Went in for my birthday Everyone around us was getting their birthday desserts with sparklers. They did nothing so a friend reminded them and didn’t believe us till they checked our online reservation. The waiter felt bad for forgetting so he said, pick a dessert and I’ll take care of that for you! We picked a cake that they in the end charged us for. Just an odd experience

I took my girlfriend out for her Mother’s Day lunch. We Did order and we got some wine and that was fine however once the food came our waiter totally ignored us. He was nowhere to be found and a how to keep asking several different people for the check at the end and it took them about 20 minutes to get the check to us. I’ve been there a few times and never had service like this before but I’m gonna say today was the worst I had experience for service.

We often meet at Mi Piace, two friends/colleagues of 30 years who live many miles apart. We often have the same waitstaff, to our delight; she treats us as if we were family. This time we both ordered the insalata di Taos, because it's so incredibly good.

This was the 3rd time we dined at the restaurant. Though the restaurant was busy, we didn’t wait more than a half hour for our meals to arrive. I enjoyed a flavorful omelet with roasted potatoes and was pleased with the taste. The omelette had a perfect amount of salt and spice along with avocado, cheese, mushrooms, onions and peppers. I would definitely order again.

Ok. Some mixed feelings here. First, the food is very good. One caveat, they mention “house made pasta.” Well, in truth some is house made and some is dry. The service is where I take some issue. Allow me to explain. The restaurant is busy. For good reason they have food runners. And this is fine if executed well. We had the occasion of sitting right by the kitchen. Food runners are trying to get the food out fresh and hot (and that’s a good thing), but when someone new arrives at the table and plops down a course without uttering a single syllable, to me, this misses the mark. For example, a salad arrives, “may I get you some fresh ground pepper” for example. This issue could be smoothed over by a server quickly making a round and simply asking if everything was all right. This did not happen. Seemingly small details, but at this price point, I expect it. And although the server was nice and tried to be attentive, the knowledge of the menu seemed to be limited by upselling. As we all know, this is part of the game, but genuine honesty goes a long way in my opinion. In all, the atmosphere reminds me a busy Manhattan Italian spot, with the service lacking in that final polish. People, including the owner asked how the experience was; it was just an ask and most likely didn’t want to hear the answer.

I reached out to the manager because of how disappointed we were with this visit. We have been here several times and have always enjoyed the food and service but unfortunately this time the food was fine, nothing really memorable but the service was nonexistent. After our order was taken we didn’t see our waitress and once our food was delivered by a runner we didn’t see anyone again until I started flagging someone down, we just wanted some refills.

This is the second, and probably the last, time. My wife and I ate here. The first time the quality of the food made up for mediocre service. This time the bread and appetizer were the best part of our early dinner and the service was very poor. A dinner that takes two hours for an appetizer, main course and dessert is simply too drawn out and this was at 4:30 in the afternoon. It was only moderately full. I found it very annoying. The dirty state of the bathroom and the inability to even flush the toilet was an added negative factor.

The food as always, was EXCELLENT, but rated even higher was our server… SHE WAS OUTSTANDING! We enjoyed a casual conversation and we were not rushed to vacate our table- - something rare these days in fine eating establishments! I highly recommend their pizza. Thin crust and oh so delicious! Their pasta dishes are excellent, as well! If you haven’t tried Mi Piaci, I highly recommend booking a table immediately! 👍

I haven't been to Mi Piace since Covid outbreak in March 2020. I missed it. Quality of food and service (both excellent) have not changed. Unfortunately, loud music also hasn't changed - not conducive to holding a conversation. Don't understand why most restaurants insist on playing loud music - don't they want their clientele to be able to talk while enjoying their meal?Or is the loud music meant to deincentivize diners from lingering so the restaurant can sit max diners for $$$?
