Michaels is and has been the best Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. Food is second to none and service is impeccable. It’s a family owned and operated restaurant where you feel like family when you walk in. - Bart
This is my go to for Italian in Brooklyn. Classic Italian food in a classic Italian atmosphere. the sauce is top notch and elevates every pasta dish. i would eat here for dinner every night if i could!
Great food, great service and wonderfully decorated for Christmas. This was our fourth annual Christmas family dinner and Michael's just seems to get better every year. This is the best Italian restaurant we've been to in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Long Island. Go. You'll thank me for recommending Michael's.
Excellent food and service as always.
From the second we walked in we had the best experience. We were greeted by one of the owners. Drinks were perfect. Food was impeccable. Chilean sea bass was so fresh and perfectly prepared.
Best Italian restaurant in Brooklyn
The Food and service is 5 Stars..Been coming here since I was a kid 50 years ago..
Constant favorite. Lamb shank was larger enough for my entire table.
Old world dining, excellent food and a first class waiter/staff. Take you date and enjoy the outing!
As always, service and food were spot on! We were dining with dear friends from out of town and explained we wanted a traditional Italian meal ( apps/antipasto followed by some pasta and then our mains). He tweaked the servings, plated our foods expertly and helped make the evening special. the marinara sauce was as fresh tasting as a bite of a ripe, summer tomato and the Veal Smash Job proved once again to be one of the best combinations of meat, cheese and sauce on the planet!
Jackie is a great waiter
Attentive service from experienced staff. Great for families- they gave our toddler a little teddy bear as we were seated and the waiter offered a half portion of pasta so we didn’t have to buy an adult size. Drinks were very reasonable, we got a bottle of Tattinger champagne for about what it costs at a wine shop. A wonderful, welcoming dining experience. A great place to take out of town visitors. We’ll definitely be back!
Not up to par by any means. Big disappointment from previous meals.
Cacio e Pepe was like Mac and cheese swimming in sauce bolognese sauce had NO FLAVOR AT ALL
Portobello & fava bean also a dud
Clam sauce lacked flavor
Chicken scarpiello also lacked flavor from previous meals
We are all wondering if there is a new chef??? If so, needs more training
WAS NOT WORTH THE 40 minute drive 2 out of 5
One of the best places for date night or really any time you want a damn good Italian feast with service to match. Nothing better in Brooklyn and arguably in the city. Not the cheapest but it is great value for the money. You leave happy and you won't feel like sheep.
Food is great and service is fantastic. Atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Great place for family outings.
Nothing but the best food and service while dining here at Michaels of Brooklyn.
Always an outstanding meal. The freshest ingredients, made to order. Each dish and side was superb. The wine list has excellent choices. All in all, one of the best Italian restaurants in the tri-state area. You need to have a meal at Michael's.
Do you really want to know? We sat and waited 25 minutes to be seated with a reservation and were put in the back corner . The server made NUMEROUS mistakes - one after the other and it was such a turn off and ruined what was to be a nice date night out because I had nothing but stress . I ordered a diet coke no lemon and I got an iced tea with a lemon / I ordered mozzarella carozza appetizer to start and I got a plate of fresh mozzarella so by the time it was fixed her appetizer was done and my dinner entree was right behind it - we did not get bread . A VERY nice gentleman kept coming over and apologizing ( I wish I got his name) Its as if he knew how bad my dining experience was . He told me please have dessert on me and so we did and then that was on the check / not taken off ???? Just a VERY BAD dining experience but do not get me wrong the FOOD was excellent its just that the service was a HORROR SHOW - BTW that same very nice man that apologized 5 x to me ran out after me and gave me back cash for the dessert I paid for that was to be free and said Sorry for the 6th time I thought that was SO classy and professional - HE made the night with his kind heart and care
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Best veal parm period.
I can’t believe I’ve been driving by this place my whole life. It’s a gem! My new favorite restaurant. Can’t wait to go back
The service was terrific. I totally enjoyed my meal. I had fried Calamari as an appetizer and Salmon Livornese for the main course. Absolutely delicious.
Fantastic meal with exceptional service!
Excellent food although a little pricey. Service was very good and friendly. Place very clean.
The great food and exceptional service are sadly overshadowed by the exorbitant prices. I loved the chicken francese but $29 for two thin slices is simply insane. The service is beyond professional and accommodating. If you are looking for a classy old-school Italian—and you have an expense account—it’s highly recommended.
Amazing food, and incredible service! I will definitely be going back.
We all really enjoyed our family birthday celebration at Michaels! The only criticism I would offer is that after our first order of cocktails, they didn’t ask if we wanted another round or a bottle of wine. It was fine since we are not big drinkers, but I would have liked to have a glass of wine with my meal. We will definitely be back.
Michaels of Brooklyn is by far the best restaurant I ever went to. The food was better than I could ever imagine! The service was superb. I highly recommend this place to anyone who will listen!
As always the food and service were sensational. I’ve been dining her with family and friends for over 40 years. I’m Italian and this food would make my mother and grandmother proud. Gerry is one of our favorite servers always smiling and making us feel at home.
Great as always! The food is excellent, and the service is the best around.
Everything about our experience was wonderful, from the delicious food to the outstanding service. Love this place!
Enjoyed a lovely dinner with delicious food and excellent service. Michaels never disappoints!
Food was great and so was the service. Would recommend to anyone.
Amazing food and insanely good service
Great place, great service and the food was delicious. They have a wide array of menu options.
My husband is from Brooklyn but in all his years never went to this restaurant. So finally we made our way. It was fabulous. Servers very friendly and helpful. From hot antipasto to main dishes nothing to complain about. We will go back.
The food at Michael's is consistently excellent. From the delicious bread basket and antipasto to the appetizers, entrees and desserts, you can't go wrong from anything on the menu!! Service is always excellent too. Michael's is one of the best!!
Went to Michaels for a birthday dinner. Really classic, perfectly cooked Italian food. The service was fantastic - and it was very busy night. I can't wait to return!
Couldn't walt to try this iconic venue and after a 90 minute ride from central NJ, we arrived promptly for our reservation only to be told there was a little wait which turned into a 40 minute wait. We had a table on top of the bar where there was constant in and out traffic. Our waiter took drink orders and forget one drink. Appetizers came out quickly and were unimpressive for the price. Our meals took almost an hour with not one person checking to see if we needed water or another drink. When someone from the kitchen came to us to say there was a problem in the kitchen, we were ready to leave. All in all, one of the most underwhelming, overpriced restaurants I'd ever experienced. You'd do better at your local pizzeria! And at one quarter of the cost.
Delicious food , great service, very friendly staff
