Michael's Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants- a solid but not overwhelming menu, well prepared food , always attentive service in an environment where you can actually hear whoever you’re dining with....their presence on the scene for 25 Years suggests a lot of other people agree...,
Great service from Adam, a perfect balance of efficiency and friendliness. Atmosphere was great, comfortable and quiet enough for conversation. Starters of fresh bread and olive oil were excellent, as was my friend's pecan-encrusted chicken. I was glad that we'd decided to share, as I'd ordered the chicken-fried steak, which was tough and lacked taste. Brussel sprouts were to die for, as were the mashed potatoes. Definitely will return, and recommend to friends - except for the chicken-fry.
Overpriced, underwhelming. We ordered an IPA beer and the waitress brought us something that tasted like Bud Light. Then she refused to admit that it was the wrong beer, which just seemed unnecessary. The ambiance was oddly casual for the fancy menu and prices during restaurant week. Why are there TVs in the dining area? The salad was literally just iceberg lettuce with average tasting Caesar dressing. Adding insult to injury, the menu said it was the 'famous salad.' What? The main dish was good, but did not make up for everything else. I do not recommend.
This was restaurant week in Ft Worth and the menu was really good. The optional appetizer was outstanding also. The service was excellent with the waitress both knowledgeable and extremely friendly. It was an excellent experience and we will definitely return at another time.
I found Michael's to be a neighborhood bar with an upscale restaurant attached. The service was really good. The acoustics was not so good. The menu is pretty upscale, yet the dining area has TVs, and an industrial look. The food was good, I can not say the best I have ever eaten. The servings were well prepared and presentation very nice. I would like to try Michael's another time and see if the results are the same.
Food was very good but extremely limited menu. At $70/ person plus wine the experience was not worth the price. Wine list was printed on the back of the menu so no imagination there. Saturday night at 7:00 and only 4 tables occupied should say something. Tired look to a long time Fort Worth establishment.
Food was good for there and the main room was taken forced to sit in bar if we made reservations why weren't we notified especially for a special occasion. No mention of happy birthday or if lingering on wine and dessert how was your food and wine option felt service lacked and ambiance disappointing and took away from a great meal
We have not been to Michaels in several years due to all the great restaurants Fort Worth now has. We decided to go for dinner since it had been awhile. So disappointing. We had a reservation. When we got there only one other couple was there in a booth and he sat us down right next to them in the same booth....really? No one else was even there, can we have some room please. We started with the goat cheese appetizer, it was nothing but whipped goat cheese nothing special at all. I got the steak salad which was just slices of over cooked steak on lettuce with an oil dressing. Very blah and boring especially for 18.00. My husband got the fried steak, gravy was good but that was about it.
Our waiter acted like he didn't even want to be there. We asked about the desserts and he didn't even explain them. He just said mousse for ancho chile moose etc.
The place is outdated and a lackluster atmosphere.
They need a new menu, update the place and hire a wait staff with personality.
There are so many great restaurants to go to now, Michaels wont be one of them.
I always enjoy Michael's creative menu with a distinctive southwestern/creative ranch cuisine, including amazing uses of ancho chilies (even in desert!). The creativity stretches into the cocktail menu as well. I'm not sure I've ever been dis-satisfied at Michael's.
The food is always good and the service attentive. It has been a few years since I was last there but I will be returning often. Definitely worth a try. A lot of restaurants come and go but Michaels has been a stable part of the community. Honestly, Michaels was one of my "go to" restaurants for years but at one point, they started charging for butter for the hot bread they serve because they encourage you to used the olive oil on the table. If I'm going to spend $60 for a meal, charging for butter was too much. I asked for butter this last time and expected to be charged for it but was surprised it wasn't on the bill. Good for you, Michaels. I'll be back.
Totally loved it! The goat cheese appetizer was wonderful, everyone loved it! The tenderloin was amazing as was the swordfish special. I love that it is small and intimate. We had such a wonderful evening with friends. Love the fireplace! Can't wait to go back.
Made a reservation, told hostess we would sit in the bar until 7:15. There was a private LOUD party in the bar and only one seat. I sat, my boyfriend had to stand. So at 7:15 we went to be seated as we had a reservation and she said she thought we were going to eat in the bar and wanted to seat us right in front of the front door which was a table no one would want to sit at. We went back to the bar and waited for a table to be cleaned as the loud party left. Before we could sit at one of the 3 tables slowly being cleaned other people came and sat down, so as a man was cleaning the table we were trying to sit down and he rudely said we couldn't sit there it was reserved. So needless to say the hostess and the Hispanic man were very rude. Food was good but I'll never go back due to the rudley incompetent staff.
