Excellent spot for appreciative lovers of creative food. BYO helps justify the cost. Feels worth it when you leave.

I have had the privilege of dining at Mica 3 times, and every time the food and service has been exceptional. It is so nice to have such an amazing restaurant so close to home. The beet salad is delicious and beautifully plated as are all the dishes. The torn scallops in curry sauce make you feel like you are dining on a tropical island. The seafood is so fresh and flavorful. And save room for dessert, every one I have tried has been amazing. Can't wait to return for another great meal. Love the BYOB aspect too!

Just exceptional. Can't have enough. We had the chefs tasting menu which was 6 courses with many little suprises in between. Everything that was brought to the table was presented with care and attention to detail and looked as good as it tasted. Service was outstanding. A true culinary experience. Massively recommend!

Our Easter brunch was superb - very tasty, very interesting and creative combinations of ingredients, topped off by an excellent chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce and toasted hazelnuts.

Food was amazing, service wasn’t up to par because they had a call out but was still better than most places I’ve been and I’ve been around. There isn’t much to say about mica other than give it a go. Some people know food and mica knows food and how to do it well.

Food was excellent. Two of us ate Ala Carte, one had special menu. Everything was well prepared with special touches like wonderful sauces that elevated the dish beyond ordinary. A wonderful dining experience.

Although the portions were not large, the quality of what was on the plates was top notch. We did the Friday night tasting menu where you have 2 choices for each course. We loved everything we were given.

This was our first dining experience at Mica and it definitely will not be our last. Everything from the service to the ambiance to the amazing food was absolutely exquisite. This is a little gem in Chestnut Hill and worthy of many, many more returns. I would give it a 10* star rating!

Great food in this Chestnut Hill BYOB. Service was most attentive. We had the tasting menu, and course was very tasty.

Although pricey, the ability to bring your own booze helps with the overall costs.

It's a smaller room with no bar, so I suggest not arriving too early. There's really no place inside to sit and wait.

Also, when the room is full, the decibel level really jumps.

We had an 815 reservation and 3 hours later, we were finishing all of the various parts of the tasting menu. No one tried to get us to speed up our time, which we were thankful.

We dine at Mica regularly, and did so tonight to celebrate a birthday. We splurged a bit on the tasting menu and Chef Yianni did not disappoint - the meal was spectacular and the service (despite a Restaurant Week crowd) was impeccable - the servers and bussers were all personable and worked beautifully together. It was a wonderful experience!

Great food with a plethora of ingredients in each course that come together nicely. The themed nights are creative and a great value especially with BYOB

We have had the pleasure of dining at Mica many times. It is a lovely place : great food, charming room, super service. It was very busy because it was a Friday night. Yanni (the chef-owner) sent out another course for us to try while we waited - rutabaga noodles with a brown butter sauce. It was so good that I will order it next time. A great vegan/ gluten free choice.

Disappointed in our last visit. zit could be because it was the day after Valentine's, and the chef may have been too tired, or a substitute chef was working that night, but at least one of the main dishes was completely not up to par: the salmon entree was not very tasty, and perhaps (?) to overcome that, the sauce was horribly horribly oversalted, almost to the point of making the dish inedible. In addition, the cabbage served with the salmon was TOUGH.
This used to be our favorite restaurant, but given our experience this time, I am at least somewhat wary about coming back.

Just first rate. Wonderful experience and worth every bit of what we paid.
One minor problem--the weather was bad, the restaurant was deservedly crowded and we had to wait almost 15 minutes with no place to sit. I don't know what the answer would be, though.

Came here for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful time. The menu was creative with some extra touches to make things special for the holiday. The cauliflower bisque, lobster risotto, venison and short rib were particularly outstanding though every dish was really delicious. The fact that you bring your own wine makes this a particularly great value.

Mica continues to impress. All 4 of us selected the special menu, "From Greece with Love," and were delighted with the outcome. The grilled octopus and lamb-based moussaka were both exceptional. We love the chef's thematic menus but the ala carte selections are compelling as well. Mica is without question one of Philadelphia's top restaurants!

The food was wonderful with 2 small exceptions. We had the tasting menu-the perfect amount of food. The brioche that came with the foie gras was burnt. Also, the noodles were hard, but my husband ate mine anyway. Very nice service. I would suggest reminding diners that it a BYOB when confirming the reservation.

Mica is a great BYO in Chestnut Hill. The food was very good beginning with the Crab Beignets Snack; absolutely delicious. The Crudo as an appetizer was very good and the Chicken and Lamb entrees were notable. Timing was off on this particular night at the early seating. There was a long lag time between each course. I think the Kitchen got backed up because the Server kept apologizing and the food arrived lukewarm instead of hot. Still worth a trip to Chestnut Hill for fine dining. Bring a special vintage to go along with your menu choices.

The Crispy Kale Salad was particularly innovative and delicious. Blue Crab 'snack' is very tasty and more filling than you might think. Torn Scallop entree was chock-a-block with baby clams, mussels, and various root veggies (I think--wasn't even sure of everything I was eating but it was good!). The atmosphere is genteel; you do hear the conversations around you so I wouldn't dine here if I wanted real privacy, but it has a good neighborhood vibe otherwise. Wait staff were attentive without being intrusive, in addition to being genuinely nice.
