Mia Francesca Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
It's been several years since we've eaten here and it seems to have gone downhill. While the ambiance and service was good, the quality of the food was very uninspiring. The olive oil tasted cheap. The grouper was WAY over salted. And the piccata was pretty bland. I'm sad to say we won't be going back any time soon.
We went for NYE dinner before a concert. It was amazing! Our waiter was attentive and quick. I ordered the pasta with asparagus and my husband ordered rigatoni with vegetables. Both were delicious and I ate every bite of mine. The prices were reasonable and the food came quick. I would recommend to anyone.
My husband and I find ourselves in a pickle on ocassion during both Thanksgiving and Christmas most of the time. We are very tired of one of the restaurants at Crabtree and a few of our favorites are not always open these holidays.
We LOVED Mia Francesca Trattoria and will definitely be back.
First of all we dined here on Christmas Day. Started with drinks and calamari before a movie. Bartender was very attentive and helpful. The calamari was excellent. We came back for dinner at 5:30. We were seated promptly maybe a few minutes before. They had a She Crab as a special, 3 of the 5 at our table got that. 2 people shared the Caprese salad. All appetizers were beautifully presented an very tasty. Two of us had the Pan roasted Striped Bass specials with shiitake mushrooms, roasted peppers and asparagus. Absolutely fabulous. The roasted grouper special according to two of our party was outstanding. My husband ordered their seafood linguine which I sampled was very good too, with generous portions of seafood. But what topped the evening was the excellent service we received. His generosity made me ask his connections to Mia Francesca’s. Helmut, our waiter, is also the CFO of the group that owns this restaurant. Helmut, thanks so much for your attentiveness to us and your generosity to us. Such a memorable evening thanks to you.
Wonderful food and terrific service. Our table was close to the open kitchen which is always fun but the 2' of space between the back of my chair and the half wall into the kitchen was a constant raceway for servers and diners during the entire meal.Would ask for any other tables in the restaurant rather than those spots.
Our family has spent many Christmas Eve Dinners at Mia Francesca. This was absolutely horrible!! We will never go there again.
Dirty, Sloppy, Disinterested Server.
Ridiculously slow service.
Wrong items delivered.
No attempt to make amends until the check was delivered.
Just Sad and Awful.
This was my first visit here and I enjoyed it! There were five of us in our party. I had the rigatoni with pesto, which I really liked. My mother in law had the spinach ravioli which looked to die for. My husband and brother in law both ordered the chicken parm. Their only complaint was that it didn’t have enough sauce. Finally, my brother in law’s girlfriend had the bolognese and she really liked it. It was a bit overpriced, however other than that and the lack of sauce on the chicken parm, we enjoyed ourselves.
My husband came for the first time recently and we were very pleasantly surprised! His chicken parm was incredible and being from the north he said it’s the best he’s had since moving to NC. My chicken linguini was amazing as well. The Alfredo was thick and creamy and I ate every bite! We will definitely be back!
We had a special meal here with our family after exchanging our wedding vows. The waitress and waiter were very friendly ! The appertizer's and entree's arrived quickly. All of the food was delicious. The inside was beautiful. I would definetely come here again.
An expensive disappointment for thanksgiving meal. I was thrilled that it was a buffet with foods on menu that sounded appetizing. There was a lot to choose from, appealing to the eye, but there was not one item I would have considered for seconds or even left overs. The ambiance was cold and not welcoming past the hostess. I tried not to complain to avoid ruining our family meal but not inclined to return in the future.
We went to Mia Francesca for Thanksgiving dinner for the second time. Word must be getting around, because we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated (despite having a reservation), and the lines for the buffet tended to be rather long. It would have been more manageable perhaps to have antipasti in one spot, pastas in another spot, and carving stations at another - but there probably isn't room for that. The food, once we got it, was superb in every way.
We were there for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the food very much. Great variety, kept it fresh and hot, service was average, but they were very busy. It was our first time visiting, and we will be back, on a normal service night to check out the regular menu and service. If I have one complaint, it would be the cramped feel of the seating area, there wasn’t enough room between the tables, and when you would get up from your chair, you felt like you were intruding on the table next to you.
We had a reservation for the Thanksgiving buffet and to our delight it was wonderful. Be warned though, you may be seated upstairs from the buffet table, a challenge to navigate busy stairs with a platter of food in one hand. A slight deterrent to second helpings as the return trips were unlimited. Many choices to choose from, and the desserts were very good indeed. It was over $100 for two of us and we did not order cocktails, so again, bewarned, it isnt cheap. Next time we will starve for a week before going. Compliments to the chef.
The music was loud and trance like. The tables were close together and noise echoed with the high vaulted ceilings . I could hear every word of the conversation of the table next to us which was extremely distracting. It made having your own conversation awkward because you knew everyone around you could hear. The food was just okay, pretty bland and needed a lot of salt. For the price point I would say we won't be returning. I do have to mention that the service was the best part of the meal.
Two of us ordered same dinner, one came out fine..other pasta dry no sauce. When brought to waitress attention she said well takes time to make will be awhile. In the meantime all others finished their dinners when sauce finally came out. They did not even care, I just asked for a to go box.
