Michael's Genuine Food & Drink Ratings and Reviews
we had an excellent meal. Emmet was our server and he was great. we also, brought my granddaughter and we were accommodated in a very nice area of the restaurant where her compact stroller took the space of a chair and it was all good.
this place is always consistent.
bring back the banana dessert that you guys used to have.
We are frequent and longtime customers and unfortunately lasts nights experience was unacceptable.
They seated us over 90 minutes past our reservation, the hostesses we’re unaccommodating, when my husband went to the bar to order a cocktail the bartender with glasses and a beard told my husband he would not serve him. This was very strange.
We support Michael’s year round... when it’s busy and when it’s empty. I️ was disappointed in the service last night and thought you should know.
Great Afternoon Brunch ambience was vibrant.. pet friendly Had the steak and eggs they were wonderful. One guest was Vegan took a moment to figure out want to eat.( not to many options)Sundays are busy so service is a bit slow I think its worth the wait . As always Michaels is fantastic overall. Then take a stroll to all the beautiful shops.
Been many times, but not in the last year. Was very disappointing. I took a friend who had never been, and both felt we would never go again. The broccoli salad did not taste fresh. The anchovies were in the dressing (which was way too heavy) and over powering. The falafel was dry and also didn’t taste fresh. Was also disappointed in the service. The waiter was aggressively trying to sell us, and then rush us out.
We love coming to dine here! However we wish there were more options for vegans and vegetarians. We are transitioning to a plant based diet...and would hate not having options. The food is so creative here that we know a plant based dish or two would likely be heaven here!
Would definitely return...
Had no problem getting a reservation for 2 for a Wed. night but, luckily for us, ended up nabbing two seats at the bar which is always our preference. We arrived at the tail end of happy hour and the excellent bar tender urged us to order drinks quickly. We were seated quite close to the fabulous raw bar "show". I say that because I could not take my eyes off the way the guy in charge effortlessly cracked snow crab claws, assembled ceviche bowls and fluidly made it all appear easy in his very capable hands. Don't ever lose that employee! Drinks and food were great. Overall excellent experience.
We have been many times but need to comment on the poor service. From forgotten drinks, having to ask for our waiter to clear dishes, pouring our own wine to long waits, we will think twice before returning. It's almost like it changed owners - the food it is fabulous - so the chef hasn't changed.
I always love the food at Michael's (it's my favorite restaurant), but this past Saturday our service was terrible. Our server did not check in with us once after taking our order and we had to wait over 30 minutes for our food (while the tables around us got theirs). Food was outstanding but the service was not. Luckily, a nice man working there noticed and was able to fill in the gaps our server left.
2 o'clock res, arrived right at 2, still had to wait for a table. Service was slow. Two of the four items we ordered had ingredients listed on the menu that were nowhere to be found when the dishes were served to the table. The tuna crudo listed blood orange on the menu, instead we received canned mandarins. The rice cake mentioned chorizo and rock shrimp, there was zero chorizo and less than a sparse amount of rock shrimp. The food we received was not bad, it just wasn't as advertised.
Substituting or completely eliminating ingredients listed on the menu without informing the customer is entirely unacceptable. Most definitely will not return.
Have eaten there before and had a 4/5 star experience - that was 3-4 years ago. Our last experience this weekend was abysmal. Our waiter got cut mid meal due to rain and thought less people would come for dinner because of the weather. Ok, so new waiter gets tagged in - he is completely aloof, disinterested, and did not seem to have any interest in the experience, the 45 delay between our apps and main course, etc. Oh, and the full snapper was 2.5 pounds of overcooked fish. Looked beautiful, tasted not so beautiful....no apologies, no acknowledgement for logistical issues, etc. Just a crap experience at a place that should come with a quality experience and quality food.
In an apparent effort to turn as many tables as possible, Michaels has completely packed the outside breezeway. The noise is one thing. Service also seems to have suffered. As has attention to detail. After telling our server of my peanut allergy I got a “sure I’ll let the kitchen know.” Halfway through my short rib I felt something in my mouth that did not have the texture of delicious fall apart meat: a piece of crushed peanut. I don’t know where the breakdown occurred (and thankfully I noticed and discontinued chewing that bite of food), but I can’t help but think that in having the kitchen churn out food for what looks for all the world to be more than it can handle at one time, important details get missed.
Michael's is one of our favorite restaurants. Real quality food with a casual environment. Michael is able to make dishes that might not sound that great that truly are! There's great variety on the menu - plenty of options for lighter and bigger eaters. The wine list is terrific. It's the best restaurant we've been to in Miami.
Food was delicious I have been to Michaels many more times for dinner than for brunch and it was a while since my last brunch there. The menu was much more tasty than any description and the cocktails really good.
We had a minor time confusion with our reservation but they handled it very well and fair enough quick.
Service was not the best this time but was ok.
