Really enjoyed Mica. The services was friendly and low-key and professional at the same time. I think the chef really cares about the food. It is a BYOB. The chef was nice enough to suggest wines to us since we don't really know anything about wine.

The food was very tasty. The corn and wheatberry porridge appetizer was totally different from what I expected and very delicious. My husband had the beet salad and it was very good. I had the crispy salmon and my husband had chicken with wild mushrooms as our entrees.

The noise level was moderate.

High end restaurant in Chestnut Hill. Nice quiet friendly ambience with excellent service and a warm cheerful welcome. BYOB. Balanced, interesting menu that doesn't overwhelm. Highly recommended.

Satisfying on every level:
fresh, delicious, unpretentious, thoughtful, esthetically beautiful food. Chef Arhantoulis is an artist who knows what tastes great!

We went to MICA expecting a memorable meal and we got it. The only recommendation I would make to them is to clarify their Menu options- there is ala carte, then a $49 tasting and sometimes(?) a $69 menu and I don't know which is which or when. The $69 menu did not appear as a choice the night we went (a Thursday) but the $49 was great.

On this visit, we opted for the priced fixed Taste of the Piedmont area of Italy. It was delicious, creative .... we loved it. Mica has started to offer these special menus on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Bring your own bottle of wine to add to the delicious menu and it is winner. Just Wonderful!

The food was outstanding! From the lighting to the personal space and the service - incredibly comfortable. We both did the tasting menu - a definite must. It's a great opportunity to experience tastes you probably would never order for yourself.

The service and the food were excellent. We didn't have time to try the 6 course testing menu but we thoroughly enjoyed our food and the excellent service. Portions were small for a large appetite but sufficient.

This place is a treasure. The food is always absolutely perfect, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is great. This time, we were seated in the back (we have always sat in front before), and it was perfect: much quieter than the front, so all in all an absolutely wonderful experience

Took my parents their to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary. They loved everything about it. It was especially nice that we could talk quietly at our table while dinner was served. It has a great cozy atmosphere and the food is amazing! It is my new neighborhood favorite for a nice meal.

Exceptional in every respect. We dine here often and
really can't believe how they manage to work in new and creative dishes (and some reinterpreted and modernized classics) so frequently. As a result, dining at Mica is always an exciting experience. Bravo!

I had another great meal here! This trip I took a different set of friends to experience this great little spot. We loved everything. My only comment is that the gougere were served *ice* cold. I understand these little pâte à choux cheese filled puffs can be served hot or cold, but ice cold was a disappointment. I think they would have been amazing served warm. My dining partners had the oysters and the plating and freshness is something they raved about, not to mention the tuna tartar, served with tuna that had literally just been delivered by their fish monger (and, again, was plated like a work of art). This is my new favorite find - and the fact that it's a BYO makes it even more special.

We've been huge fans of Mica for several years. It's unquestionably the best food in Chestnut Hill. We were a little uneasy after hearing that they'd changed hands and no longer had a liquor license but hoped for the best. And not only did it not disappoint, the food was probably better than ever. The liquor license piece turned out to be a non-issue (or maybe a plus). We brought a very nice bottle of wine (which probably cost us half what it would on a menu) and the staff did the corking and pouring without hesitation. Mica remains our favorite and we'll probably be back even more often now.

Continues to impress. As good as any foody-centric BYO in Center City. The menu is so creative, the setting quiet and serene, the staff absolutely perfect! In winter months tables are harder to get with the outdoor seating closing, so book ahead. The front room with a nice view onto historic Germantown Avenue is truly special. Thank you to the owners for bringing overdue superb cuisine to Chestnut HIll.

Such a gem. Small menu so the focus is on doing what chef does well. My chicken was wonderful. Food is plated beautifully. The grape leave amuse bouche was eh, but the focaccia was yummy. Already have reservations there set for a return visit.

Can’t say enough about Mica I love this place! We tend to order a lot of the menu and share plates around the table and they accommodated perfectly. The food was amazing. I can’t think of one dish out of the entire meal (16 dishes or so) that had any flaws. Everything was delicious, well presented, and just perfect. The service was impeccable, all the servers knew what they were serving and could tell you everything about each dish. The best advice I can give is to go and try it yourself you will not be disappointed.

Food, space, service were all lovely -- unfortunately there was a very rowdy group at the next table -- in the small elegant environment of Mica their TGIFridays sort of behavior was very annoying--we could not hear our own 4 person conversation. I wished the Mica staff had asked them to keep it down though I acknowledge this is not easy to do.

What a great experience!! The staff was very attentive and courteous. The tasting menu was amazing. I would highly recommend mica to anyone. The only criticism would be the crust of the Apple tart, a bit tough.

Decent. Our appetizers were great and my partner loved her entree. My steak was fine. Feels like it’s one tier below great and gets away with It because of location. Jansen down the road could survive in center city, this wouldn’t.

Mica has climbed to the top of our favorite places to go list. Last night, we had the weekly "special menu," which was themed to New England. Every dish was noteworthy. The duck breast was amazing. We would be happy if every one of the four courses made it onto the regular menu.

We would love to have been wowed by Mica because we're close by but it just wasn't that special given the pricing. The best thing was the amuse bouche with the grape leaf wrapped rice, lemon oil and dill. We had the tuna tartar, the roast chicken and the tasting menu which was Japanese themed. I'm still trying to figure out how that meshes with an American fare restaurant but whatever. The presentations were well done but for the check cost (about $60/each inclusive of the tip) I expected better depth of flavor, especially in the chicken entree at $27. Wait staff was very good.

Mica is a great restaurant owned by a young, creative chef. It's a BYO and it's fun to bring a really nice wine to go along with the wonderful food. Lots of local food, both meats and vegetables prepared beautifully.
