About Mia Francesca
The first restaurant in The Francesca's Restaurant Group, Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices.
About The Francesca’s Restaurant Group: Founded in 1992 by Restaurateur Scott Harris, Francesca’s Restaurant Group has grown from a small, welcoming Italian restaurant on Chicago’s North Clark Street to a restaurant group of three concepts across 33 locations and four states. Based in Chicago, Francesca’s Restaurant Group currently owns and operates 23 Francesca’s Restaurants, five Davanti Enoteca, and five Glazed and Infused locations.

Mia Francesca Ratings and Reviews
Mia Francesca never fails to accommodate requests for special seating, or modifications for dishes due to dietary restrictions. My favorite spot for a date night with my hubby and a great place for us to bring our kids too. Special eggplant salad and pork chops were too die for. Thank you Mia Francesca!!
Really good food. Attentive service. Waiter was there but never hovering. Only down side was that tables are jammed together and room was really loud. Seemed like a lot of locals. Really great to allow modification of ingredients. Located close to Briar Theater.
Mia Francesca's is a favorite of mine, my husband's, and son's. They are great to accommodate special requests in the meal as well as for seating. The holiday gift certificate deal is excellent and we would recommend doing that! Buy $100 in gift certificates and get a @25 bonus card to use in January, February & March.
Food and service were superb and reasonably priced. Noise level made conversation very difficult especially for older ears. Would not eat in again but would do take out. The solution would be easy and not all that expensive -- sound absorbing materials on the ceiling and walls. We will check out other Francesca locations to see if any convenient ones provide quieter surroundings.
Last minute res got us a table for three at 8:00 on a Sat night. Place was packed and we were squished into a center room table, but that adds to the fun of this place that’s been around since the 90’s. Cosmos- !!! Food very good. Linguine was perfect as was the sauce, but the meataballs were almost gamey. Took the leftovers home-better the next day. Lively. Fun. A neighborhood staple
Lively atmosphere. Eclectic crowd and amazing delectable pastas. They serve large portions. We had butternut squash tortalacci dont know how to spell! But best ever! Bus people a bit too efficient as they cleared wine that still had some in it. Also kept interrupting great conversation. Thus the 4 star! Still highly recommend as you wont be disappointed in the experience!
We dined at Mia Francesca before going to see a show at Briar Street Theater. While our table wasn't great (right in front of where the wait staff picks up the plates) it was an exciting vibe due to the Cubs game on the two bar TVs and a full dining room.
The tables are very close together, and I give a lot of credit to the wait staff for maneuvering well between the tight tables, kitchen, and bar area.
The food was very good and reasonable for our group of 5.
It wasn't our first time at Mia Francesca, and we will for sure return!
We arrived at 5:30p and got a cozy table in the back. The service
Was great. We had the calamari to start, the arugula salad and the bucatini special. Homemade pasta! Yum! We had the pistachio cream puffs for dessert! They were out of this world. Don't miss this place! Absolutely, wonderful! You will need a reservation.
Food here is always great. Our service tho was awful. The waiter took our drink order then came back to the table 4 times to ask us again what we wanted. Mind you there was only 2 of us. When the drinks came they were wrong. The wrong food was delivered to our table. When the correct food came I order a glass of wine - it came about 15 minutes later. Not sure what the issue was but the service was laughable.
We took our daughter here with a group of friends for her 16th birthday and everything was just perfect, from the food to the service and the entire restaurant chimed in on Happy Birthday. The salmon is always fabulous and the chocolate lava cake is to die for.
Probably the best pork chops I’ve had years. Asked the kitchen to make their great fresh green bean salad which they did.
Only down side with a good waiter was that he spent more time conversing with his friends in his station than taking care of his other tables.
Would come back
We were surprised at the mediocrity of the cooking. The beef carpaccio had very little flavor (and seemed a low-grade cut of beef). The tortilacci was chewy and cream sauce very thin (not creamy but watery). The pasta with Bolognese had hardly any meat in it. So sorry--we think the room is cozy/cute if a bit too noisy, and we wanted to like the food.
