I made reservations for my girlfriends birthday. We enjoyed the food but the food is only part of the experience of going to the Michael Jordan restaurant. The host called me to ensure the reservation was still ok and he asked me if there was a special occasion for the night. I told him it was my GFs birthday and he said he looked forward to seeing us that evening. Upon arrival, I casually mentioned to the server Jasmine it was my GFs birthday. I expected a piece of cake with a small candle at the end of dinner so I could sing her happy birthday but we never received it. I saw the table behind us had a birthday and they received a cake with a candle. Why not us? After the server brought the cake I mentioned to her I thought they would bring out cake with a candle so I could sing her happy birthday. She said she forgot and asked if she should go get a candle. It kind of ruined the experience for us. After mentioning this to the manager he brushed it off and said the dessert should have been free and they always present it with a candle for someone's birthday. I paid for the cake which is not a huge deal but if it was supposed to be free why wasn't that mentioned to us? After the host and waitress knew it was her birthday, why would they knowingly ask us if we wanted dessert and not present it as a birthday cake? It's the small details that matter. Especially since I paid $300 for the meal. I would have expected better from the restaurant.

Blown away by MJ's Steakhouse! I meant to give my sports loving husband a special treat since he loves steak & Michel Jordan. I had no idea the incredible venue the restaurant was housed in. It is worth it to come once just to see the gorgeous architectural features of the former 1920's men's club - now a registered national historical monument. And by the way, the food was fabulous too! The lamb was perfect and the peanut butter pie is to die for! I did feel bad of the cute young couple that sat at the table next to us. They looked at the menu, saw the prices and had to politely leave. This is an expensive restaurant. We paid $100 each before tip. But for a special occasion if it is within your budget it is a great find for wonderful food and atmosphere!

We had a fabulous experience. The server was very knowledgeable, and everything that he recommended was excellent. My husband had the signature MJ's Delmonico, and it was absolutely amazing. My filet mignon was great, too, but when I tried a bite of the Delmonico, I was jealous! We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again!

My husband's steak was not cooked right. He asked for Medium and it was presented as nearly rare. He asked for it to be cooked to the temp he asked for and then my meal was cold as I was trying not to eat all of my meal while we waited for his. This is very disappointing at a restaurant that is known for its steaks. Very underwhelming. The garlic bread was excellent.

Not worth the price-! Expecting so much more. Read a review from newspaper. Food pretty good for a chain- not for upscale dining with price tag to match- very disappointed!

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant.

The food was amazing, my girlfriend got more and more sad as her steak went away. She kept saying this was her favorite place to eat now.

Really enjoyed how the GM and our waitress both congratulated us on our Anniversary, it gave a good personal touch :)

P.S 23 layered chocolate cake + ice cream is the perfect dessert!

Went for restaurant week. Had a large Cesar Salad Requested extra dressing and anchovies which was no problem
Since I had been eating a lot of steaks during restaurant week, I had the scallops and rice. They were delicious. and the chocolate mouse was a great way to end the meal.
service was attentive but not rushed

The meal was lack luster. The whole experience was a let down given the hype about the restaurant. The steak was cooked to perfection. However, it lacked taste. The best part of the meal was the Mac and Cheese. For dessert I had the bread pudding. The outer layers were hard and lacked taste. I enjoyed the experience of going to MJ Restaurant. But I don’t have to go back anytime soon

We had the restaurant week menu during a weekend visit! It was fantastic, along with fantastic service. The wine pairing was good, and the server was kind enough to switch out a wine that I didn't like. The food was outstanding!

My friends and I went for restaurant week. The food was phenomenal. I recommend the garlic bread. I don't usually like blue cheese, but this starter was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were big for being discounted for restaurant week. The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate mousse. And our waiter was so accommodating and great. He added to our enjoyment of the experience

We had the restaurant week lunch menu. My husband's entree scallops with duck confit fried rice was extremely salty. Rice was mushy and soaked in tons of soy sauce. He could not ate it. Overall the food was just okay, not memorable.

Caesar salad is basically some romaine sprinkled with a little Parmesan cheese and a couple croutons. Needed more dressing on salad. Scallops were a bit over cooked and the mouse for dessert was very dense for a mouse. Overpriced for the quality.

The thing that always stands out to me about this place is that the service is impeccable. They are patient, attentive and professional.
The food is probably overpriced for what it is, but the quality of the meat is excellent. The sides we had were excellent. My wife had a dish she sent back because it was overly salty. They were very accommodating and the dish she got back (scallops) was perfectly adjusted.
The decor in the restaurant is a little strange, but the downstairs bar is great.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend to people.

Very slow service; Lunch SHOULD NOT take 1-1/2 hours. Knowing that it was Restaurant Week, I feel as though they should have been better prepared.

The chopped salad was very good. Reminded me of a wedge salad that was already cut up. The roasted broccoli was amazing! Very flavorful and the pine nuts gave it a light crunch. My fillet was cooked perfectly. A little pricey but maybe that is standard for Chicago.

I was really looking forward to dining at Michael Jordan’s steakhouse during my time in Chicago but was unfortunately very disappointed with my experience there. I had decided to eat in the bar area while waiting on some friends. I found my server (Jolene) to be very rude and stand-offish. She did not even introduce herself as my server (I had to ask what her name was)! I got the clam chowder to start and was so excited about the presentation but then was again disappointed by the food temperature (only slightly warm). Not what I was expecting for $15 bowl of soup. I then got the mixed beet salad which was very good and the crab which was just okay in my book. I then ended my meal with the Nutella Creme brûlée which was also disappointing unless you like the taste of chocolate pudding. After paying my $80 bill, I was disappointed upon leaving to find out it was Chicago restaurant week and there was a special menu being offered. Sadly, neither the menu nor the information was provided to me upon being seated. It would have maybe helped with my food choices. Jolene continued to exemplify her rudeness when my 2 friends joined at the end of the evening for drinks. She didn’t even apologize when the wrong drink was brought out to my husband, just rolled her eyes at us! We spent a total of $250 at the restaurant that night and only wish we had spent it elsewhere. I will not return to this restaurant or bar in the future. Too many other very nice restaurants to visit in Chicago.
