MF Sushi- Atlanta
Had a lovely client dinner the other day. Food was outstanding, service amazing and owner lovely.
Understaffed. Too loud.
It's the best sushi I have had in Atlanta. Without question. It's pricey. But you get what you pay for. Delicious!
Wonderful experience for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be back.
We have eaten sushi all over the world, at many of the top restaurants and MF Sushi is among the best we've had! Not only is there a wonderful ambience and service, but the food was incredible. We will definitely visit again as well as recommend to our friends.
Management takes pride in attention to detail as does the sushi team. The omakase was a wonderful experience.
Had Otoro for the first time and it was great!
We had an 1130 am reservation for lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived at 1130 the restaurant was still closed. When we knocked on the door to the main entrance between 1130 and 1140, no one answered the door. When we called the main number to the restaurant between 1140 and 1150, no one answered the call. When we finally prepared to leave, we noticed a side door was open. We peeked inside and found a single restaurant employee prepping to open. We informed him that we had an 1130 reservation and had been waiting for over 20 minutes. He neither apologized or offered any idea of when they would be ready. He simply said, “Well we aren’t open yet”.
So we left and had lunch at the Korean BBQ spot, Char, next door.
The food at MF sushi (as best I can recall) was typically excellent. However the service has always been inconsistent at best, and at their worst (as here) is simply unacceptable. I won’t return. I’d rather spend my money at one of the other excellent Japanese restaurants in this city where my patronage is valued and where there Management and service staff have a basic understanding of what it means to run a restaurant. Rule 1: be open when you are supposed to be open. Rule 2: be courteous to restaurant guests.
Good food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
I sometimes question why we keep returning to restaurants. Is it the food…the service...the panache? Or just a relentless desire to prove they can do better. MF Sushi is one of those restaurants that you know can do better, yet they cannot seem to get out of their own way in one or aspects of each visit.
The latest two issues were the host(ess) and the size of the nigiri. On the last visit we were punished with the rear room and they told us we needed to request the sushi bar room when we reserve. This time I did, not only specifying the room, but also stating I did NOT want the back room. When we arrived, they immediately took us to the rear room, while the front room had only one table occupied. We politely asked to be seated in the room we requested.
The server this time was top notch. She knew the menu, was polite, the food arrived as expected and she was pleasant throughout. The food was very good, but the size of the nigiri was minuscule, borderline embarrassing. The scant amount of wasabi confirmed the chef was punishing us for something. Was this the result of our desire to eat in the room as requested? Do not know.
While the food was excellent, the overall experience is making it difficult to return.
Enjoyed the experience and the fish was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Food was amazing and well executed, it was my first time dining at MF and it will not be the last, it was the best sushi I had since I lived in NYC, all around it was a great dining experience.
Great place to celebrate my graduate with delicious food and drinks. Our server was very helpful in picking out our choices and dealing with my dad's terrible jokes.
The atmosphere is lovely. Traditionally quiet Japanese. The fish was quite good and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the specialty nigiri. We tried one of everything and loved almost all of them. The only complaint we have is that there was a tad too much soy on each piece. They were dripping as we moved the pieces from table to mouth and there were tiny puddles of sauce on the tray which was not only a little unpleasant, it made the seasoning just a little out of balance with the fish.
The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. It was a little noisier than I'd like but other than that, it was the perfect experience.
So, this place is pricey. However, the sushi is some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The five of us shared a couple of apps, a couple of specialty rolls (one cooked, one raw) and two regular rolls. Everything was excellent. I especially liked that the rolls were cut into pieces thin enough that you can put an entire piece in your mouth without stuffing it full, and that the nori was so fresh you could actually bite through it. I’ll go back for sure.
Food was delicious, best sushi i’ve had in Atlanta for sure. The vibe was really relaxed, nice music, good to take someone on a date or to celebrate a special occasion. Will be coming back for sure.
Miss chef Danny
Love this place! Best sushi in Atlanta. Baked lobster to die for!
I have never seen such presentation with fish scales that danced on the heated plate, amazing, estehtically pleasing and quality of fish was impeccable
It's always the bomb.
Extremely pricey but food is worth it
Really excellent sushi; a bit pricey and smaller portions compared to other places I go. But even though I can't make it my go-to because of the price points, the food and ambiance are just excellent.
It was very good taste and reasonable. I recommend to wait a little bit more time to clear up dishes. We were still working to eat.
We had a lovely time and ate at the sushi bar
The signature nigiri selection as well as the avocado mousse balls were highlights of our meal.
There sushi rolls options were also wonderful.
Only issue was that service was a little slow we didn’t see our waitress that much.
I would definitely return
The food and freshness of the sushi is phenomenal. I think the smaller plates are very expensive and small in size, but I still really enjoy them. The avocado balls are now smaller and I think they now only serve 2 per order, where I remember that three used to. I would still like some better choices on Maki, the combinations are good but would like less spicy tuna/salmon as their central focus.
While I wrote a great review last October, the service has deteriorated since that time. The service is now to a point over the last few visits that it affected our meal. Tonight, our server was very nice but neglected to place half the order. The sushi plates were delivered and not all of them were. When we were finished with half the order, he asked if we wanted more. We told him we did not receive what we ordered. Quickly one came, but the other never arrived. The other two visits had different but just as bad service.
As much as I like the food, unless the service returns to acceptable it will be hard to keep in the rotation.
Great sushi! A little pricey. Service was really slow and the chef forgot to make one of our appetizers. I would recommend if you are looking for great sushi in Atlanta.
Delicious food, even tastier drinks! Courteous and professional service, I will return sooner than later ❤️❤️
Awesome experience. Best Sushi in town! The service was on point and prompt. The food was amazing showcasing the skills of theChef.
The food was delicious - very fresh and creative flavors! The servers were friendly and pretty attentive for a busy Saturday evening. They were unfortunately out of the wine that we ordered from the menu which was a bit disappointing. The one stall bathrooms made for lines which was a bit frustrating.
Terrible acoustics in the restaurant. Sushi was average. Losing its luster.
Very nice restaurant in an upscale setting. Fresh seafood and excellent service. What more could you ask for?
Love this place! Amazing food! Loud club vibe so don’t come here for deep conversation-come for great food and fun.
The food was great as always. The reason I read it this overall poor is because at the end of the night when it came time to pay the server informed us that the restaurant no longer excepted cash. This should have been made clear at the beginning of the evening. I feel like that is extremely unprofessional for any establishment to not except cash and not make that plainly clear to the guests upon their arrival. When the server informed us and saw our shock he was not even vaguely unapologetic or concerned. Everyone does not have credit cards OR would prefer her not to use them for dinner and this could have been a bigger mess if that was the case in my situation. Very poor on the restaurant and the server’s part.I will not be back.
Love this place. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the customer service is warm and friendly. Would recommend this place in a flash!
Creative and delicious sushi! Really enjoyed! Would definitely recommend. Cool vibe for sure.
Great meal - amazing sushi and cooked items. Service was very good. The only negative thing was the volume - it was SO LOUD in there. I am normally a fan of busy, loud places - this reached the point where we couldn't hear each other across the table.
Our server led us through menu selections, and the food did not disappoint! We’ll definitely be returning.
Solid sushi and server, but for the price point, I'll go to Umi or other restaurants in town in the future. We wanted to splurge for Valentine's Day, but were informed once we were seated no omakase in spite of making a reservation for omakase. Would've been nice to have been alerted this wasn't an option before we came, or at least tell us in advance there's a chance it wouldn't happen (I made res on OpenTable and also called to verify we were set for omakase, a gentleman said no problem). Was our first time here, and just didn't feel like a 5 star experience for the amount of money we planned on spending.
Sushi was solid, but again, a notch below other spots in town for the same price.
Great sushi, great service. Tables are high chairs are low.
