Mi Piace Ratings and Reviews
Our get-together with the folks who took care of our parents went very well.
All of the menu items were superb as to selection. The taste and quality of the entrees was nothing short of spectacular - Italian favorites cooked to perfection. The chef must also be a saucier, because his lemon/caper sauce for the Pollo Piccatto was amazing.
The wine list is impressive - you could take an hour just reading the choices available and another hour trying to choose (or getting really hammered trying out the available stock).
We're going back - soon. There is just too much good stuff here...
AND THE SERVERS AND COOKS ARE AWESOME.
Michael should receive an academy award for his skills as a waiter. He made up for a bit of a disappointing dinner and a pretty energetic crowd. Complements are in order for those who seated us. It was exactly what we requested..in the corner away from the crowd. So-If you don't mind a noisy environment and mediocre food, you should go but ask for Michael to be your waiter.
Our waitress seemed to have an attitude once she knew we were not big spenders!! The grilled pork chops were delicious but the pasta meals others at the table ordered were so-so. Very nice they gave my son a delicious piece of birthday chocolate cake at the end of the meal with a candle. Nice touch and very thoughtful! Thank you!
Pleasant hostess who greeted us nicely. Our terrific waitress was solicitous, attentive and expressed very professional comportment!
I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to friends and suggest it for business-related dining.
Overall, I enjoy the hours that the restaurant is open and, that it does not close between meals!
Mi Piace has been around for quite some time, but the restaurant still delivers everything that I'm looking for: a casual but classy atmosphere with great food and service. My girlfriend and I were here to try the DineLA menu and was not disappointed. We had smoke salmon rolls and beef carpaccio for our first courses, mushroom risotto and sea bass for our second courses, and both of us loved the tiramisu that came as our dessert. The meal was just the right quantity and we left very satisfied, and our server was very courteous and attentive, even bringing a dish for my pooch. We will be happy to return in the future.
I understand that a prix fixe menu most likely means smaller sized plates but the portions for Mi Piace for DineLA were a little ridiculous. I could have easily eaten 50% more of my entree upon finishing it. While the food was delicious, the quality did not outweigh the quantity.
On a date, I made a reservation for 7:45pm and I checked in at 7:30. We waited a while until I saw folks that came in after us get seated. I approached the hostess and was told she accidentally forgot about us. We were finally seated around 8-8:05.
When seated, it took quite a while for a server to tend to us.
The food was pretty good, I enjoyed the calamari and Alfredo with Shrimp.
The server never came around to check on us and it took quite a while to pay my bill.
In short, food was good and service was terrible.
This was the 2nd time I have been here and I was so excited to order the fettuccine because I love truffle and the hint of it in that dish is amazing. And the additional perk is having fresh pasta to Enjoy! I wasn't disappointed! It was very warm in the restaurant and didn't cool down at all which was quite uncomfortable. My husband got the dine LA menu with the surf and turf and pork belly which was amazing and finished off with a chocolate creme brulee which was perfect and light! We will definitely return!
This was for a special birthday celebration which I planned and alerted the staff to days prior and the day of. The waitress was completely M.I.A. Except when the check came, the restaurant was so crowded we could barely move, we sat next to the bathroom entrance/kitchen and it was insanely hot, the staff forgot it was my friend's birthday, ran out of main ingredients like the arugala for their specialty pizza, and the waitress added her own tip at the end. That was not a typo. My friend's were astounded. I've been coming to Mi Piace since I was in high school. I'm almost 30 and needless to say, I will never return. I organized this as a big surprise for my friend's 30th and was so let down. The entrees were good but certainly not worth the price or the poor experience.
Bruschetta was all bread, no flavor, not juicy, no garlic.
Onion soup was so so - nothing to write home about.
Cesar salad - all dark leaves, no punch, no anchovy taste to the dressing - all in all tasteless.
Bruschetta was the worst of all. Bruschetta should be thin, with juices soaking into the crunchy bread. This was a thick piece of bread w cut up tomatoes on it.
