Michael's Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Last night we enjoyed a delightful dinner at Michael’s. We were seated in a small room off the main dining room with just 5 tables. It was certainly quieter than the main dining room! Brian, our server, was very friendly and attentive. The support staff for Brian was excellent – they kept our water glassed filled at all times and responded quickly to any request we made. My husband had the Chicken Francaise (dipped in a classic egg batter in a lemon butter sauce) with a salad and mixed vegetables. My brother and I both had the Open Faced Hot Turkey (pulled turkey, white bread, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and real mashed potatoes). It was all so good, we cleaned our plates. My brother and I have December birthdays, and the restaurant sent over two pieces of cheesecake to help us celebrate – what a lovely gesture. And a plus, they offer complimentary valet parking.
We sat in a booth in the bar to watch college football
Our sever was Cary and she was fantastic- I mean really exceptional.
We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer - I didn’t count but it was full meal even with two of us splitting it.
The special was magi mahi-mahi with green beans and potatoe in a lobster sauce. It was very good but after eating all the shrimp and a large beer I took home and had the next day. It was still very good.
Another in our group ordered salmon and it was very tasty as well.
It was a nice evening and I’d recommend the restaurant
We had a nice brunch, good food overall. But the food took a long, long time to arrive, the server explained that she had the kitchen re-do one plate since the eggs were overcooked. That was nice of her, but still for a restaurant less then half filled the wait was too long. Also the music was too loud and not interesting, just annoying. But we will still go back in the future
This is my second time at Michael's. Everything was good until we were ready to pay the check. Our waitress disappeared. We sat there for a while hoping someone would come over, but eventually we had to get up and asked for someone to charge our cards. It kind of puts a damper on your time when you are sitting and waiting for such an extended period of time to cash out. The waitress had left for the day, didn't tell us, and it didn't seem that anyone had taken over her section.
I dine out fairly often for lunch and Michael’s is a frequent selection. The food, staff and general ambiance appeal to me and allows me to overcome some of the parking shortcomings. That being said, selecting different times to dine allows me to not have any parking inconvenience.
Thank you Michael's for fulfilling our request to be seated in the main dining room. With my wife needing to use crutches while recovering from foot surgery, it was nice to get out for a good meal and not have to navigate through a crowded dining room to get to a remote spot. The maitre d' had a table for us right at the entrance and had us seated immediately. Our waitress Melanie provided us with great service and was very knowledgeable about the menu.
Cream of crab was loaded with nice lumps of crab. I had a burger which I was disappointed, should have stuck with my original plan to have crab cakes. It was tasteless. My daughter enjoyed her blt and my son in law liked his chicken and waffles. Wish there were better red wine choices by the glass.
Sorry entrees Prime Rib was certainly not Prime Beef, not even Choice ,cut and tasted like Good.
Fish and Chips no way it was Cod ,it looked and tasted like Talipa. Drink prices were up their and Skimpy.
Service was good but the above items will tell us thats it for Michaels Cafe.
It has been 10 years since I have been back to Michaels. It was always a special place to come and eat their crab cakes....and used to go there 6-7 times a year when I was working in Baltimore....was very dissapointed as there was more filling in the crab cakes than before and not as tasty...receipe must have changed or they are skimping to keep prices down. Shame....
We always love to come to Michaels for any occasion. Doesn’t have to be a special event. We don’t live close so each time is a treat. They do so many unique things with their food. The presentation is very professional and pleasing to the eye. Always looks lovely when served. All staff is friendly & accommodating
Passed by for years but never stopped in before. Restaurant was packed on a Saturday afternoon, but they are large enough to accommodate. Brunch menu's healthier options were all great. Acai Bowl and Banana Split yogurt fruit granola sunday. French toast was delicious. Eggs bene with filet/gruyere was a pass unfortunately- grey bland filet and under poached eggs with runny, still clear whites. English muffin texture was doughy, soggy and undertoasted. Otherwise, service was super friendly ( albeit, not terribly fast) and food was otherwise generally good with a few true bright spots. Anywhere with such a large menu usually struggles to do it ALL well, so you just have to order well. Original section is definitely dated, but I would love to come back and sit in the airy and light addition with friends for a drink. Cocktails looked promising!
My husband took me there for out 21st Wedding Anniversary and I would definitely recommend Michaels Café.
The food was great but our server Samantha was even better -- we enjoyed the attention and bright personality she provided not just to use but to other diners that were in our area.
Three of us went to Michael’s Cafe on a Thursday afternoon and couldn’t believe how crowded it was - I was very glad I had made a reservation. Our server, Skyelar, couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. Two of us had chicken salad sandwiches and I had a shrimp salad wrap that was delicious. Each sandwich was accompanied by a pickle spear and home made potato chips smothered in seasoning. We also shared an order of fries that arrived very hot and not greasy. We’ve gone to Michael’s several times for dinner but this was the first time we’d been there for lunch but it definitely won’t be the last time.
Our waitress, Karen, was super. My sandwich was OK but it was partly my fault as I had read the description wrong and asked for some changes which did not turn out for the best.
So my food was just OK; my husband's sandwich very good. The fries again just OK
We split a piece of cheese cake which was absolutely excellent.
So mixed review for Michael's.
The two people in our party who had steak were immensely pleased--as was the one who had rockfish. But the one who had oysters was disappointed and thought the were overcooked.
We got a nice the quiet table (booth as requested). We were celebrating four birthdays--and were delighted with the complimentary cheesecake desserts. Than you!
The food was excellent, but the service was horrible! Our waiter seemed to have too many tables. We asked for things several times before receiving them. It took a long time for him to take our order. Then we waited a long time for the food to arrive. We had two small children who were amazingly patient during the whole time.
