One of the daily special was American Red Snapper. It was bland and over cooked, making the fish tasteless and rubbery texture. Appetizers were good and filling, but so disappointed in the main meal.
Service and food were excellent the chocolate moose was delightful
A great neighborhood restaurant. No million dollar interiors just a nice comfortable place to enjoy a well prepared dinner with friends. Interesting menu with a variety of selections so that everyone can find something they like. The wine list will probably have a number of selections rhat you are not knowledgeable of. I pay a lot of attention to wine but there are always a number of wines on the list I have not heard of. Always willing to try something new and have never been disappointed by an unknown wine. Give it a Try!
The food is always great! They have an updated wine menu, which we love. The owners & staff are friendly & service oriented.
Maybe they were having an off night but it was not a great experience for us. I booked a table for 6 people and originally they showed us to a table for four people even though they had it written as 6 people. Food was disappointing for the price. Shrimp was rubbery/over cooked. They knew the occasion was for a birthday (again it was written on their reservation), but never asked whose birthday. At the end of the meal, no dessert was offered (they just gave us the check when clearing the plates even though one person was still finishing her meal). Complete contrast to the night before when we were celebrating someone else’s birthday and we went to Sacred Pepper. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought a birthday dessert for her. Special touches like that will keep me going back.
Delicious gourmet food and they now have a full bar. Love this place
Always a great experience! Thank you!
Enjoyed a great meal here - the crab cakes and the salmon dishes were really excellent. Nice neighborhood restaurant!
We were in Tampa for one night and wanted to eat at a good restaurant. We went on Open Table and found Michael’s Grill.
What a wonderful restaurant!!!!!!! I had the pasta and my husband had the pork Diane and both were outstanding. The owner and his wife both stopped by the table during the evening, they are great people. The service was excellent👍👍👍👍👍.
When we return to Tampa we will makes we go back. Thanks for a wonderful evening!!!!??
I e tried this place several times and just ferl the stmosphete is nice but the goid is pretty tasteless
Really enjoyed our meals but neither of us saw other items on the menu to bring us back. Very limited menu means it'll be a while before we go back to get the same meals, regardless of how much we enjoyed them.
Food was excellent but our main waitress never gave us the specials for the night nor did she stop by to see if we wanted another cocktail during our meal. In addition, I think it is very rude to clear the table of dishes while a person is still eating their dinner. Also, our coffee came out luke warm and when we mentioned it to our main waitress she never offered to bring us a fresh hot cup but just apologized . In lieu of these minor comments we will definitely be returning since the food and all the wait staff that took care of our table were fantastic.
Michael's Grill was fantastic, they were able to accommodate our large party. The food delicious, great atmosphere and the service was wonderful...Overall a great neighborhood gem to have brunch.
We had a group of 10, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Appetizers were great. Wine selection was good, but not great, which is the only knock. However, the wine they had by the glass we very good.
Brunch was great especially the Seafood Omelette. Fast and Friendly service.
Great food. Restaurant is clean. Nice ambience. Specials are tasty but expensive.
It had been a while since we dined at Michael’s Grill, and it was for no particular reason. We decided to have dinner there on a Friday night. Our server Claudia was very sweet, seemed a little nervous at first but definitely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience. The soup starters and egg roll appetizers were delicious. As for our entrees, 1 person ordered the pork meal and 3 of us ordered the Grouper special. We were all very happy with our meals. Andrea kindly came to greet us at our table as well, which we feel gives the dining experience a personal touch. We appreciated that. The food, wine and service is always delightful at Michael’s Grill and we will most certainly be back soon!
Their specials, especially fish, are always outstanding!!
Michael's Grill is a great find. We drove over from Clearwater based on the reviews on line. We were very impressed with the service, the quality and presentation of the food and the overall atmosphere. Micheal's is definitely on our return list.
Wonderful! Handed large group on a very busy night. We dined outside and was kept warm with warmers. Food was outstanding!!
The wait staff was very courteous and attentive. The food was outstanding, with every dish being excellent.
There were a couple of large groups there and it was extremely noisy and hard to carry on a conversation.
But if you want outstanding food and excellent service, this is the place to come
Would have liked to have know ahead of time that the prices would be raised for Valentine's day and it would be a limited menu.. I have food allergies and had a specific meal in mind..
I paid $45 for the Paris Steak" Decent presentation and good flavors, BUT the stake was too tough to eat. When we told the waitress she said "I'm very sorry" and that was it, no replacement, no decreased charge, nada! It was our wedding anniversary, I was happy and wanted to stay that way so we paid up and left, NEVER TO RETURN.
I don’t recommend Michael’s Grill for Valentine’s Day. The options were limited and forced us to spend a lot more than we would have on another night. It feels like we’re being taken advantage of, and the staff was uninformed about the menu. We ordered steak and cheese egg rolls, and we were told there was “a little bit of broccoli” in them...only to find that they were essentially broccoli egg rolls with barely any steak and cheese. As one of us doesn’t like broccoli, when we said something, the server asked if we wanted something else. We got crab cakes and were charged full price for both. It was a very expensive and disappointing night.
Beautiful setting and wonderful service. For the price the food could’ve been much better. I had the tenderloin which was good but the sides were mediocre to say the least.
Food was great. Service was terrific. a great dining experience, especially for Valentines Day1
The food was excellent! Best salmon I’ve ever tasted. Best crab cakes too. Filet awesome. My only issue is it’s a bit pricey which means we cannot come often.
After calling two weeks ahead to ask if they would have their usual menu, I was surprised to see a Special Valentine's Day menu with significantly higher prices and different entrees. I could not have been more disappointed. We started with the Valentines salad which was mixed greens with strawberries and a sprinkling of feta. There were literally two slices of strawberries so it was more of a garnish. My husband had Scottish Salmon that was accompanied by an uninspired side of mixed vegetables. I usually get grouper but unfortunately it wasn't on the special menu so I went with the duck. It was the worst $37 dollars I've spent....it actually tasted like bbq fatty pork. The sauce was inedible and I had to scrape it off. To finish off an unfortunate evening, we had to ask for them to point a noisy fan away from us since the cold air was blowing towards our table and the fan noise made it difficult to have a conversation.
Fun and unique lunch atmosphere.
The family went to celebrate my mother’s 94th birthday and everything was perfect
The food was fair as well as the ambience. But the service was VERY SLOW and our server was mediocre. We had to reminder her about several things we had ordered (like side dishes) which she never brought over; then, she said she had taken those off from our bill but she did not.
Cozy restaurant; owners are very welcoming. Food was great! Loved the eggs Benedict and the special - a short rib omelette. No fancy coffees.
Been there before and had a great experience which is why my wife and I went back. This time, we had 7:15 reservations. We saw many people get seated before us. When we finally were sat down at 7:50, I had to get up at 8:20 to ask for a waiter to come over. By the time we got food it was 8:50pm. Really very bad service! Totally disappointed and likely won’t go back.
Food and service were impeccable. I am never disappointed with the food or the service.
Dinner was wonderful. We are never disappointed here.
Fantastic food. Made fresh and wonderful. Get away from chain restaurants and start eating at local GREAT restaurants!
We have been wanting to try Michaels Grill based on Open Table reviews and had a great meal. Food, atmosphere and service were all top notch. Will definitely add it to our list of favorites even though it is a 45 minute drive for us.
One of the few really great neighborhood (i.e., not a chain) restaurants in Carrollwood Village.
The appetizers were excellent but the entrees we ordered were just okay.
