We've always had a great experience here but lately the prices are getting a little bit too pricey. I realize everything has changed within this past year but $23 for a drink. Since when??
The food is always good --- except that the Caesar salad was so sparse (and hardly anywhere near worth the price).
The ambiance is terribly bland and the food was pricey.
This was the second time I dined here with my parents. We visited this time to celebrate my birthday. It was busy but not overly crowded. I had the branzino in lemon vinaigrette.The fish was cooked to perfection. However, I was not expecting the fish to be served whole on the bone. Had I asked, I would have ordered something else. I wish the menu mentioned that it was a whole fish. Still, service was prompt and courteous. I would definitely recommend and return again.
Enjoyed good food and satisfying service, impressed by beautiful chandeliers , very nice birthday dessert presentation with fireworks-candle !
Sitting in the lounge area was very vibrant. The service was strained and slow due to the amount of people. The food didn't have the robust flavor we have been used to.
Overall we were happy to be together and enjoy the meal.

Came on a Sunday evening around 6:30. Ambience was nice. Outdoors towards golden hour. Food was okay for the price but chicken dinner presentation and sides made it feel small.
Biggest turnoff was service. Not sure if short staffed but felt our waitress sort of just disappeared and didn’t follow up with us. A server was the one to ask if we wanted to see a dessert menu (maybe they were helping out in that regards if it was short staffed). Waitress followed up and gave a second menu and we got the special. Pretty sure that’s just something in the fridge already so the long wait time on that to come out felt unwarranted. Same issue with waiting for the check.
Again, not bashing on the waitress directly as I don’t know the context of why there were delays but it was a frustration.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Kind of pricey- but the food was well worth it. A DJ spun terrible house music that loudly played in the dining area and it was a major drawback- hate having to yell across the table to have a normal conversation. But you CANNOT beat the food. I look forward to going back soon!
Lobster bisque was delicious. The ultimate Manhattan was also amazing. Overall a great evening.

I've dined at Mi Piace 200 times at least. This time I went for an old favorite: the ensalata di taos. So delicious I nearly finished it, even though it's huge. My guest had the pesto pasta and loved it. We'll be back.

Mi Piace has an inventive menu. I have been there are few times but not in the past ten years until recently. Our group was looking for a place that serves midday and outside. I spent some time deciding among a few choices and am very pleased with this one. We shared the Avocado Toast (see my photos), which was delicate and delicious. The bread was fresh, not stale, as were the croutons in the Caesar Salad, one of the best I have tried in awhile. There was freshly grated parmesan on it. The A-Toast was drizzled with a Balsamic vinegar reduction, delicious.
We tried a sampling of pastas including Linguine Pesto, Aglio Olio, and Farfalle Salmone. Each one was pasta sciutta, as it should be, slightly dry. All the sauces were excellent, light, delicate with great flavor. Mwah, Mi Piace!
After salads, appetizers, beverages (pictured here are the ice teas, one the Arnold Palmer with lemonade, the other quite floral), and pastas, it was hard to imagine having dessert at lunch. But, we forced ourselves and OMG, perfetti! We shared a Cheesecake Brulee that was the best I have ever had -- creamy and smooth, no cheese taste at all, and a thin candy-like crunch layer of torched sugar on top. The Midnight Fantasy -- not only a ganache layer, but a chocolate glaze that resembled glass. Presentation and quality are the highest. We all indulged in espressos that were flawless and a great afternoon pick-me-up.
However, the service was spotty. Our server, Sondra, was friendly but her presence was uneven. She forgot one of our desserts, twice. We had to take it to go because our usurious meter was running out. She did give us a nice big Mi Piace bag and containers and that somewhat made up for it. She also served one of us an espresso instead of the macchiato we ordered. But, it's still the covid nightmare era and I don't think Mi Piace used to serve outside, which does present an extra element of nuisance.
I would give this place a 4.5, and say, yes, I do love it (mi piace)!
Front waitress would not let us sit inside as that is reserved for their usual customers, not open table customer.. We are therefore sit at the road side with many potential Covit people walking next to the table. Clearly this is a violation of 6 foot distance rule. This is not safe!

Mi piace? Sorry...non mi piace. There is normally this special something about a pasta dish in an Italian restaurant that one cannot recreate at home--not here though. The tomato sauce was tart, the shrimp were overcooked. I can do better at home--not a good sign. My partner's lasagna was better, though had that sweet taste, common to mediocre, chain-restaurant-style sauces. Then the bread basket took three reminders--each time with clarification "small"--before it arrived, only to be listed on the bill "large." And the focaccia resembled more dried-up pita chips than freshly made. To cap it off, I came home to an upset stomach. Cannot recommend.

Food was very good, unfortunately service was subpar. The staff were huddled around near the kitchen instead of attending to the detailed needs of the 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant.
The food came out very timely , the staff failed to ask if we needed any e enhancements to our meal such as cheese, pepper etc. The waitress did what appeared to be an obligatory “is everything ok” as soon as we stared eating but did not top off our waters or ask if we wanted any additional beverages throughout the meal.
Once we were done they cleared our plates in seconds (quickest service of the evening.) The restaurant also had a very pungent fish odor which was less than appetizing. Overall, the experience was mediocre, but the food was fair. Perhaps I should have had a different menu item to allow for a better option of the food.
The food was great and service was great too. The girls are kind of picky with their food but everything was as expected !! The server was kind of rude needless to say we ordered a salad without avocado and he was annoyed when we told him salad was ordered without avocado. Our waiter was amazing though he made the night amazing since they were short staff he was still on top of it. So we tipped him knowing he deserved it !

Always one of my favorite places to dine. The food is creative and delicious, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Worth the drive to Pasadena...no matter where you are!
The service was very slow even with reservations. They took forever to take our order. Also, the food had no flavor. Absolutely bland. The only enjoyable thing was dessert.

The homemade pasta and fresh bread are worth the wait. Restaurant owner is on the frontline making sure everything flows. Prices aren't low, but quality never comes cheap.
