After a sensational day on the slopes a menu of savory braised meats, silky cream sauces, hearty risotto and handmade pastas will await you in a comfortable, yet classic dining room. Unwind with a glass of fine Italian wine in front of the stone fireplace or enjoy a locally brewed beer at the bar. An exclusive private dining room will also be available.
We celebrated a special occasion with our large family at Michaelangelo's and, overall, enjoyed our dinner here. The food was excellent, and the restaurant decor/ambiance appeared cozy and attractive. The only downsides for us were 1. Our table location (despite making our reservation over a month in advance, our table seemed to be an "extra" table set up in an area which would normally not be used for dining, i.e. next to server station with a view of the underside of the bar and an exit. This is not a huge deal, but it does take away from the overall experience, especially when celebrating an occasion); and 2. We were waited on by multiple people over the course of the evening, despite an introduction by one server at the beginning of the meal, which made the experience a little disjointed. We would love to give this place another try the next time we are in Big Sky.
Fantastic dinner from beginning to end. Fabulous wine list with tremendous menu from the appetizers to the desserts. Service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfect for our party. Would recommend this restaurant for any occasion !
Great restaurant, great service and the food was outstanding! You will enjoy.
Great food! Excellent service! Best Italian food we've had in a long time. We will be back!
Food was very good, great wine list and an excellent waiter.
The Prosciutto Di Parma e Melone had too large of a tasteless honeydew.
The Insalada Di Rucola con limoncello was nice to be able to get it without onions but the arugula had no peppery flavor and was just flat tasting.
The Risotto con porcini e Tartufata doesn't list garlic and it was overpowering with garlic...could not finish it.
The Ravioli both quarto formaggi and di bufala were very good.
Your bread is wonderful.
The food here is excellent. Our pasta dishes were as good as any we have eaten anywhere. There is a focus on freshness and flavor that is lacking in many restaurants. I would highly recommend this one.
Thank you!! We had great service and the food was amazing.
The restaurant was not busy for an early dinner reservation. Not sure they were entirely on their game that night. I ordered a salad that was essentially tasteless and not worth the price. The gnocchi and tortellini entrees were tasty but order the small portion unless you have a huge appetite. Service was fine but there were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant, so I would expect it to be good. The table next to us had to have corrections made to their order several times before it was done properly. I should have sent the salad back as it was definitely sub-par. This place was recommended by a local who travels and dines out extensively, so we were surprised at the mediocrity of the food.
The salmon was amazing, some of the best I've had. The table was waiting when we arrived and the service from everyone was great. This is the second time I've gone to this restaurant when visiting Big Sky. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and food with a reasonable noise level. Our waiter was efficient, but was unfriendly and unhelpful. Would definitely go back but would request a different server.
Exceptional dinner. I went with 2 others and each of us had a different fish entree. They were all extremely good. Don't pass up this restaurant.
Great menu. Very attentive service. Well executed all around.
Each plate is a work of art. The veal scallopine, bison filled ravioli and cucumber salad were all excellent. I had the pork chop special. The pork was tasty but tough. By slicing it thin I avoided the toughness. FWIW, the Wall Street Journal just had an article that after years of breeding leaner hogs, restaurants are demanding fatter hogs because pork chops are tough! If you like a Manhatten cocktail be sure to try the Galliano Manhatten.
Great bread-calamari starter out of this world-veal special spectacular!
Both our waitress and the food were outstanding.
Only negative is they don't allow you to bring in your own wine.
we were in town for a few days and stayed at a Big Sky resort. So enjoyed the meal we had at Michaelangelos
Had to wait for a drink. Initially. Drinks were slow to come. Food quality was good but not prepared to specifications.
We often go to Michaelangelo's for dinner. My mister had the tuna special this time and it was delicious! Our go-to favorites are the antipasti platter, risotto, involtini melanzane, insalata caprese, and the calamari. We like the small plates. Everything is prepared expertly and is delicious.
Visited while on vacation in Big Sky. Pastas were delicious, especially the wide pasta ribbons with wild game ragu. Dynamite dish. Most pastas can be ordered in half sizes, which were perfect for our 10 year old kids. Modern interior but extremely comfortable - not pretentious in the least. Excellent place for families or for a date night.
Unexpected find in Big Sky - outstanding fine Italian dining - not the heavy stuff. The facilities - restaurant and bar are beautiful - highly recommend.
I absolutely love this place. The food was a little saltier than usual but still fantastic. They had live music which was awesome yet quiet enough to still enjoy conversation.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and fantastic service
We had a wonderful dinner at Michaelangelo's on our last night in Big Sky. Food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. Particularly liked the sauces on the pasta dishes. Highly recommended!
Awesome, best meal that we have had in a long time! Can't wait for a good reason to go again!!!
Nice restaurant nice addition to big sky very good food
We have dined at Michaelangelo's Ristorante many times and have always been very pleased with the food, ambiance, and service. I especially like the melanzane involtini, the caprese salad, the antipasto platter, the calamari. The small plates usually are large enough to share which I like to do so I can have the pleasure of tasting more items on the menu.
My husband and I dined here for my birthday. Our dinner there on a prior evening was in the bar and sitting there is very nice. This time we were in the dining room and the ambiance was very nice. The food was quite good but the server was the star of the evening. He was quietly professional and tended to all our requests. He made sure our water glasses were never empty and kept topping off the wine without request. A truly memorable and enjoyable evening.
Dinner was outstanding, as always! Our waiter was, likewise, outstanding, helpful and friendly. My favorite restaurant in Big Sky!
Great food, great service and excellent specialty cocktails. It would almost be dangerous if I lived closer and could visit more often.
So wonderful! Food was fantastic - waitress was great and she was so sweet to recommend that we get a few of the smaller portions and share! The dishes are so amazing you won't want to miss any of them!!! One of our new Big Sky favs!!!
Great food and variety. Always a great meal. Love the bar ambience and the artwork. Nice professionals working there.
If you're in Big Sky - this is a must stop - the pasta dishes are amazing!
We found this restaurant using yelp. We were originally looking for a casual Italian restaurant, so initially we were having second thoughts about our dinner selection. Once we settled in to our seats, we found an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The menu selections were well delivered. The chef is extremely talented and I believe the food is well worth the price. I strongly recommend anyone visiting Big Sky to go here for a meal.
I am in love with those little pasta purses with creamy truffle sauce, Sacchetti Al Tartufo. The Tuna steak Entree special was amazing. Good Wine list.
The food was awesome. James the waiter was simply spectacular. Best service ever.
Food was hot and prompt, and oh so good.
The food was excellent and the service was great as well
When we are in town, we look forward to going to Michaelangelo's. It has a wonderful ambiance as well as terrific service. The food is excellent!
Pretty good food and terrible service. Waitress was conspicuous by her absence and very defensive when she apparently forgot to order our starter of calamares and served the tiny portion to is after salad and with the pasta starter course. She told us that this was standard at Michaelangelos.
The reservation was also botched as we asked for 6:30 and were told on the internet that nothing was available but 6:00 or 7:45, so we chose 6:00. At 6:30 there were at least seven tables availabile, half a dozen at 7:00 and available tables up until the time we left at about 8:20.
This is not in the top restaurants in Big Sky and not even in the Meadow area. Eat here only if someone else is picking up the tab!
