Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

    Big disappointment. Used to be our go to restaurant in the neighborhood but something has changed and the food is not what it used to be. The waitress was very good and whole service was fine, but the food was not.

    Mia Francesca is always a great place to go for a vibrant scene. Dinner was good overall. Disappointed that our server was not welcoming or even interested. Came for my birthday and though I overall enjoyed our dinner, took a little of the enjoyment away.

    We had an absolutely fantastic dinner. Our server Audrey was delightful and food scrumptious as always. This is a neighborhood gem.

    Our server was awful. Did not even say hi to us. Spent maybe 1 minute at our table the entire time we were there. Spent more time talking to her friends at the table next to us drinking with them than tending to us. Disappointing for what is one of our favorite restaurants we are regulars at.

    We have been there many times and always enjoy the experience except for one problem. The music is way way too loud. I asked several times during the visit to lower, but it did not happen. What really is the most annoying is the booming base which I also asked them to lower. Very difficult to have a conversation when seated at a table in the main area. Maybe you might have some influence.

    We had a business dinner on Monday evening at 7:30. Our table was ready when we arrived and our server took great care of us. We never felt rushed or neglected. The chopped salad was delicious and everyone enjoyed their dinner choices. We had a tiramisu and the sloppy sundae for dessert. They were both amazing! I highly recommend that sundae!
