Waited more than 20 minutes for our table (a booth). When finally seated saw that there were plenty of empty (non-booth tables). Hadn't requested the booth, so not sure why the option was to make us wait rather than seat us promptly.
Fun brunch spot with reasonable bottomless mimosas! The food is consistently good, and the environment in the bar/patio area is open and bright.
TERRIBLE!! Service was slow and terrible. Ordered food and came out wrong and the server said that she knew it was wrong but still brought it out to table
I hadn't been to Michael's for a while, but it turned out to be every bit as good as I remembered it. An old friend from college and I have lunch occasionally, and we picked Michaels because it is about half-way between our homes--mine in Bel Air, hers in Ellicott City. I'm sure we'll do it again. Food was wonderful (soft shell crabs, yum) delightful waitress, comfortable in every way. Thanks!
A person in the private room next to my table threw a fit, yelling and pounding the table for 30 minutes. Management apparently did not eject her from restaurant. Had to move to another table. Management did not apologize to me for the disturbance and did not offer a discount on the meals.
The prices have increased to point it is no longer a good value.
Service from waitress was good
Outstanding food, excellent service. Just a great place!!
I haven't been to Michael's in years! We met friends there recently and had a wonderful time. We ordered lots of wonderful appetizers and everyone was fantastic! We were quite full and ordered single crab cakes, crab and lobster cakes and shrimp salad and all were wonderful!
My mother and I found ourselves here after having facials at a spa not far from the restaurant as a part of the Mothers Day weekend on Saturday, May 12. I booked reservations for 1:00, but arrived 45 minutes early and was seating with no problem. But I am glad we booked reservations because by noon that place was packed and I can see why. The food and service was very good and they have a varied menu, especially during their brunch time. I will definitely return and eat outside again.
The atmosphere is great. Dined on the new patio area. The service was bizarre. Saw the appetizers come out. Had to waive them down. Then when the main course came out. Watched them take back inside because they didn't know where to deliver it. Food was just ok. Better places in the area.
Waiter was very nice but had to go back to kitchen to get answers to our questions. Ordered fresh rockfish with a teriyaki glaze. They poured the glaze over the fish like it was gravy. It destroyed the taste of the fish. The portion of the fish was quite small. Also had crab cakes and strip steak. Steak was very good and crab cake was good but I’ve had better. The rolls they served were fabulous as were the cocktails. I’ll probably try the restaurant again.
Excellent service from Keith. Very dependable restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious.
Food was excellent, prices are not bad, service at the bar was top notch, but after we sat down waitress had us sit for 15-20 min before taking our drink order, didn't check after food came. Food however was excellent, I had the Rockfish perfectly cooked. Next time I'll sit at the bar and eat.
The turkey sandwhich was either delli turkey or pulled turkey. I chose pulled turkey Wrong choice. It was tough and dry
Good food. Great service.
Good food and dependable service. Atmosphere is very appealing.
Good food. Great service. As expected.
The special occasion was a birthday dinner. It’s been awhile since I was at Michael’s Cafe and the waitress was amazing! She was so friendly and courteous she made the dining experience that much more special! The lobsters were delicious and the complimentary birthday dessert was nice too! I will be returning for Lobster Sunday with my family very soon.
Great crab cakes. some of the best in town. In town for Johns Hopkins reunion and LAX game and went to Michaels on Sunday before heading to airport. North of town, but easy to get to. Main dining room was so loud with families and kids on a Sunday brunch time so ate in the bar at a high top which was great. Lots of TV's too. Nice bar atmosphere.
We had amazing service!!
Michael's has excellent crabcakes. We dined there for dinner and are never disappointed by the food. While the crabcakes are on the small side, they are delicious. Full of lump crab meat and just the right amount of filler.
I can highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are looking for a great Maryland crabcake.
Excellent service and food
Always reliable neighborhood place.
Great American food.
The food and service were excellent. My family and I were put in a room off of the main dining area with a party of 15. We could not converse with one another because the party was extremely loud. Our table and the party's table were the only two tables in the room. We felt like we were intruding on their get together. It was not a good experience if like like enjoying the company of the people you with which you chose to dine.
Delicious brunch! Loved the obstetrics/crab cake! Very accommodating and our sever could not be nicer!! She was amazing and so was the food!
Great brunch! French toast was delicious and the bottomless mimosas are a great value. Will be back for brunch again.
Great good and good portions
We really loved our meal. And dessert was fantastic....
THERE ARE A FEW THINGS I LOVE HERE LIKE THE SHRIMP SALAD AND THE SALDS BUT ANYTIME I DEVIATE IT IS NOT WOTH IT. THIS TIME I HAD THE QUICHE. IT WAS DRY AND OVERCOOKED.
Amazing experience as always. This has become my go to place
This was our first visit to Michael's Café. My husband and I traveled to the area for a sporting event. The menu and photos looked great online but when we arrived I was a bit apprehensive because the restaurant was absolutely packed. No worries! We were greeted, seated and waited on as if we were the only customers there. The wait staff really had their act together. All were extremely friendly and accommodating and the flow and timing through the various meal courses was flawless.
Oh yes! The FOOD! There were so many enticing items on the menu that it was hard to make choices. My husband started with Maryland crab soup which was absolutely delicious followed by a fish and chips special. The cod was fresh and moist and the batter crispy and very light. I'm not a big eater so I had the mini crab cakes appetizer as a meal. I'd only experienced fried crab cakes but apparently the local method is broiling. The waitress suggested 2 each way for comparison. They were fresh and fabulous with only just enough seasoned breading to hold them together. We passed on dessert and had after dinner drinks instead.
The wine list wasn't overly pretentious but it was comprehensive and well-selected. I was thrilled that they offered my favorite LaMarca prosecco.
Although the ambience was warm and welcoming ... cozy even ... the noise level was pretty high. The place is popular! Can't fault it for that!
If/when we're in the Timonium area again we will definitely be dining at Michael's Café!
Service was great as was the assistance of the Hostess (owner) who resolved our incomplete reservation is a couple of minutes by getting us table on a very busy night. Thank you. Been going there once a year for years! Food is great and the rockfish Nicholas is to die for! I recommend Michaels only issue is noise level - ha it’s just too popular, so many people😱
Always a great experience. The crab cakes are fabulous. Friendly and efficient staff. Good food always.
The waitress didn’t take the drinks order for 30 minutes and then it took her a while to bring them, the food came out cold and took forever as well. We had to ask her for drink refills. It was as she was ignoring us and giving all the attention to the other table. The food was tasteless and cold. Terrible experience overall.
Just as good as always. One of our favorite places to dine. Inside or outside!
There were 2 couples in our group. The men had the ribs and raved about them - we cautioned them that they could not suck the bones in public! I had the filet and it was tender and extremely flavorful. And the roasted beets were great! My girlfriend had the crab cake and as she said. “Never disappointed, consistently good.”
We set this up on the spur of the moment and it worked perfectly!
Food was very good. Service, not so good. The server did not bring us water or bread with our dinner, until we requested them. I had requested a birthday desert, when i made a reservation. The server was never informed.
Love this restaurant. This time we were there for brunch which goes to 3pm. The omelette and breakfast sandwich were both full of flavor and prepared perfectly and filling. And the value is very good. The bacon Bloody Mary was a great way to start the meal. Highly recommend. Would like to give a shout out for the service it was wonderful.
Our server, Lauren was outstanding. The Saturday brunch is always excellent, and Leslie, our hostess, always makes us feel welcome. Great restaurant!
We are repeat visitors to Michael's Café. Samantha was excellent. She kept us informed and was able to accept a late addition to our order with ease. As usual the food was well prepared and of excellent quality and value for the price.
We were there for the end of "happy hour" and consequently the restaurant had a very energetic noise level. However, it didn't take away from being able to converse with my wife and enjoy our outstanding dinner. Congratulation to staff and owners of Michael's café.
A friend and I had a delightful lunch at Michael's this week. We both enjoyed the burgers with cheese and bacon, and had no room for dessert. Service was excellent.
