We waited quite a while before the server approached us and a long time for our drinks. Things moved along nicely once we placed our order.

Great evening. We celebrated our friends 25th Anniversary. A nice chocolate cake was presented at the end of the evening to celebrate the anniversary. Food and service was excellent.

The piano bar was too loud. Made for no conversation! Food was excellent but when things got busy the waiter was not getting any help from others to step up and clear things or check on guests. Loved the waiter but support staff could have been more attentive.

This is one of Sarasota's finest restaurants. The food and service are always excellent. Their outdoor dining area is the best in the area. And we have never been disappointed here. This is alway the place we go when we want to celebrate a special occasion.

As a long-time Michael’s patron, the food is consistently excellent, probably the best in town. We made the mistake of sitting at a high top in the lounge on a Saturday night because our reserved table in the main room was not yet ready. The noise level was deafening, the lounge was packed with no visible social distancing. Predictably the service wasn’t great, yet amazingly the food was incredible. Kudos to the kitchen. Don’t dine in the lounge.

Waiter was amazing, just wish he had mor help. Waited 30 minutes to be seated, with a reservation. Then spent another just waiting on any type of drink. Waiter was running around so much, seemed like they are short staffed. Ended up leaving before even getting our drinks.

All good except for the service. Drinks were comped so at least management tried to make up for the very slow service.

We have eaten at Michael’s several times over the years. This experience was pretty bad. After sitting our party, we had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to approach our table and take a drink order. We never received a wine list and after one hour, we still had not placed an order for food. It took us close to 3 hours to eat and after complaining several times one of the manager’s had to help us.

One of the best meals we’ve had in our couple years in the area as snowbirds... just great service from our server David and a beautiful setting... food choices were terrific

Problem with trying to redeem a $10.00 reward card from Open Table as the waiter brought it back saying it was declined. I gave to waiter with all of the written instructions from Open Table on how to use it at the restaurant. Too noisy and also difficult to explain to waiter what the reward card was. I will have to contact Open Table to get a new reward card as this one will expire before I am able to use it at another restaurant.

We had the New Orleans Prix Fixe meal. Everything was excellent. We both had the oysters and then the duck and trout. Excellent presentation, taste, portion size, temperature. The wait staff was excellent: attentive, but not over-bearing. We have eaten hear many times and will continue to return.

Outstanding food, outstanding ambiance, outstanding service

The price fix was New Orleans theme. Oysters and duck breast were Devine. My husband had the short ribs which he said was excellent. The ambiance in the court yard is lovely, romantic.

Courtyard setting was beautiful and tables well spaced. Wait staff knowledgeable attentive but not intrusive. Multiple options to choose from. Food well prepared and delicious.

Wonderful evening. We dined outdoors and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend.

I think in Sarasota for over 30 years and i hear so much about Michael on the east!
I was lucky enough to go tonight with a couple.
it’s overrated expensive and I was not impressed the spinach was very salty the
Fillet mignon was not juicy it was dry .
I’m sorry but that’s my opinion I won’t be going back

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Michael's On East. I had the special New Orleans meal, which was excellent. My wife had the lobster bisque (excellent) and the scallops and shrimps as main course. The shellfish was excellent, but the accompanying ravioli was very disappointing -- drenched in too much olive oil and the filling had leaked out, plus they were very doughy. And, there was just too much ravioli, which overwhelmed the dish. Service was good, although there was a slight mix-up over whether we had received the main courses or not. The draft beer and per glass wine offerings were also rather limited. We'd definitely give Michael's On East another try, since the the positives more than outweighed the minor negatives.

Great food. Got the New Orleans fixed price meal. The gumbo was excellent, however, it could have used a little hot sauce. The pork medallions were tender and tasty in more or less in a ratatouille sauce. The dessert was a banana foster in a waffle cone served in a mason jar - a bit over the top.

Can't share much if the experience as after arriving to a hightop in the bar area, they were obviously poorly staffed and one server had 4 tables of varying degrees of completion. After waiting 10 minutes to be greated and have a drink order.. we immediately saw a group of 6 people walk to the bar and get drinks immediately. We then felt uncomfortable and moved to a more secluded location as my wife is immunosuppressant and waited another 10 minutes with not more contact. Frustrated we left... Sorry as this had previously been a very enjoyable destination. Very dissappointed as we did not have time to complain as my wife is also diabetic and sugar was dropping. We went to another restraraunt.

Easily the best steak I’ve ever had at any restaurant. Service was excellent. Sat outside in the courtyard and it was picturesque. Plan to make regular visits.

David, the waiter, was great. Good was first-rate. The luxor space is gorgeous.

The food was overpriced for the quality and service received. They forgot to do anything for the wife's birthday celebration. Would not go back.

It was our first time here. Chose this location for Valentine’s day because of other reviews and pictures. We had outside seating reservations at 5:15 and were sat upon arrival. After that it was absurdly slow service. Food was extremely overpriced for average quality. Took 30 minutes to receive our drinks and 1.5 hours to receive food. They were not busy and had plenty of available tables. The hanging lights were very pretty and set a beautiful scene.

The service was outstanding. We both had black seabass. The fish was cooked to perfection. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and a great place to go for a special occasion.

As always, Michaels on East is an over all beautiful experience. From the service to the food everything is always amazing! We almost always take our kids ages 8 and 10 to dine with us and they are treated just as special as the next guest.
