Mia Bella Trattoria - Green Street
Second visit to this location, air conditioning seemed to be out, but, didn’t ask
Food was great and Marco was pleasant (he added to a great experience)
Will return and will tell freinds
The restaurant was very hot which made it quite uncomfortable. Also $15 to park the car hurts.
We had dinner reservation before attending our prom. We were in and out quickly and the food was amazing. The management was even able to accommodate us and make room for an additional couple that was added last minute. We will certainly be back.
We loved the dinner and the service was great. Since we are traveling with our dog we are limited to outdoor seating areas, but that wasn’t a problem.
Overall it’s an excellent authentic Italian trattoria worthy of a try.
This was our third visit to Mia Bella in two days (no, we're not food writers). We enjoyed all three experiences, although the first visit was better than the second or third. On this visit our server needed three attempts to get our martinis right. Who's fault is that? It's difficult to know, because it sure looks like some of the servers get behind the bar. Anyway, the third try was a charm. As we did the previous two times, we again took the "build-your-own-pasta" approach. Here, my wife had papardelle with mushroom pesto--the mushroom pesto differed from that we enjoyed the day before, because this was a cream-based version (that was not advertised as such)--topped with pancetta, eggplant and grilled chicken. She did not enjoy it due to the presence of heavy cream in the pesto. I had spaghetti with pomodoro sauce, topped with spicy sausage, eggplant and mushrooms. This was delicious. I would recommend Mia Bella, although you have to be vigilant with respect to the various pasta/risotto sauces due to the possibility of heavy cream. It's a fun, lively place and a good value for dining out.
This was our second visit to Mia Bella, but first for dinner (our first visit was for lunch). We really enjoyed it with one caveat (see below). Once again, my wife and I each built our own pasta dishes. My wife had the linguine with pomodoro (tomato) sauce. She added eggplant and mushrooms as veggies and topped the dish with spicy Italian sausage. Grade: solid A. I had the penne with basil pesto, adding mushrooms and roasted red peppers for veggies. I topped mine with a mixture of grilled chicken (so so) and grilled shrimp (OK). The big problem: this was not classic basil pesto, but rather basil pesto cream sauce. This was not advertised on the menu, so I was very disappointed. I ate the dish anyway. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected. As a frequent diner and accomplished in-home gourmet cook I know my basil pesto and it should not be a heavy concoction. I would never use heavy cream. My suggestion to you: if you visit Mia Bella make sure to get explicit clarification regarding any of the pesto sauces you order. There are several options available, so just know what you're getting.
This was our first of three visits to Mia Bella Trattoria and this was excellent! It was also the best of our three tries here. Our server was great. We had perfect martinis, always a good start. For lunch we each tried the "build-your-own-pasta" feature, which is wonderful--everyone should do this. We each had the papardelle pasta with wild mushroom pesto as the base and added eggplant (you get up to two ingredients in this section). My wife topped hers with the lamb meatballs (a little overdone) and I added the grilled chicken (good job here). The dishes were delicious. Very good value; Houston seemed to us to offer relatively better value when compared to many other major US cities. I recommend Mia Bella!
I wasn't expecting a buffet for Mother's Day (didn't see it on the website), but everyone was pleased with the spread and quality of food. I'm a vegetarian so I would've preferred more meatless pasta offerings (a la cart, etc) otherwise it was nice and Mom was happy.
Our Mothers Day visit to Mia Bella was lovely. They seated us on the patio and it was nice to hear the music outside from House of Blues next door. The brunch buffet was good. I would have liked more food choices that were in line with my diet and more breakfast foods would have been nice. Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Overall it was a great experience.
The food was good, but the service was not good. When we got there , there was no one else but my husband and I and we waited like 10 minutes and I finally asked who was our waiter, because no one had approached our table. The waiter was a smarty pants and the place was sooo hot. It felt like they didn’t have the air conditioner on. I had a 50.00 gift card and they told me it was not good, when in fact it was good. Just a terrible experience.
Great food! Great staff!
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated promptly. We were there for lunch on my birthday. My family noticed our bread plates and silverware were all dirty. My husband looked over at the empty table next to us and their's were too. It was rather hot inside the restaurant. Mimosa was not good - low quality ingredients. Food was okay. 3 out of the 4 people at lunch got sick after eating here. I will not be back.
Great brunch cocktails. Complimentary garlic bread. Large portions, everything tasty and good variety of types.
The food was amazingly good.
Our meal started with bread with Olive Oil/Balsamic Vinegar for dipping. The bread was hot and delicious.
We had two appetizers, one of which was calamari. The calamari was delicious, but one thing we didn't like was the marinara sauce for our order, it had chili powder in it. It would have been better without the chili powder added to it.
We also had Wild Mushroom Struedel as our second appetizer that was unbelievable awesome and I highly recommend it.
Our main courses consisted of Seafood Lasagna and Seafood Capellini, with risotto and polenta as side dishes. I ordered the side dishes because my son had never had either and I thought he would enjoy them, plus the cost of side dishes is very reasonable. The risotto was excellent, as was the polenta.
It's hard to describe the main dishes, other than to say I still drool thinking about them. Large pieces of seafood where in both, and the capellini had three large sea scallops that were cooked to perfection.
I have been to many Italian Restaurants, this has become my favorite in the downtown Houston area.
Great food, easy to get to. We got lucky and meter parked right outside the front door but I can see how parking might be a problem. The food and service are worth having to hunt for a parking spot.
My wife and I had dinner before a show next door at the House of Blues.
The food was excellent and Antonio’s service was perfect.
We have always enjoyed Mia Bella’s.
Great food and great prices! Would suggest getting different to go cups for drinks.
Excellent food and service was fabulous! I had the seafood lasagna...very, very good. My husband had the giant meatballs and spaghetti. It to was excellent. Will definitely go back.
The food and service was great, it was a little loud but I believe there was an concert or something that contributed to the noise issue. Would love to go next time when there's no events going on near by.
Too brightly lit. Food and service good. What you would expect for the downtown Houston area.
We had a fabulous time. The food and drinks were great and the staff was very attentive. We will be back for sure.
My 23rd birthday.
Super convenient if attending event at House of Blues. Food was good but not extraordinary. Service was great. Super friendly and efficient. Good prices on happy hour drinks.
We often eat at Mia Bella's before performances at Toyota Center. We find it a wonderful way to start our evening! Great food and always wonderful service.
Vanessa G was a great waitress. Great happy hour selections and our meals were delicious We enjoyed the atmosphere on the outside patio. Just a wonderful start to an evening .
We loved the food and was so impressed with the happy hour choices too! ❤️gnocchis
Had a great time, good food. Staff was very attentive.
The service was wonderful and quick. The food was delicious, perfect portions. I only wish this restaurant was located in my state. Might have to return to Houston just for this place
My boss is particular in his food selections, Mia Bella has good food. He likes to conduct business meetings at this location also sometimes the music is a little loud but they will turn down upon request. This is his go-to-restaurant and eat at Mia Bella - Green Street location several times a week.
Was an amazing dinner with great food and great service. Such COOL Menus... Not sure what they were made from but I couldn't get past the silky feel...
Food was great everything we tried was very good !
Love the location but the music was so loud couldn’t have a conversation. And the food was not what we expected — we have eaten at the Main Street location and love the food and the ambiance. Main Street location reminded us of small restaurants in NYC and the food was more authentic and the portion manageable. The wine selection was limited didn’t seen one bottle of Italian wine listed. Sorry but we were very disappointed!
We a fantastic server who made wonderful recommendations
I eat lunch at Mia Bella’s often because the food is always delicious and service is great!
We arrived a little before our reservation time and we were seated right away. Waitress was prompt and polite. The manager came to the table a couple of times to see how we were. The food was great, my wife had the scallop risotto, and I made my own pasta dish fettuccine, with cilantro and jalapeno pesto. I also added Italian sausage to the dish. The experience was great and would recommend eating here.
Food was alright, but seating was tight as our reservations for 5 put us at a table for 4. Space in the restaurant was tight and loud. Food was good.
Food was delicious and service was also great. Great and very energetic atmosphere.
Awesome food! Manager and staff were very polite. Can't wait to go back.
The food is delicious ! The service was great ! Highly recommend Mia Bella!
Service was outstanding. The staff answered tough questions very well in a gracious manner. Food was delicious and well-prepared. Wide array of choices. A little loud, but lively.
My boyfriend and I had our late Valentine’s Day date there and we loved it. The food was amazing and our waiter was so kind and always helpful. Our favorite was the cannoli at the end and the free bread and oil.
