Mezzo - Dublin Ratings and Reviews
Our overall experience was good! The two things that stood out is that Mezzo stores highchairs in the upstairs bathroom. I find that to be disgusting! Also, the flat iron steak my husband ordered was below his expectations, but everyone else at the table was satisfied with their meals.
Mezzo is high on my list of favorite restaurants. their food and service are consistently good. The upstairs seating ambience is great because it is away from the bar and is less noisy when the bar is busy and allows for better conversation. Happy hour food and prices are great and i go there often with friends. in nice weather, the outdoor patio dining is also great.
We dined with my mom, her boyfriend and our toddler. We were set up in the perfect booth for our large party and the table was ready upon arrival. Food was good, drinks were as well and our waiter, Anthony, was very friendly. The only aspect that could've been handled better was that our appetizer, my salad and our dinners all showed up within 10 minutes of each other. I had here plates of food in front of me at once. I prefer to have the apps, salad and dinner more spaced out through the evening.
Atmosphere and service was great. Any dish with red sauce was fairly bland. Carbonara, pizza, parmigiana all tasteless. Steak looked good and was like by the person who ordered it. The others at the table said their dinners were presented well but lacked flavor.
Great look To the place. Most of the dining was upstairs and the bar scene downstairs. I liked that. Our food was delicious even though it took a while. The server and manager both apologized and gave us dessert. I was here with girlfriends; I'll have to bring my husband back.
My family and I dine out frequently. Mezzo is one of our favorite restaurants. Excellent food and service. The General manager Michael Haller has a hands on approach and takes pride in making sure that all guests enjoy their visit. It was just a wonderful experience.
They were a little slow last night compared to previous visits, but we weren't in a hurry and the food is so delicious that I won't hold it against them. The arancini appetizer, basically fried risotto balls, is delicious and comes with marinara sauce for dipping. The salads are pretty good as well. But my favorite thing on the menu is the garganelli alla vodka! The sausage has the right amount of heat to it, that it really kicks the dish up a notch. And the vodka sauce is on point and not too heavy. Mezzo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Columbus.
Portions on the small side for the prices. Lobster ravioli was tasty and the Eggplant Parm was good. The lamb was cooked well but the creamy polenta was not-so-creamy and more solid gel state, as was the gravy- too gelatinous for my liking. No leftovers of worth to bring home from any 3 dishes, though we did leave satisfied.
Entertained friends who came thru town en-route from the Republic of Texas to other locations. Patio seating on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We had a great experience at one of our faves in Dublin... they went on their way very impressed with the town, location, wine, food, service. Gnocci/pesto, Scallops/risotto, and petite pizza were served hot and perfectly prepared. Ask for Alex as your server, he's aces.
The atmosphere was nice, we arrived at 5:30 so there was practically no one there. During or visit the Coffman Homecomings was that night so well dressed young adults started arriving.
Was a little surprised there was no complementary bread at the table. We ordered a glass of wine that was very good. The shareable was interesting, bruschetta was soggy with the tomato pesto was very thick and wet and difficult to eat unless with a fork.
The dinner was good, about average for a pasta dish. The problem was if I had to choose between the 4 or 5 dining places in that area I would probably not pick this as my 2 or 3 choice price and food wise.
I all likelihood I will go back for a lunch, but the limited and slightly unusual menu will keep me from make it a regular dining choice.
I took my college age son and his girlfriend here for dinner. The service was very good, and I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because my salad was forgotten and never brought to the table, but I wasn't charged for it, so it was fine. We shared one appetizer - the rice balls, and they were delicious. I had the gnocchi prepared with pesto, peas, asparagus and sun dried tomatoes. It was fantastic and a perfect sized portion. My son had chicken parm over orchietti pasta and loved his dish also. The seating was cozy and the room very comfortable with dark wood, nice lighting and heavy drapes. We will return!
