Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

    The restaurant was so accommodating with our two year old. Excellent service and recognized the need to be quick to get us out in less than 90 minutes. Food was great, especially the linguine with Scampi.

    Our food was outstanding. We had an Alaskan cod. Service was excellent bartender. Ryan was very good and our server was excellent as well

    Fortunately, we were able to get a table outside on a beautiful evening. Everything was great. This would be a place I would NOT go unless I could go at 4 or 5 as the noise level becomes deafening as it gets busy (inside). I no longer enjoy shouting at my dinner companions.

    Presentation of food was outstanding. Drinks are really good and I love seeing places with an open kitchen. The service was insanely fast, I received my bread, my pasta which I clearly said was going to be my appetizer, and my main course in a matter of minutes which made my food cold. I tried not to let the temperature of the food get in the way of flavors of the food which were great, but the service was insanely fast. I liked the setting and atmosphere, but the service needs to slow down.

    We had a 5:30PM reservation and ordered ice tea and a salad to split before deciding on entrees. The Caesar salad was served 15 minutes later. The 10-day old Romaine lettuce in my refrigerator is fresher than what was in the salad. The croutons were crumbly. We were later informed that the restaurant had run out of iced tea. We selected the roasted half-chicken and pork chop as entrees. These arrived 40 minutes later and the chicken was either over-cooked or leftover from Saturday night. The potato wedges looked fresh on top and on the sides, but the bottom was greasy and had to be cut with the steak knife. The wait staff apologized for the delay of the entrees, but not for the additional 15 minutes it took to get a check and get out of there.

    Always a great place — good food, awesome service and beautiful place to gather. They’re accommodating when I had to change my reservation. Staff was very helpful to make sure the dessert was safe for my son who has tree nut allergy. Staff/manager was friendly. Francesca’s is our go to restaurant… for any occasion. We bring our family and friends there. Francesca’s never disappoint.

    We enjoyed our outdoor lunch on Father’s Day. Our server, Mike, did everything possible to make sure our dining experience was amazing.
