good service, website needs updating as it differs from the menu in price and available items. Food is okay but definitely noy worth the cost.
I was excited to try this restaurant out; had heard great reviews about it. They were quick to get us our table, even a few minutes before our reservation. After that, the experience was downhill. They did not have a great variety of food on their menu. We ordered the fried Brie appetizer, which was way better than expected; it was the only good that came out of this experience.
The price for the food was a little over the top. My kids ordered the waffles with chocolate chips for $10, no sides, or extras. I’m expecting a nice size waffle to come out. What came out looked like two frozen waffles bought from the local grocery store.
My food was not seasoned at all. I got the filet omelet. The steak was cooked perfectly, but had no taste. The home potatoes were dry and over cooked.
My wife’s food, ribeye steak sandwich, was dry and the Parmesan fries were a joke, a few pieces of shredded Parmesan cheese melted on fries.
Just extremely disappointed for the amount of money that was spent and the quality of service received. We barely saw our waitress. Probably will not come back, not will I recommend this place to anyone.
This is a great little restaurant. The food is really good and it feels intimate, plus they have a outside area to eat. I love it.
The food is awesome, love the atmosphere, staff is pleasant and nice. We went on mothers day. Got pretty crowded, but food was delivered timely. Chef is awesome!
We went to Michael's Grill with friends. All of us enjoyed our meals immensely. The various appetizers were quite good, especially the escargot that had a homemade puff pastry along with it. The wine list is small but has many nice wines from which to chose.
Slow service but, the food was awesome ! If you have time I would definitely recommend! Crab bisque and seafood omelette were both great.
Food was good. Fairly pricey for average entrees. I was charged extra for Tito’s vodka when the description of the drink specifically mentioned Tito’s. I didn’t ask to modify anything about the drink so I’m not sure what the cause of that was. Nice locally owned restaurant but prices don’t match the quality of the food. For what I spent here I could had a night out at Bern’s.
Excellent meal, great service. Space was a bit loud for easy conversation.
It was a very busy night with a lot of groups enjoying themselves. Food as always was excellent.
Consistent good food and great, service. Love going to family owned non chain restaurant.
Always love their specials and today did not disappoint
We have not been to Michael's Grill in a couple of years. We were meeting friends and they suggested we dine there because they had been wanting to try it and we had always had good experiences there so we agreed. All in all it was another good experience. The décor is starting to look a bit tired and the menus are worn, but it does have a warm bistro kind of ambiance that is nice. All of the food was quite good with the exception of the onion soup and fried onions served with the steak (come to think of it they are on the onion soup as well). There was a raw flour taste to the fried onions that was quite unpleasant. But between appetizers, salads, entrees, and deserts....the fried onions was the only blemish. Our server was young and looked a bit frazzled by the number of guests she was having to tend to, so the service was a bit slow and impersonal and our drinks were not refreshed as often as I prefer. We never had a manager or chef check in on us, which I seem to recall they used to do quite consistently. I would definitely be happy to return, especially given all the chain restaurants in the Carrollwood area...it is nice to have a neighborhood bistro for some variety.
Excellent as always!! The entire staff makes eating here a pleasure.
The food and service is consistently good. Great variety of salads and sandwiches. They are very accommodating for people with food allergies that is why I like to go to Michael’s Grill.
Great experience here. It was a beautiful night, so sat outside. Grouper was outstanding. Service very good.
Always love coming to Michael's Grill and bringing guests from out of town. Food and service were excellent. We sat outside on Easter Sunday with the beautiful weather and great service, our guests were raving about this place. Will keep coming back for sure!
Easter Brunch was amazing!
We were greeted upon arrival and seated promptly (we had reservations). The ambiance was cozy and comfortable and perfect for brunch! The food was excellent and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal immensely! We will return!
The food was great and the service fantastic. No wonder Michael's has been in business so long, Just a great experience.
Sat at bar and watched the chefs at their best. What a sight to see such orchestration and taste the results.
We shared the Crab cake appetiser which was really good
Then for mains I had the shrimp linguine which was ok but a bit lacking in flavour, and my partner had the tequila lime chicken. The chicken had probably been cooked before and reheated so was extremely dry. He mentioned this to the server who brought him extra sauce which helped. Also the piece of chicken was rather small. However the pasta dish was large with plenty of shrimp - so my partner finished mine as there was too much for me!
It is a very different restaurant to most we’ve experienced in the USA with more of a European feel. Certainly individual which was lovely.
A little on the pricey side - especially for the wine which was nice but not exceptional for $36 a bottle!
We always enjoy our meals at Michael's Grill. They prepare their dishes with fresh ingredients and everything is delicious.
Adorable place with great, enthusiastic service. It was a perfect spot for a Sunday brunch - great cocktails, great food and great service!
Always a Delicious and Cozy evening!! The staff and Owners are Fabulous!!!!!
One of our go-to spots when we want a great meal and service. We had the Pompano (special), delicious. For an app we had the sweet chili calamari. Outstanding!
Looking forward to our next visit.
Every dish on the new brunch menu is scrumptious! Loved the shrimp and grits presentation; the Tasso ham and gruyere grits was nice twist on the typical recipe. Trust Michaels to add something special to the ordinary and make it superb!
Always a pleasure. Appreciate the small intimate setting, superb friendly service and good culinary representation. Great way to celebrate my Birthday.
I have enjoyed lunch and brunch at Michael's Grill a number of times over the years and have always had an excellent experience. The service and the food is wonderful.
As always the service and food was outstanding! The short-rib eggs benedict was delicious.
Delightful intimate restaurant and bar with very good food. Owner is the chef and occasionally greets diners.
This is one of the best meals I have ever had. Met Michael, and our waitress Lexi was Divine. If your in Tampa this is a must. From the appetizer to dessert, it was absolutely marvelous.
The food was excellent and of a good variety. The service was just as good as the food and the server/chef was more than willing to make minor adjustments to the menu to meet our requirements. The wine was perfect as well.
We like Michaels grill for breakfast, its a bit of a drive for us but sometimes we want a nice sit down meal. The atmosphere is nice, clean and has outside seating. I think this time we hit it on an off day. The coffee was super strong, and I like strong coffee this was not the norm. My farmers breakfast was good except everyone at my table that ordered bacon got burned to crispy. Biscuits are always good. We will be back but I will make sure they know not to over cook my bacon, not everyone likes it that way. Thanks.
One of the daily special was American Red Snapper. It was bland and over cooked, making the fish tasteless and rubbery texture. Appetizers were good and filling, but so disappointed in the main meal.
Service and food were excellent the chocolate moose was delightful
A great neighborhood restaurant. No million dollar interiors just a nice comfortable place to enjoy a well prepared dinner with friends. Interesting menu with a variety of selections so that everyone can find something they like. The wine list will probably have a number of selections rhat you are not knowledgeable of. I pay a lot of attention to wine but there are always a number of wines on the list I have not heard of. Always willing to try something new and have never been disappointed by an unknown wine. Give it a Try!
The food is always great! They have an updated wine menu, which we love. The owners & staff are friendly & service oriented.
Maybe they were having an off night but it was not a great experience for us. I booked a table for 6 people and originally they showed us to a table for four people even though they had it written as 6 people. Food was disappointing for the price. Shrimp was rubbery/over cooked. They knew the occasion was for a birthday (again it was written on their reservation), but never asked whose birthday. At the end of the meal, no dessert was offered (they just gave us the check when clearing the plates even though one person was still finishing her meal). Complete contrast to the night before when we were celebrating someone else’s birthday and we went to Sacred Pepper. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought a birthday dessert for her. Special touches like that will keep me going back.
Delicious gourmet food and they now have a full bar. Love this place
