TERRIBLE!!!!!
We waited 2 hours for a meal that never arrived, UNBELIEVABLE!!!
When we asked the waiter he said that he forgot to place the order because he was really busy..... then we had the manager over and apologized for the inconvenience and assured us that he was going to take care of everything and that we would have our food soon, after 40 minutes still we had nothing, and we decided to leave finally after 2 hours of waiting and begging for the food and then they said that everything was ready and that they could pack it.
No other word would describe our experience as TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE and TERRIBLE!!!!! What a waste of time.

As a local, Michael's Genuine has remained my constant "Go to" spot for many years. Although there are many new Miami spots opening on a daily basis, Michael's has them beat in many areas that are of importance. The instant diners are warmly welcomed into the space, a well trained symbiotic team is immediately set into motion. Once seated, top notch servers easily provide concise detailed cuisine offerings steering diners to select a gastronomically satisfying experience. Food delivery is smooth with on-the-mark timing. Remarkably, my memory wanes for an instance of a food deliverance sans utensils (as required for the humble act of eating) while the food remained the delivered correct temperature. Unfortunately the importance of this essential detail is lost on many South Florida eating establishments. (Note to OTHER restaurants: If I order soup, I may possibly need a soup spoon).

Additionally Michael's has perfectly developed another very important element that many restaurants seem to miss - Atmosphere. The level of lighting, music and overall ambiance works incredibly well both within the indoor and outdoor spaces. Illumination filtered through the red coloration pendants is warm and inviting, while the exterior tropical foliage creates a casual relaxed environment. Other restaurants should take note: MICHAEL'S DOES NOT HAVE GLARING LIGHT SOURCES BLINDING YOU WHILE YOU ATTEMPT TO ENJOY DINNER. Although this is clearly not the case at Michael's Genuine, ill planned lighting remains one of my personal pet peeves. I would recommend restaurateurs sit in every dining seat (during evening dining time) to have a better understanding of the customer's actual environmental experience.

Noting that I tend to dine out on a frequent basis testing new spots (7+ times weekly), Michael's is still at the top of my "List of the Best". Well done.
(P.S. Sadly, I do miss the Cypress Room experience).

All four of us enjoyed a casual meal there . We had tithe apple fennel salad, shrimp toast and eggplant to start . The salad was superb. Followed by a pizza (😴) mussels 👍 and duck confit👍
Naturally we had the fried hominy!

Second time there. We had a reservation for two people and showed up early - as expected table wasn't ready so went to the bar as had two seats open. As we got settled we saw how chaotic it was and thought better off to just eat at the bar. Think that was a mistake. Bar staff were friendly but completely overwhelmed and the service timing was really poor. The food, though, was good. We were two pretty average eaters and so did 4 smaller dishes Lamb ribs were fantastic. Japanese eggplant was good (and interesting) if not great, same for the beet salad. Ended with a duck confit. My friend really enjoyed it - I thought it was just ok.
I'd go back. I think it was an exceptionally crazy night and the staff were trying, just couldn't keep up. And I made some mistaken choices - likely a better experience if had waited for the table.
First time at a table for two was better service and better food - still a good spot.

Definitely not a stellar experience. Kitchen was not up to speed. Beet salad came out minus any beets. Side dishes were forgotten. Quality of the food ordered was good but timing and service were off

I have been here many times. This is the only time where I was just ok about the experience. We were sat about 30-mins late from our reservation time and no one said a word. Ok fine. But the staff just seemed overworked that night or I was just unlucky to not get the best staff there was.

Food was great as always though. Just be prepared for a wait sometimes on busy weekends. Overall will keep coming back. Just hope its not a new trend.

My only long lasting complaint about this place is the smoking outside. The staff needs to be a MUCH better job and making sure people are not smoking right next to diners. It can really ruin a meal.

Our experience at Michael's was a solid 15 out of 10. Our server was outstanding, the food was OFF the charts. Fresh, delicious, servings are perfect, flavors are so balanced. I HIGHLY recommend Michael's.

Michael's Genuine has become one of my favorite haunts and for this Sunday brunch, I wasn't at all disappointed. Fabian was our server assisted by Vincent, a server in waiting. They combined to make our meal and our date a joy. We started with simple appetizers of olives and deviled eggs, scrumptious. My date had a Lavender 75 cocktail poured to perfection. Our main meals off of the brunch menu were hominy and short ribs and steak and egg. Both were as tasty as one could wish for. What a great place!

I decided on Michael Genuine Foods because i had been there for lunch during the holidays and i was blown away buy the duck confit. The duck confit was crispy and well flavored, I also had the roasted eggplant witch was very flavorful. My lunch was a hit!!
So I decided to celebrate my sons birthday dinner at Michael’s , we ordered the duck confit witch was flavorful but not as crispy as the time before, I think its because the chef but the fruit sauce on top of the skin so the skin of the duck wasn’t as crispy. I also ordered the octopus witch was perfectly seasoned and very tender, we also ordered the roasted eggplant and that was perfect!! Overall we had a great meal at Michael’s!
The picture of the duck confit was from my previous lunch!

We are normally fans. Meal today was awful. The kitchen seems to have gotten “backed up” which is a total rookie mistake. This place has been around for years and should certainly have management who can predict the flow on a holiday week. I had to pay the check as I got my food because we had waited almost an hour and a half for our food and needed to leave to make a flight. Very disappointing!!

MY RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED AT THE LAST MINUTE.
I set a reservation for my sisters birthday at 5:15 pm. The day of the reservation I received a call telling me that my reservation was moved to 5:30. I set the reservation at 5:15 because we wanted to eat the lunch menu. 5:30 pm stated the dinner menu.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL FOR A RESTAURANT WITH A GOOD REPUTATION.

After waiting for 20 minutes for a table once we arrived for our 8pm reservation, we then waited another 10 minutes for someone to come to the table and attend to us. 40 minutes in we finally got water. Drinks arrived 50 minutes in — the drinks were the high point of the night. When we tried to order from the rather limited menu at MGFD, many items were not available! I finally settled for a burger, my partner ordered the barrel fish. The burger was just ok, the fish was over cooked and very dry. Needless to say Michael’s Genuine was a sore disappointment and I would not recommend it to even my worse enemy, let alone a friend.
