We had reservations for a group of 12 for 6:30pm. It was a very busy night. But even though we made reservations, it was after 8pm before they were able to seat the group. Even with the reservations, they could not figure out where to put the group, and then they did not have enough chairs to put around the table. Once the group was seated, they should have assigned one waiter to the table. Or assigned some people to help with things like bread and water refills. Instead the one waiter was working a lot of other tables. The group had been there more than an hour and a half and had all read the menu and was ready to order immediately. Yet, the group had to beg to order, get bread, get water refills, and get the check. It was almost 10pm before the group could leave - so much for making plans after with an early dinner reservation - and it wasnt because the group took their time to visit - we were starving and scarfed the food once it arrived. Also, they could not pour beer into a glass correctly. I have been here another time with just 2 people and no reservations, and it was a very different experience. Incidentally, we had 2 sets of reservations - another for 6 - before we realized we had already covered eveyone in one set of reservations. We cancelled the reservations for 6 at the last minute. I do not believe they were equipmed to handle any more reservations that night and could not have handled the other reservation they had taken. Again, it appeared they were incapable of managing reservations and serving groups.
I met an old high school friend and her partner for brunch. I had dined At the Vintage Park location. Was pleased to find that the food and service was as good at the Main Street location. Actually, service was better at this location than the VP one. Well definitely recommend it to people. Only drawback is the parking issue. Luckily, we came on a sun. so parking was free. Had to park around the block.
I called ahead about 15 minutes prior to our 6:00 p.m. reservation to confirm. I was told our table would be ready. We arrived right on time. Was told our table was not ready. The host said that when you book on Open Table they give you a reservation whether we are already committed or not! Kept saying it would be any time. We sat at the bar to wait. Took a long time and we had to go ask someone if we would get any bar service. Finally got bar service. Noticed people sitting a long time at their tables before their food came. Two in our party left to go get the car since it was getting late and we had a show to catch. At 6:51 as we were getting up to leave they told us a table had come open. There was no way we could have been able to wait on their food and still catch the 8:00 show. Staff was not very helpful. Bartender was friendly. I guess we will never know if the food is good there or not!!!
My friend and I enjoyed a quiet brunch one Sunday at Mia Bella's. The Brunch prices were more than reasonable and the food was so yummy! We were seated right away, even though we were early. The service was impeccable and the restaurant was very clean and beautiful. I would definitely go here again and again!
After eating great seafood for three nights we needed a change. Mia Bella Trattoria provided a delightful and delicious one. Our appetizer, Goat Cheese Putanesca, was a superb start. Our two entrees were even better. The Ossobuco di Capretto was among the best lamb dishes I've tasted. My wife proclaims the Lasogna alla Pescatore the best seafood pasta dish ever. Adequate wine list and courteous and knowledgeable service were appreciated. The tables are close and noise level somewhat high but we heartily recommend this place!
I adore pasta, but rarely find many impressive dishes at restaurants lately. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Penne Al Salmone (with whole wheat pasta substituted for the penne). I wasn't even convinced I would like the tomato elements combined with salmon, but it was fantastic. The dish had tons of complementary flavors - with a touch of sophistication, but still well qualifying as comfort food...for those of us who consider a good pasta dish to be a comfort.
Ate at the Main St. location for our anniversary; overall very good experience. The dining area is smaller than expected, but provided a more intimate atmosphere than some of the larger chain Italian restaurants in town. Definitely recommend making a reservation vs. walking in, though. Had we not reserved, we would've faced a 45 minute wait. The absolute best part of the experience was the food; superior quality and attention to detail. Wine selection is impressive, although a bit pricey. Service was the only non-perfect part of the night; server was polite and food arrived quickly but server spent too much time in the kitchen talking to the manager instead of checking on tables. Would definitely recommend for couples or small groups!
I have been to Mia Bella a few times before and always remember having a great experience with great food. Unfortunately this time was not the case. It has been a few years since I have been so I don't know if it was a fluke or the norm. When i first arrived had to wait to be greeted, once I was finally greeted I was seated, given a glass of water fairly promptly but not spoken to. It took a long time for the server to come and ask me for my drink order and when my friend joined me and it again took a long time for him to be greeted. Everything was just very slow. We were there for over an hour before our entrees were ready, unfortunately due to the slow service we weren't able to eat at the restaraunt and had to take our food to go.
Since we live downtown, we love the convenience of being able to walk to this longtime spot. And almost always the food is very good or better including this dinner where we had the risotto del giorno [lobster on this evening] and the build your own pizza [love the crust]. However, service can be very hit and miss and on this relatively empty evening, it was more miss than hit.
One other thing we miss is that the wine list used to have a 10 bottle section of $25 wines--affordable if all you wanted was a casual evening meal with a casually priced bottle of wine.
We were very impressed with our server Jose. In addition to our table, he was also tending to a group of 10 right next to ours. After taking our order, Jose made a point to keep us posted regarding the meal preparation timing. He also stopped by our table periodically to see if we needed anything else. Although Jose was busy, he never seemed rushed when he stopped by to visit with us. We will definitely come back again.
We searched using Trip Advisor and found this gem! The pizza was delicious!!!! We all had a different one, and loved them. The Service was great as well. It was not loud at all...we were able to have easy conversation. Will be back if I'm in that area again.
Small cramped restaurant. Our waiter was nice, but not very attentive. We were seated near the kitchen/serving area which was rather unpleasant. I was very pleased with my meal, but the environment and service were not good enough that I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
