Lovely experience, staff was engaging and informative in the most enjoyable way. We’ll certainly be making a second trip here.
I love this place, it's small and doesn't have a ton of seats or a huge menu but most of it is good. I love the fried shrimp head personally. I also like the fact it's small plates so you can try a few things.
Absolutely delicious! The Tour of MFK is a must
This was unfortunately, one of the worst dining experiences we have had. MFK was hosting their sister restaurant employees for dinner, and the group was drunk, noisy, and very inappropriate. Two of the people from this group were falling over, to the point where one actually fell onto my husband while he was eating. While our server was polite and attentive, this group took over the small space and ruined our experience. We had traveled from DC so we were very disappointed. The manager or server did not comp anything nor did either apologize for what was one of the most awful (and honestly physically invasive) evenings. I plan to reach out to their team to let them know our feelings and strongly discourage others from attending.
The food was good but had very small portions plates.
This is such a great restaurant in lincoln park! The drinks and food were amazing and service was great. I highly recommend!
Food was good, and good service. It was not crowded but because it is small I can see it being loud at times. Definitely recommend!
I'm a restaurant junkie! This is one of my top three.
Always wonderful. Each dish has really great flavor.
We loved the friendly, welcoming, casual atmosphere at mfk, and look forward to returning soon. Our server was warm, knowledgeable about the dishes and portions, and professional. All 5 dishes we ordered were beautifully prepared, and there were many other options on the menu we want to try. We appreciated that the noise level allowed us to carry on conversation at our table. Thank you!
We have been recommended here by friends and are kicking ourselves for not making it in sooner. We tried seven dishes and loved all of them. Great flavor! Two of the dishes I can’t wait to go back and have again. I’ve already been spreading the word to friends to pay MFK a visit. We will be back!
Had a wonderful birthday dinner at cozy mfk.
I think the third times the charm! Our first time at MFK was great. The food was amazing and we left looking forward to our return. The second time, was kind of disappointing. The service was great per usual but the food didn't quite meet our expectations. Maybe we ordered wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing what our third visit will bring....
Love the food & service. Wines & cocktails are a good variety. Just wish they didn’t play music so loudly. It’s a small space that is barely conversation froendly.
Loved it. We’ve been several times and enjoy immensely.
This is my 3rd time at mfk and it is always worth every penny. The food is always phenomenal and the staff is beyond friendly. Definitely one of my fave spots on Chicago. Keep it up!
mfk is my favorite restaurant. I go there frequently, and it never disappoints
Found this place surfing the Internet. We loved the food and great wine selection. We will definitely go back.
Perfection. MFK is always a spectacular experience.
Superb Basque influenced menu, especially the seafood options. Cocktails are seasonal and excellent and the Basque cake delicious.
I was just searching for a good spot for lunch that had some Spain inspired dishes. mfk hits on all cylinders. The young chef creates delicious food with great balance and bright flavors, they offer a good selection of value priced wines, and the cocktails... wow! We ended up spending a couple of hours chatting with the owner and thoroughly enjoying our experience. This place has earned a spot on our list of regular stops when we are in Chi town.
Amazing food, dish after dish. Highlights were the crunchy prawn heads and the roasted cauliflower. Great service at table and bar.
Food is amazing! Very flavorful and delicious. It’s a small restaurant and tables are pretty close together.
Excellent as always. Very special place.
While the food continues to be creative and outstanding, this is NOT a place to dine in the frigid weather in Chicago. Located below street level, with most tables poorly protected from drafts howling through the front door, it is difficult to keep this place at anywhere close to a comfortable room temperature. On top of that, the music system was blaring at a ridiculous level, making conversation next to impossible.
Perhaps the intention here is to discourage older diners in favor of a younger, hip crowd that is willing to put up with these inconveniences. In any case, we will wait at least until the spring to return here.
Love bringing out-of-town / out-of-country friends here - they're always surprised and delighted by the ambience and the menu. Owners & staff are swell, welcoming people.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! Let them choose menu items for you and enjoy yourself. The ceviche is unbelievable!
Quite possibly my favorite spot in Chicago. Great service, unique dishes, and cozy/clean ambiance. Love everything about mfk and recommend to everyone who loves seafood and trying new things.
This was a great surprise. We actually went to the wrong restaurant. It was a business dinner and someone got the initials of the restaurant wrong. So we ended up at MFK...and I'm glad we did. The hangar steak was superb. Croquettes that you could gorge on all night. Loved the goat and veal meatballs. Everything is 'sharable' sized.
Awesome and delicious as always. I always recommend MFK to everyone I know
Outstanding small, intimate dining with excellent food and cocktails in Lincoln Park. The offerings were unique and very tasty, and the service was focused on right on with the timing. mfk will definitely be on our Chicago dining list next time in the City.
Never disappointing!! Creative menu and great service! We live close by, so it's our favorite Friday getaway!
Quaint location serving Spanish style tapas and small plates featuring great seafood. Super fun and friendly service, well chosen wines to match the cuisine and all at a reasonable price point.
Amazingly delicious and inventive food.
Food and service were fantastic. Loved all of the items we ordered. Food was full of flavor and creativity. My biggest and only complaint that will keep me from returning regularly is the cost. For a tapas menu it was about $18 per item. You need to order 4-6 items to make it worth your while. Not exactly worth it....
I love everything about this little gem of a resto. Bright flavors, great textures, unexpected ingredient combinations that really work well, impeccably sourced ingredients, inventive cuisine that’s never pretentious or precious, just plate-licking delicious. I love to bring out of towners. Also appreciate the charming cozy ambience, friendly welcoming staff, smart off-the-grid wine list, whimsical cocktails. I enjoy your playful playlist, but appreciated it being turned down for the comfort of my guests. The only thing missing was wonderful owners Sari & Scott - always enjoy chatting with them.
Everything is always good but the crunchy prawn heads are amazing and you can't find them anywhere else in Chicago. It is very hard to choose what to eat because the whole menu is perfect. The chicken was so perfectly done, the whole fish was wonderful and the cocktail drinks are very creative.
Food was unimpeachable- truly phenomenal.
Very impressed with overall food and drink. Staff was informative and attentive. Would highly recommend .
We enjoyed all the dishes we had, especially the grilled octopus which sat on a bed of the most delicious pumpkin seed/cilantro hummus. The almond cake we had for dessert was even better than it sounded: not at all dry with a delicious rum ribbon running through it. Service was excellent and since we were there at lunch, it was quiet and relaxing. Will definitely be back.
