MF Sushi- Atlanta
Great food and service! Everything was soooooo delicious!! The cocktails and wine selection was phenomenal.
I love MF Sushi. It's a little pricey, but probably standard to slightly above average for sushi restaurants. The atmosphere is great. I felt a little weird with a group of 4 there, since it can often be a quiet restaurant and we can get kind of rowdy, but it filled up later in the evening, and our noise level wasn't out of place at all when that happened.
The food is delicious. We got some shishito peppers that were great. I also had the spicy tuna roll and eel roll. I wish I had gotten some tuna sashimi because I recall getting it before and it was the freshest-tasting tuna I've ever had.
MF Sushi is a great date spot, or a great place to go with a friend or a small group. I wouldn't recommend coming with more than 4 people total. I think they could handle it, but I think it would kind of mess up the vibe a bit, and I know I'd be a little embarrassed to do that. This time, I went for my birthday because MF Sushi (along with O-Ku) is one of my two top sushi places in Atlanta.
Always the best sushi and sake in the ATL.
I love the Baked lobster tempura
Great choice for a special night out. Finally found excellent sushi in ATL but you will pay for it. Need to get some more comfortable chairs facing the comfortable bench! Will definitely be coming back.
Food was incredible but service was very poor. Would totally recommend MF Sushi was just a shame to have poor service.
Food was amazing! Environment wasn’t quite what I expected, was hoping for a more intimate date setting and it was pretty busy when we arrived so it was noisier than I would have liked.
Been a long time MF fan! Great food and great staff! Thanks for an enjoyable experience.
Excellent food and choices. Everything was delicious. The place was in general too dark for 7:00 PM and for sure too loud (not the fault of the business)
Had an 8pm reservation, but our table wasn’t ready until 830, which was an annoying way to start the meal. Everything else about the experience was a very enjoyable.
Great quality sea food at a reasonable price.
Legit sushi and Japanese cuisine in Atlanta! Having just been transplanted here from NYC and also having spent a month in Japan eating my way around the country, I am so happy to have found this gem! The front of house staff were welcoming and sat us immediately. I was pleasantly surprised by the setup and modern yet warm ambiance of the space. We sat at the bar and the server was very attentive and friendly. Now the food: we started with the crab miso soup which was the perfect balance of comfort and luxury! The chunks of snow crab were impressive. The tuna ball appetizer with avocado and TRUFFLE mouse topped with caviar was one of the best highlights! All the nigiri we had was on point and the grilled hamachi was absolutely decadent! We are definitely coming back and expect to be regulars here!!!
I ordered the MF Lychee drink. It smelled so bad and the taste was even worse. However when I told the waitress she immediately made the new drink and it was much better. Maybe the lychee was expired. After this the drink taste so much better.
Everything I ordered was amazing. The sushi is MF good!!! If the sushi was cheaper I would spend even more money.
Great quality fish, prepared expertly. Unfortunately, the service wasn't on par with the food. Items came out of sequence, drinks took half an hour to show up. Seems to be decently inconsistent, since some tables were seated after us, served, and left, while others seemed to have long waits between items.
MF Sushi never disappoints. It was a busy Friday evening, but the service was good. Their tuna app. with cavier and truffles is amazing.
Great Sushi. You can always appreciate sushi when you go to a place like this.
Accommodated my 16 people party seamlessly, added additional people last minute. Really did a great job making it work for us. Food here is always excellent! Thanks to Sarah who also texted me to offer her support should I need anything, much easier than having to call in or wait for an email reply. Thanks so much MF!
I love this restaurant. We came to celebrate a big occasion. The food was AMAZING. I would totally come back. We had the sushi, the drinks, and the wagyu (3 ways). Every bite was delicious.
Good was good, but service was slow. The waitress kept pushing more expensive appetizers. When food was delayed she suggested that we get another appetizer that is faster you serve!
Great experience and sushi, loved the avocado ball with truffle
So much fun! Great food.
Fabulous location, delicious food, great drinks, attentive staff, wonderful experience! Perfect for a date night or business meeting alike.
The food and ambiance is always great! Customer service is good and reservations are pretty easy to make.
Not easy to find. But worth it once you do. Had to pay for parking also.
Always fantastic! Incredible menu with very creative twist.
We had a good time and we did Omakase. Was definitely worth it. We had lots of sushi (more than 10 small plates!), a cooked plate, and dessert! We will be back.
Had an amazing time! Service was amazing!! Danny was awesome he was super friendly!
I don't understand all the rave reviews for this place. The service was good, however, the sushi is mediocre at best. The restaurant is extremely noisy as well. This place definitely didn't live up to the hype.
The fish didn’t taste very fresh. The dishes were nothing special for the price. It was actually worse than NYC sushi takeout I was surprised , it was such poor quality.
I would have given give MG sushi 5 stars before my most recent visit. Service was terrible. Nothing was brought out together, and we waited over 2 hours to complete our meal on a half empty Wednesday night. Food was just ok. The sky high prices added insult to injury. A special occasion for my child’s 17th birthday ruined. Will not be going back.
MF is always a go-to for delicious sushi and never disappoints! Service time could improve, but the food is well worth the wait.
Had a lovely client dinner the other day. Food was outstanding, service amazing and owner lovely.
Understaffed. Too loud.
It's the best sushi I have had in Atlanta. Without question. It's pricey. But you get what you pay for. Delicious!
Wonderful experience for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be back.
We have eaten sushi all over the world, at many of the top restaurants and MF Sushi is among the best we've had! Not only is there a wonderful ambience and service, but the food was incredible. We will definitely visit again as well as recommend to our friends.
Management takes pride in attention to detail as does the sushi team. The omakase was a wonderful experience.
Had Otoro for the first time and it was great!
We had an 1130 am reservation for lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived at 1130 the restaurant was still closed. When we knocked on the door to the main entrance between 1130 and 1140, no one answered the door. When we called the main number to the restaurant between 1140 and 1150, no one answered the call. When we finally prepared to leave, we noticed a side door was open. We peeked inside and found a single restaurant employee prepping to open. We informed him that we had an 1130 reservation and had been waiting for over 20 minutes. He neither apologized or offered any idea of when they would be ready. He simply said, “Well we aren’t open yet”.
So we left and had lunch at the Korean BBQ spot, Char, next door.
The food at MF sushi (as best I can recall) was typically excellent. However the service has always been inconsistent at best, and at their worst (as here) is simply unacceptable. I won’t return. I’d rather spend my money at one of the other excellent Japanese restaurants in this city where my patronage is valued and where there Management and service staff have a basic understanding of what it means to run a restaurant. Rule 1: be open when you are supposed to be open. Rule 2: be courteous to restaurant guests.
Good food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
I sometimes question why we keep returning to restaurants. Is it the food…the service...the panache? Or just a relentless desire to prove they can do better. MF Sushi is one of those restaurants that you know can do better, yet they cannot seem to get out of their own way in one or aspects of each visit.
The latest two issues were the host(ess) and the size of the nigiri. On the last visit we were punished with the rear room and they told us we needed to request the sushi bar room when we reserve. This time I did, not only specifying the room, but also stating I did NOT want the back room. When we arrived, they immediately took us to the rear room, while the front room had only one table occupied. We politely asked to be seated in the room we requested.
The server this time was top notch. She knew the menu, was polite, the food arrived as expected and she was pleasant throughout. The food was very good, but the size of the nigiri was minuscule, borderline embarrassing. The scant amount of wasabi confirmed the chef was punishing us for something. Was this the result of our desire to eat in the room as requested? Do not know.
While the food was excellent, the overall experience is making it difficult to return.
