over bearing........the food, as always was creative and delicious.
