Enjoy a delicious meal while being serenaded by singing waiters at Miceli's. This Old Hollywood landmark, serves soups, salads, seafood and authentic home-style Italian dishes to jazz performances and musical show tunes. Visit during lunch and treat yourself to some delicious lasagna or some of Miceli's specialty pasta. Self-described as the oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood, this restaurant also offers a tasty selection of pizza, with recipes dating back to its 1949 debut.
Miceli's old warm charm and committed passion towards music make it an ideal choice for a romantic date. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day.
I've always enjoyed Miceli's for its history, good food and ambiance. I hate to say this but the old wait staff needs to go. They clearly get overwhelmed when it gets busy and the night I went was not busy at all. Two of the items I ordered were not delivered (capresse salad and soft drink) when our dinner arrived so I asked to have them taken off my bill, which he did. But his lack of attention cost Miceli's $15 so I would imagine this happens more often when you're busy. Food was so-so this time.
Will definitely be going back. The perfect place to go ig going to the Pantages.
This is a gem that is walking distance to the Dolby Theater. The food was great especially the New England Clam Chowder. The portions were large enough to share. Plus entertainment was fun to add to the evening.
Had dinner, food was terrific, wine was delicious, entertainment was like Broadway! Great service! Delicious deserts
I have been to Miceli's many times, but this past Saturday I had the pleasure of taking my dear friend and her daughter there, they were both celebrating their birthdays. My friend's daughter turned 16 and she is a huge music lover, so I thought she'd enjoy the piano and singing wait staff - she did! We all had a blast and they're hoping to go back soon. I know I will be! Thanks again, Miceli's, for outstanding food, outstanding service, and for a great time!
A few steps from crazy Hollywood Blvd. an oasis of calm and good food! "Thin crust" pizza needed a thinner crust, but was good. Eggplant parmesan was excellent, and the service was, too. Great place for family, and nice for couples, as well. We will be back.
Terrible female manager. Rude to all the staff. No one sang whilst we were there. Food was average. Definitely won't be back.
Sent a story in with resie request about my son, an opera singer, coming from Toronto for his 40 birthday. My son was not acknowledged at all...I was very disappointed.
The grandkids loved the singing although there wasn't enough of it.
Restaurant is a great place to go when in the Hollywood area. Food is great, staff are very attentive, and the pianna player was outstanding.
Very cool place!
Neat little old school Italian place. Family-owned. Pasta pescado and caprese salad were really good.
Having lived in Los Angeles for decades now, I am used to restaurants coming and leaving each time making a big splash on arrival and then simply dying and sulking away. Miceli's has been around since the late 40s and is still going strong. With a strong, appetizing menu and a staff that is knowledgeable, fun and attentive, this is my go-to Italian destination when I need a quick fix or have guests from out of town that want a taste of old Hollywood - but without the stiffness of a table cloth and cloth napkin affair. From the pizzas to the pastas and the salads in between, Miceli's is always ready with a smile to welcome you and take that hunger away but will not rob you blind or leave an after taste which you'll regret in the morning. Thank you for making my most recent visit a pleasurable one. My guests from France brought their 3 teen age children and everyone was happy!
Soda was flat. And the waitress just kept offering different brands instead of changing out the soda in the machine. I went through three different sodas and all were flat. So i ate dinner with no drink.
Very cluttered with bottles hanging from ceiling and knick knacks on walls. The food is good but the setting not.
In November 2015 was our fifth anniversary . This Valentine's Day we celebrated by returning to miceli's . We would come here for dinner when we were dating fifty years ago. We had forgotten how great and fun it was. Our sever was great. The entertainment was fantastic with such talented singing servers. The ambiance brought back memories of 1965. Although we live a distance, we shall return😀
From the wine bottles hanging from the ceiling to the booths, this place is very comfortable. When we go to the Pantages we always include a meal here. Very good Italian fair and the piano with the signing waiters is enjoyable. We asked them to take their time and we were not rushed.
We went mainly as we heard about their singing waiters and waitresses. But it turns out they are too busy for us on busy days. Our request was unfulfilled even though we told them we came there to celebrate a birthday and specifically for that. We should have called and confirmed! Waiter was good enough to ask the customers to join in the birthday song.
This is a very cool place. We have been here many times and it has always been wonderful. Great food, service, wine and a very cool piano player. They have been here since 1949 and it always takes us back in time, imagining what it was like, in another era. Hollywood Blvd has changed a lot but this restaurant has retained it's old school charm. We always come here when we are in town to see a show at the Pantages or other venue and it is a nice walk for a great meal, great wine and a good time.
Excellent & Authentic Italian food. They even made me an off menu item perfectly!!! Mangare beno
Miceli's is just the most perfect little side street Italian restaurant just off Hollywood Boulevard. It's REAL Italian, not manufactured. The food is terrific, the ambience is perfect, if you want a simple, great Italian meal this is the place to go. We met there with a cousin from the East Coast who we hadn't seen in many years, and it was fantastic. We ate, drank, talked and there was no pressure on us, it felt like our own family owned the restaurant (it was a Monday night, and there wasn't anyone waiting or we would have felt more need to hurry). Prices are incredibly reasonable. I am an Italian from New Jersey, and this is one of my two favorite Italian restaurants here in California. It's just like being home. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed the authentic Italian food and great value house wine. We saw no sign of the promised singing waiters, though there was a pianist who could not be heard above the hubbub. If we had a specific criticism it was that our waiter was grumpy from beginning to end - he did not even bother to introduce himself - despite this we enjoyed our visit.
I first went to Miceli's restaurant because I wanted to take my 10 year old daughter to an Italian restaurant for her birthday. I was looking for a place that was full of history, beauty, calmness with a touch of love and family table memories and that's exactly what we felt when we walked through the door greeted by this wonderful woman with such grace, beauty and smiles..
From the moment we walked in we were enchanted!
The entertainment started right after we sat down and we enjoyed all the antics.
My honey, who is from Jersey, said this is as close as he's felt to a neighborhood place in So Cal! How's that, right in Hollywood.
It's walking distance to the Pantages and we can't wait to come back when we see 42nd Street soon!
Miceli's is one of the oldest restaurants in Hollywood (the oldest?). The food is classic, old school Italian, and you feel like family when you dine here. The piano player is amazingly talented and funny, interspersed with the waiters taking turns singing songs. It's a lively, fun place to dine.
Miceli's is a great Old Hollywood spot, with a wonderful and wide assortment of pasta dishes, an extensive wine list, and a charming and friendly ambiance. Less than a block off Hollywood Boulevard, it's close to the action, but easy to find an open table. The owners and staff are helpful and friendly, the piano player is delightful, and the service is excellent. Great food, great people, and a great time.
Excellent food. Within walking distance from Chinese theater and walk of fame.
When I asked my out-of-town guests what they were looking for in terms of food, they wanted Italian. Miceli's delivered. From the red checkered table clothes to the hanging Chianti bottles to the singing staff, it was the perfect environment. It's not too loud. And the smell of garlic gets anyone in the mood for a big meal. They absolutely loved it. I can always rely on Miceli's.
It's a gorgeous setting. The staff is friendly. Service is good. It's historic. And the food is very, very mediocre.
But, the waiters sing and there's great piano music... unless you go during lunch time, in which case the piano stool is empty and the waiters don't even hum, and you end up asking yourself why you're eating this lame food when there are so many better options out there.
Seriously, only go for the decor and the music. Then you can just eat the food without paying it much attention.
Our waiter was all over the place And couldn't remember what we wanted . however, bus boy was very helpful and gave us want we needed.
We loved every aspect. Food, service, entertainnemt. A great find!
This place awesome I can't not wait to go back!!!
I've always loved Miceli's, but was a little disappointed in their caesar salad. They use to have big and small, now just one size, and it was small.
The hostess was very pleasant but our server was very condescending. My dining companion didn't know what she wanted and he was just so unpleasant. He didn't bring our appetizer until we received our dinner. He was very unapologetic. The bus girl was amazing and attended to our every need. The food was only so-so. I would not recommend this restaurant.
The live piano and the singing
Micelli's is always a great choice for good Italian food and a really entertaining atmosphere...close to Hollywood attractions and an attraction in itself. We always have a good time here.
The atmosphere and singing waiters make for a unique and pleasant experience. The prices are very reasonable and the convenience of doing the Hollywood blvd/El Capitan thang then walking to Miceli's was awesome. All was good except that our bill came with a 19% gratuity added. I hate that.
I love Micelis and always will. However, it's time for a little update in the kitchen. The dishes are lacking a little flavor and the pizza while still tasty needs a firmer but thinner crust.
We got a lot of dishes to share and one of our chicken dishes was cooked a little under.
The Bolognese is still amazing, anything ending in Parmagiana is still exactly what you want it to be just dying for an extra pinch of salt.
The service as always was perfect and entertaining, friendly and attentive.
This is and will always be a solid choice for any night of the week.
Veal piccata and shrimp linguine with pink sauce was delicious! The cannolis and spumoni were absolutely a treat. Love that the Miceli family really has not changed the great friendly dining experience over the years and that the brothers still greet everyone like we are all family.
Miceli's takes on different atmospheres at different times of day. The food is always good, great or excellent. When it's quiet, it can be very romantic. When it's busy, it can be just plain fun. When the piano player is working the ivories--after six generally-- he can make the bar area feel like it's your special occasion--whether you planned to celebrate one or not.
They advertise that they have singing waiters. We were there on a Friday night for one and a half hours. Not one singing waiter
