Mia Bella Trattoria - Green Street Ratings and Reviews
A friend and I went prior to the Lady Gaga show at Toyota Center. Several other concert goers were eating there and it was a fun atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. It's my new favorite Italian Food Restaurant in Houston. I will definitely be back and will bring other friends.
We had a great meal and a great business meeting. Super staff and food was spot on. Manager came out when we were finished and checked in on us which is always a nice touch. Am worried though not too many other patrons I will go back with my wife and friends. Very pleased with MIa Bella.
Not sure what’s going on at Mia Bella, but this place has gone downhill fast! It used to be one of our favorite Italian spots in Houston and a great dinner spot before Rockets games. But last night our experience was horrible and the food was pretty different than normal. Fried calamari had three times the batter and was so chewy we couldn’t swallow it. The entrees weren’t much better - chicken was over cooked. Even the cocktails weren’t going and hardly any alcohol. It was bad enough that we’ll probably never come back. Maybe new ownership? New management? Either way, it’s sad and $90 down the drain.
I love Mia Bella! They have great pizzas and build your own pasta dishes and the frozen Bellinis are so yummy! The downtown location is so convenient if you're doing anything at the Toyota Center you can literally walk there. Will def return next time we have an outing downtown!
There as obviously a communication issue with our waiter, more like he didn't listen! We repeated our order several times. They got 1 out of 3 dishes correct. Our iced tea wasn't filled-we had to continually ask for refills. The nail in the coffin came when the waiter told us the wrong order he originally brought our daughter was $2 cheaper than the one he replaced it with. Not sure how chicken alfredo costs more than the shrimp pasta. There was never an apology for getting 2 of the orders wrong. My husband just picked through the wrong meal he was brought. We would have stayed for dessert and coffee, but not with our horrible dinner experience. Will never go back there.
I hand the sea scallops Rizzuto, and the beef carpaccio, both of which were excellent! Also had a very delicious glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall a very good experience. I would go back in a heart beat! Also had their menu clearly marked for gluten free eating, which I appreciate, especially in an Italian restaurant!
We made our reservation through Open Table, where we specified table inside. When we arrived, the hostess said they didn't note that on our reservation, and the only table available was outside. We waited :20 for a table to become available.
They were either short staffed or just not expecting the two large tables. We waited 1:15 for our pizza and one pasta entree, which the lasts
Date night before concert at House of Blues. Very convenient. Staff very attentive and well versed on menu. Food was ok. Wife had chicken Picatta and I had lamb chops. Picatta not very good, very muttled. Lamb chops were ok, not impressive. An opportunity to wow was missed. However cheese board was actually a great value for appetizer. That being said, probably very good for lunch and some comfort food to break up the days monotony. But would not recommend to be the star of the evening.
Noise! We couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone have a reasonable conversation. The waiter couldn't hear us, and we had to have him repeat most of what he said. It was not particularly busy or "energetic"; just lousy acoustics.
The food and service were pretty good, but I would not go back.
We were there for my mother in law's birthday, although the service was ok, the food was average at best. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, it was tough and rubbery, it did not eat it. I took it with me and I shouldn't have. My wife ordered the polpette with a spinach papardelle, bad also. My mother in law ordered a pizza and it was ok, not bad but definitely not one to remember. Then they brought a complimentary Italian cream cake, it was just taken out of the refrigerator, should have been at room temperature. A nice gesture but inferior quality.
We all shared a fried mozzarella appetizer and it was fine. I doubt we recommend the place or go back.
I have always like Mia Bella since my first visit about five years ago. Located in downtown Houston, it is a perfect place to take coworkers for lunch. Enjoyed it so much that my wife and I plans our anniversary dinner here each year at the one near our home. Aviance & Food is excellent.
We booked the reservation because the restaurant is located 3 blocks from Toyota Center, and adjacent to House of Blues. We'd seen the place when attending concerts at HOB, and always wanted to try it....and it was a very pleasant surprise.
Smallish due to building configuration, it has a cozy feel, and most tables have a view of the bar/kitchen area. Lots of waiters/servers for a small place, but all worked out well.
We split the Wild Mushroom Strudel for an appetizer, and it was scrumptious! Flaky puff pastry with a delicious filling--would order it again!
1/2 House Salad was great and plenty for me, and my wife loved her Tomato Basil Bisque. The Italian Sausage Rigatoni was spicy (from the sausage--I was expecting sweet) but well cooked, and my wife's Potato Gnocchi was a little heavy for my taste--but she enjoyed it.
No time for dessert on this trip, but we'll be back!
This is a great place for Italian food in downtown Houston. It is conveniently located and there is plenty of parking. The food is great and the service is always fabulous. The only downfall is the noise level. Once the restaurant begins to fill the cacophony is deafening.
Great food and terrific service! The only drawback is that their air conditioning system seems to not keep up with Houston heat. We have noticed this on multiple visits. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but the room temp is usually in the 77 degree neighborhood.
Had the "surf and turf" - grilled lobster tail, rib eye steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus. It was TERRIFIC!
