Michael's Genuine Food & Drink Ratings and Reviews
The food was very good. Although we specified that we didn't like garlic, and specified one item that we didn't want it. The waitress didn't know to suggest that polenta and grits were precooked with lots of garlic. Granted it was a busy sunday brunch.
We went there for brunch and she suggested 3 dishes per person to share. We had the smoked salmon, Shrimp and grits, Soft Polenta, Baked eggs side of bacon, Breakfast pizza (not sure if I remember the name right) and ended with the buttermilk pancakes. It was plenty of food even thought two of us skipped the polenta and grit. We started with bloody marys and then the sommelier suggested a very good red wine.
Michael’s Genuine is not just the best brunch in Miami, it is one of the best in the country. The food is beyond fresh, the menu is creative, the service is terrific, and the food is to die for! We tried yesterday to pick our favorite from the 8 items we had ordered but the best we could do was finally agree that maybe six of them were tied for spectacular! We have been to Michael’s many times, the food is always wonderful. The only downside is that once in awhile the kitchen gets overwhelmed but this is a “can’t miss” destination.
We waited 1 1/2 hours for the roast chicken. They presented the chicken and asked if we wanted it cut into pieces. We said yes, and the chicken then disappeared for 40 minutes more! Meanwhile, most of our table had finished their dinners and were ready to leave.
I don't blame the waiter. He was great. The process simply didn't work!
The restaurant has been at the same spot for over 10 years, nice for outside dining a bit crowded inside. The food is good well presented but a bit on the high side. One thing I personally did not like is they charge $5.00 for bread but our waiter did not mentioned the charge to us. Another thing which irritates me is getting the bill before we had drank our wine or eaten dessert.. The food was good a bit bland for my taste nothing to brag about to your friends, the service needs improving.
Enjoyable evening with great service. Food was good but not excellent. We very much liked the octopus but found the portion small. The crab claw and fish maincourse were excellent. Very disappointed by the beef which was dry and uninteresting. Service was impeccable and ambience pleasant.
we had an excellent meal. Emmet was our server and he was great. we also, brought my granddaughter and we were accommodated in a very nice area of the restaurant where her compact stroller took the space of a chair and it was all good.
this place is always consistent.
bring back the banana dessert that you guys used to have.
We are frequent and longtime customers and unfortunately lasts nights experience was unacceptable.
They seated us over 90 minutes past our reservation, the hostesses we’re unaccommodating, when my husband went to the bar to order a cocktail the bartender with glasses and a beard told my husband he would not serve him. This was very strange.
We support Michael’s year round... when it’s busy and when it’s empty. I️ was disappointed in the service last night and thought you should know.
Great Afternoon Brunch ambience was vibrant.. pet friendly Had the steak and eggs they were wonderful. One guest was Vegan took a moment to figure out want to eat.( not to many options)Sundays are busy so service is a bit slow I think its worth the wait . As always Michaels is fantastic overall. Then take a stroll to all the beautiful shops.
