Been many times... food and service are always top
Just a little disappointing. No one was in the restaurant when we arrived so they seat the next party right next to us? Service was friendly but a bit lacking. No tea till halfway through meal, busy with other table which meant no one to clear ours of dirty plates. CFS was great, steak was okay, crab cakes were crab less. Only option for iced tea was mango flavored.
It was okay, just was a bit surprised.
Been to Michael's many times. The food is outstanding and the service is great.
Excellent fish. The creative sides are unique and tasty. Presentation was outstanding. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
Disappointed.. we love trying new spots for dinner and this was a flop.. The restaurant was not very busy and unfortunately the wait staff was terrible with time management and took forever for the basics . Had to ask for simple things such as bread and butter. Began with the soup, which was spicy but other than that no great flavors, the very basic salad was the best thing I had on a plus.. the salad had lots of avocado that was fresh which was nice. Husband ordered the steak special but sadly, the steak had a terrible flavor I’ve had so many better steaks actually, I can cook a better steak that is flavorful and juicy. I however, had the swordfish and could not eat more than four bites due to the red sauce poured over it that had both crab and sausage. I think that is a personal preference but really dislike sausage with my blackened fish.. The fire roasted cauliflower side was pleasant but for the cost of $34 it would’ve been nice to of had a second side dish such as a green of spinach or anything that was green... there were so much red on the plate With all the sauce. We were hoping for a new spot but I will tell you I will never return here again.
Everything was exceptional. Cuisine to service. Red velvet was the best i’ve ever had
Michaels Cuisine has a unique, local vibe that reflects Fort Worth culinary tradition with a modern, creative touch. My husband and I celebrated our double b-day there & we couldn't pick a more fitting place! Michael's Valentines Menu was outstanding! The best oysters I've ever had!
Valentine dinner and it was awesome
We had a swordfish dinner that was not the quality that we expected. The other chicken dish was excellent. When we voiced our displeasure at the swordfish, we were immediately visited by the chef to address our complaint. He was very apologetic, took the dinner off our tab and gave us two great desserts at no charge. We understand that sometimes you get a bad meal, but the attention we received after our complaint showed what a classy place Michael’s is. We will go back!
Fantastic as always
My wife treated me to Michael’s as a Valentine’s Day date and we had a wonderful experience. We discovered Michael’s just the week before and met Michael himself. We were warmly attended to by Azreal and sat at table 8 which is rather cozy next to the fireplace.
The food was clearly unique, especially with the southwestern flare and ancho chile inspired dishes. Enjoy the prime rip with the house made ancho chile creamed horseradish.
Tucked away in a quaint location on West 7th, Michaels is a locals favorite. The menu rarely changes, which can be a good sign of an exceptional chef. Michael has been there for over 20 years! We are now regulars.
A friend recommended Michael's and it was a hit! We had friends in from out of town that were showing at the stock show. We wanted a place that was nice, yet not crowded (good luck on a Friday during stock show!) and we found it! It was great! We will definitely be back.
Great spot convenient to Cultural District area - will definitely go again!
Our waiter, Adam, did a masterful job. No pressure to order the entree. Food was all very well prepared (appetizer and entrees). Price was as expected. We were not rushed and had a very full and enjoyable evening.
Returned after a long absence to find that the same quality I had always enjoyed still prevail. It was a late night visit after a TCU game.
I enjoyed having the Mac’s House salad which was prepared to perfection. The added bonus was getting to see Michael once again.
All four of us had a different meal. Everyone of them was good. Wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was great for casual conversation.
seafood special was grilled redfish and it was delicious! Best I’ve ever had
Really enjoyed our evening, our waiter was very attentive and our food arrived on a timely manner.
We had the tile fish special that was very good. Cooked just right. Good wine list and reasonable. Would go back again
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants- a solid but not overwhelming menu, well prepared food , always attentive service in an environment where you can actually hear whoever you’re dining with....their presence on the scene for 25 Years suggests a lot of other people agree...,
Amazing food! 25 years and counting for a reason, the food is delicious. Ft Worth mainstay!
Not a very nice restaurant. The food was ok. The service was great. It is not a gem as some other reviews reported.
Great service from Adam, a perfect balance of efficiency and friendliness. Atmosphere was great, comfortable and quiet enough for conversation. Starters of fresh bread and olive oil were excellent, as was my friend's pecan-encrusted chicken. I was glad that we'd decided to share, as I'd ordered the chicken-fried steak, which was tough and lacked taste. Brussel sprouts were to die for, as were the mashed potatoes. Definitely will return, and recommend to friends - except for the chicken-fry.
Love going to Michael's. the best thing on the menu is Mac's Salad.
Michael's is a neighborhood gem. The food is consistently very good. This night we ordered the Pepita-Crusted Red Fish (Restaurant Week special) and it was delicious - in fact all three courses were outstanding.
Overpriced, underwhelming. We ordered an IPA beer and the waitress brought us something that tasted like Bud Light. Then she refused to admit that it was the wrong beer, which just seemed unnecessary. The ambiance was oddly casual for the fancy menu and prices during restaurant week. Why are there TVs in the dining area? The salad was literally just iceberg lettuce with average tasting Caesar dressing. Adding insult to injury, the menu said it was the 'famous salad.' What? The main dish was good, but did not make up for everything else. I do not recommend.
We arrived before the dinner rush so we had the dining room all to ourselves. Server did not hover and gave us room to enjoy our conversation. Food was perfect. We really liked the quail pops. Quality and atmosphere was delightful
This was restaurant week in Ft Worth and the menu was really good. The optional appetizer was outstanding also. The service was excellent with the waitress both knowledgeable and extremely friendly. It was an excellent experience and we will definitely return at another time.
The food at Michael's was delicious - unanimous vote from our table! Loved every bite. You could tell the fresh ingredients and care into the dishes. Loved his soup that evening! We will be back.
The food was good and seeing Michael again was worth the trip, despite the unexpected expense.
I found Michael's to be a neighborhood bar with an upscale restaurant attached. The service was really good. The acoustics was not so good. The menu is pretty upscale, yet the dining area has TVs, and an industrial look. The food was good, I can not say the best I have ever eaten. The servings were well prepared and presentation very nice. I would like to try Michael's another time and see if the results are the same.
Had been a while since I had been there but the food is still very good. Michael takes a different slant on things from and adds Texas flair. The ambiance is great and they have a pretty large bar as well.
Great restaurant week menu! The soup and quail were fabulous!
Excellent food and service. Neighbor table a bit noisy (but that is not the restaurant's fault). Soup of the day was delicious (Clam chowder).
Interesting menu items available at Michael's. The pecan crusted chicken with goat cheese was truly outstanding, the chicken scallopini was also excellent but huge. Perfectly cooked pasta, not mushy and overdone like so many other places. Well-priced.
Food was very good but extremely limited menu. At $70/ person plus wine the experience was not worth the price. Wine list was printed on the back of the menu so no imagination there. Saturday night at 7:00 and only 4 tables occupied should say something. Tired look to a long time Fort Worth establishment.
Tremendous appetizers, including oyster and calamari-Top Notch.
The crab cake on the main course was bad, overpowering sauce and hard to identify the crab.
Fish of the day was very good.
Food was good for there and the main room was taken forced to sit in bar if we made reservations why weren't we notified especially for a special occasion. No mention of happy birthday or if lingering on wine and dessert how was your food and wine option felt service lacked and ambiance disappointing and took away from a great meal
Great spot. Stopped for lunch and had a sandwich and soup. Soup was good. Friendly staff
