Along with four family and friends, I had a very enjoyable experience at Mia Francesca. We celebrated the 25th anniversary of the opening of the restaurant, at the original restaurant on Clark St in Chicago. Very friendly and helpful wait staff added to the very positive experience. The food was excellent. Because of the anniversary celebration, the prices on the entrees were more than reasonable (equivalent to the prices of 25 years ago), the speed of the service was very good, and the atmosphere was lively. This is my second time at Mia's on Clark, and there will be more. My friends said that was one of the best meals they ever had enjoyed.
We went for an early dinner with our 12 yr old son. They sat us in the coach house so it was nice and quiet. The food was reliable as always at Mia's. Our server was attentive but not overbearing.
Loud space, tight space, but perfect Italian vibe! Good it great. Servers are so nice!
Don’t go if you are looking for a quiet, private vibe.
Good food and good service. Was a bit disappointed with the portion size on the veal, but besides that had a pleasant experience.
We have been dining at Mia Francesca’s since 1993 - the early days! Went for a valentine’s Dinner and while it was easy to get and change our reservation, the atmosphere was just so so. We were seated upstairs (never even knew they had this option) and it just wasn’t the same ambiance as downstairs. The lighting and decor was just average. It felt like an afterthought. Service was excellent. My husband loved his meal, mine wasn’t my favorite I’ve had there but was solid. I was a bit disappointed unfortunately- but mostly in the atmosphere.
Delicious food, excellent service.
Amazing cheese ravioli and beef carpaccio
One of our all times favorites. We had our wedding reception upstairs. Love the food and the service! Always great!
The food was tasty, and the prices were good. The place is VERY noisy, and the service was extremely slow. But it was packed, and, as mentioned, I liked the shrimp pasta.
It was wonderful! Very cozy atomsphere. Food was amazing. Waiters were so very helpful helping with our choices. We will certainly go back again!
Great food, always dependable and just a great Chicago institution - they deserve to be around as long as they have, and we are lucky to have them.
Mia Francesca is definitely a family friendly restaurant, with ample seating space and many options on the menu. We came with a party of 6 and had enough space to share food and enjoy one another. In terms of food, I’ve had better Italian (though I’m a bit of a snob since my family is from there). It was good, just not the best I’ve had. I had the Rigatoni Siciliana, which was full of flavor. I also sampled the salmon, which was good as well. Their wine is is quite extensive and the waitress was helpful in choosing. All in all, it’s a good Italian restaurant, by far not the best I’ve eaten at, and great for a large party.
Mia Francesca is normally very crowded and loud. With the snow storm outside, the place was relatively empty which means you could converse with a date more easily. The food was very good but the service, despite being empty, wasn't up to par. We definitely had to flag down our server several times, pour our own wine and wished he would come back with more grated cheese.
I wanted to love this place, because the main restaurant is lively and has a great vibe and my spouse raved about the food from a previous visit. The reason I lowered the rating was because even though we had a reservation that we were on time for and even though there were plenty of open tables in the main restaurant, we were seated in the "coachhouse." We had to go past the bathrooms, out the door, and into a separate small building to enter this so-called coachhouse. I felt that we were being led to the outhouse which started the evening off on a sour note. Our server was courteous and I would consider him excellent. My pasta was just ok, but the rest of my family loved their food. I don't think I would come back as I think they seat people with children, even well-behaved ones, in the coachhouse and no one likes to feel that they are second-tier customers. We are all paying the same price regardless of where we are seated.
We've been going to Mia Francesca on Clark for over 20 years...always a terrific experience! Food is consistently outstanding. It's our favorite place!
I arrived a few minutes late and they were absolutely cool with seating me. Our server George was a friendly helpful fellow. Go with a friend and have the Sloppy Sundae for dessert. Check their specials--they bring fun variety to the menu.
Food was great service great. Tables were so close together it made it very hard to get up to use restroom. Backs of my sons chairs were butted right up to the tables behind them. Too squishy for comfort!!!
Food was very good. Service was Excellent. Good wine selection. Tables were very close. Had to look for a path to and from the bathroom and exit. Noise was very loud, could hear conversation next to us.
Stopped here for dinner before Blue Man Group show. Wonderful ambiance, great service and delicious food. And the best part - very reasonable. Strong recommendation!
I just recently went to Mia Francesca on Clark St. for a birthday dinner with 8 total people. I called ahead, made a reservation and brought up that it was a bday and the staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. They even brought out a few desserts for us all to share and discounted the tab! Would definitely recommend & plan on going back.
We hadn't been here in a while. Had a post-matinee dinner. Service was outstanding, food was reasonable and delicious. Table of four had a couple of pastas, the roasted 1/2 chicken, and a pizza. Everything was outstanding. We don't get to Wrigleyville too often, but definitely recommend for a great meal at a great price.
Food was great. Some table service was slow, and it was late only a couple of tables with diners. Example: entrees arrived and starter plates hadn't been cleared.
The restraunt was busy and a little louder when we arrived and they offered us a seat in the coach house. Service was quick and the food was delicious. This is my favorite Italian restaurant would recommend to anyone.
The food is always delicious here and the service is friendly and not intrusive.
Our server did such a great job helping us pick a wine! The food was excellent. Will be back again.
It was New Years Eve and the place was packed. They ran out of the roasted chicken which is what we have every time we come here. 25+ Years !!! Big diappointment. The noise level was off the charts but it was Nye so It was fun. Waiter was Surprisingly attentive and fast considering the crowd. Ordered only appetizers and left but still had a good time.
This was a great choice for New Years Eve. The place had a fabulous vibe to it that night, frigid as it was outside. Warm and cozy, with an on-time reservation. Even though the place was abuzz with holiday crowds, the service was spot on. They just know how to do it! We had not been to this original Mia's in a very long time, but visit other locations, and again found great ambiance, service, and food.
Food was only warm when it reached the table.
Great food, great environment. But unfortunately can't say the same about my server. Lucky she had a great support staff to back her up.
It was a very cold day in Chicago. We were seated by the door and was quite chilly when other guests entered. Otherwise a wonderful meal. Great food and service!
