Japanese
MF Sushi, the brainchild of Alex and Chris Kinjo, has been a pioneer for Japanese cuisine since its inception in 2000. The brothers opened their first concept, MF Sushi, in Midtown Atlanta on Ponce de Leon Ave. The restaurant's success led to the opening of MF Sushi-Buckhead and MF Room expanding their footprint to Houston where they continue to garner celebrated recognition. The creativity behind MF Sushi birthed brilliant dishes, from the beautifully hand-crafted appetizers to the famous MF Signature Nigiri plates, to rolls packed with a myriad of flavors as well as Robata Grill options where your fresh food is grilled at your table using the traditional Japanese binchotan. The restaurant's perennial popularity and devoted following are a tribute to the Kinjo brothers that their own spin on traditional sushi partnered with the contemporary, flirtatious and simply stunning design of the restaurant space is unrivaled. My two friends and I sat at the bar and Icey (not sure on spelling) waited on us and was an absolute pleasure. She gave us great suggestions and we had a great time talking with her. The food was absolutely amazing as well as the cocktails and sake. Overall had an amazing experience!

Amazing! The quality has not suffered one bit because of the COVID lockdown. Maybe my best meal and experience at my favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta.

It's a little on the pricey side when to compare the size to the cost. And their specialty Nigiri is pricy also. But its very good.

We went for our anniversary and were so excited to eat out for the 1st time without our baby and after quarantine. We had a 7pm reservation and it appeared they were keeping everyone distanced but while we were there they continued to seat more and more tables until the place was almost full and tables were next to each other and back to back! The bar was FULL when we left. And their service was still very slow as it’s always been. We only had one drink each because no one came back to get us another one before we finished our entire meal. Just a disappointment.

It was good. Not gonna rave about it but not gonna hate on it either. The food was good but I felt I was paying more for the location than the food. The decor is getting old and falling apart ... the drinks were good.

One of our appetizers never came. Ordered a cocktail before any food and it did not arrive until after finishing all 8 dishes. Nobody ever came to refill our water glasses. Waitress did not address extremely slow service. Very loud and crowded, people at tables next to us were less than 12 inches away. For the price, this was a pretty bad experience and will likely not return.

Love MF Sushi, been going for over 15 years. The sushi is outstanding and atmosphere is amazing. You will not be disappointed but if you are looking for cheap sushi this is not your place.

Wow! Incredible dining experience. We ordered nearly every nigiri special on the menu, each one was unique and delicious. Service was friendly, and couldn’t be happier with the meal overall. The cocktails are also very creative and expertly crafted

MF used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. After my experience last night, I will probably never go back. My reservation was on a Friday at 7:15. I should have just left when I walked in as they were not following any CDC guidelines except for the staff wearing masks and gloves (which they don't change after handling dirty dishes). We were given the normal menus they use which have a cloth material on the cover. After we sat down, the table across from us got up and the staff used a regular wet rag to wipe it off; there was no disinfectant used! The drinks were terrible and we didn't get our appetizer until 45 minutes after getting there. We didn't even wait for the sushi and left. On leaving, the bar area was packed shoulder to shoulder. There was no social distancing implemented at all. Lastly and worst of all, the owner who is always there, was just sitting at a table oblivious to the whole situation. I am a healthcare provider and am really shocked that such a good restaurant has no concerns about the health and safety of their clients and staff.

Only downside was that it took about 45
Minutes for us to be seated for our 9am reservation. It also took a long time for the food to come out, but it was really good. The server was nice and attentive as she could but you can tell everyone was in the weeds.

I think it was a good meal but was slightly overpriced for taste of sushi rolls and what you get. I would say the $18-$19 rolls are more like $14-$15 rolls max. Your basically paying for the ambiance, service, and overall location. So not to put them down as it was a very good experience I just felt the rolls were slightly overpriced but as mentioned not by much . I even think one of the rolls had 2 pieces of sushi and was still like $18 so that one def is. They were good but not that good. So if you want an overall quality experience then this is great spot but if your a bit more of a sushi foodie and want rolls that you feel really good about after you fork over $50-$60 per person then this may not be for you that day.
