The restaurant seems to be quite popular...filled up completely and quickly for lunch. A Little noisy. The Nicoise salad was tasty and fresh, but for $34 a little steep on the price (maybe its the NYC location ..midtown...and cost of overhead)...could add a few more morsels of the tuna and 2 more halves of the fingerling potatoes and a few more verticot vert (green beans).
The staff was attentive, professional, accommodating. (I asked to be moved from a drafty window on a cold day) and welcoming.
For lunch for just a salad and Perrier water, >$50 a little steep. The bottle of Perrier was $10...but they did ask if I wanted sparkling....I may try the place for dinner at some point.
Phenomenal! Excellent table and service. Highly recommend.
the food is great and the location is very convenient.
the service is first class and the people-watching is so fun!
while the room is busy and fun, the tables are spread-out enough to allow real conversations.
the owner (Michael) walks the room and has a very good handle on his business and customers.
this restaurant has a great reputation and it is well deserved ... congratulations!
The food is creative and perfectly prepared. The seating is comfortable, and there is ample room between tables. Our waitress was a bit aggressive in ‘selling’ food and drink. The wine list is super but the mark-ups on the wines were breath-taking.
No atmosphere, waitress without personality and a sommelier that thinks he is the best in NYC.
We had an awful time an PLEASE change the the carpet to eood or something more contemporary
I inadvertently made a reservation for the wrong date, but they were able to sort it out and accommodate us for lunch, which was lovely. Really great kitchen here.
My only complaint is that the waiter did not offer the price point on the specials - I don't think the patron should have to ask. I should have asked. The Dover Sole was outstanding, but I wouldn't have paid $70 for it had I known (about double any other entree).
Nonetheless, I'll be back. This place is terrific.
The staff was warm and friendly to a fault. Food was fresh, well-presented and interesting. The decor is highlighted by numerous artworks that collectively create a lively and sophisticated atmosphere. In back, there is a "garden room" that would be excellent for business-casual to semi-formal events of medium size.
The very dated interior made me nervous upon entry, but we were given a great table in the front window. The service was very good, but the food was the star. The menu was varied; everything we ordered was extremely fresh, not over buttered or sauced, and elegantly prepared. Don’t judge a book by the cover, as the meal delivers.
I highly recommend the mushroom pizza and the duck.
Fabulous seasonal ingredients prepared perfectly. Love
very good experience, relaxed with exceptional menu
Very quiet for dinner.
The truffle pizza is the best pizza I have ever had - and that is saying something. The crust is perfection, as are the toppings. I shared the pizza with a friend and we each had a salad as well (Nicoise and Cobb) and we had a delicious lunch. Excellent service as well!
Perfect spot for a business breakfast or lunch. Great food, great staff, and last week Michael was in early to greet his patrons.
Very good food and ambiance with great menu and daily specials.
Went with 2 co-workers for a holiday lunch. Food was delicious and the setting was beautiful.
As usual, great staff, food and experience. Thank you.
Michaels is stellar, always wonderful food and great service. A must in NYC!
Great as always.
Delicious dinner! Great atmosphere, menu, location and waitstaff.
I love Michael’s. It’s the perfect breakfast spot for a business meeting and I will only go here if at all possible.
Too expensive, had a $28 burger and had to pay extra for fries
Only if u need to rub shoulders with the power People who lunch. Mediocre food at crazy prices
As always the food was excellent, but the place is a little tired. Needs some TLC as to the physical appearance.
Disappointing. Service OK but not the food
Not at all good value for a price tag of $100 per person
We were treated to and enjoyed fantastic service from the moment we walked in. My husbands burger was amazing and perfectly cooked. My lamb was very good. We left with delicious cookies. Overall a lovely experience
Michael’s is always a pleasure no matter what the occasion. The service is friendly and professional and the cuisine is consistently delicious.
Unfortunately the signature California Omelet was bland and uneven, and the potatoes served with it were cold. Some of the staff (the hostess, for example) seemed a little rude. If it were priced more reasonably I'd be able to ignore these shortcomings, but having paid $50 per person for a weekday breakfast, makes these mistakes hard to overlook.
Excellent, but pricey, meal several times a year for any occasion. I have been dining here for 20 years.
It’s always a party at Michaels. Loved it.
Excellent food, superb wine list, grest service - I am rarely if ever disappointed at Michael's
Wait staff was great. Food was hot and delicious. We did not feel rushed at all.
One of my favorite restaurants. Whenever I am in NYC I try to stop by. Service is great, food excellent, and the atmosphere is sophisticated. I wish I lived nearby.
Awesome service and delicious food
Really great time. I had a terrific salad - which was huge - and the grilled octopus was some of the best I have ever had!
Shut down a little early
Fabulous Food - Fantastic Staff - great for power business lunches. The very best
Have been here many times - always great food , service . No hovering waiters . Great for an intimate dinner or a business lunch . Bartenders know there craft !!
Great spot for a business breakfast or lunch. Excellent!
