Mezzanotte Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We hoped to have a quiet night out to relax after the holidays but there were several large groups celebrating and we were seated rather close to the singer/guitar player so it wasn't quiet. We often order escargot and have had some excellent variations at other local spots but were disappointed in them here. That said, enjoyed the appetizer serving of risotto and the chicken Marsala was excellent. Overall, we'd rate the experience good but not outstanding.
After going downtown to one of the hot new restaurants, dining at Mezzanotte was like coming home. Greeted by the songs of Sinatra and Valli (can't remember the singers name but he was excellent), we were then treated to a night of wonderful Italian cuisine served by a friendly and attentive wait staff. The Sole Piccata never disappoints....my wife loves it; I had the veal chop and had to share it with everyone...simply delicious! The bananas foster served tableside was spot on as was the creme brûlée. If you're in NW Houston, Spring, Tomball, Cypress, or anywhere near by try Mezzanotte instead of driving downtown.....you'll love it!
I was not familiar with Mezzanotte, but when I was looking for a restaurant on Open Table in a certain part of town I noticed that there were a lot of good reviews for it. And, that is for a reason. My wife and I (as well as the couple we were meeting for dinner) are picky about where we eat, and we all agreed that Mezzanotte was great. From the beginning bread and dip all the way through desert, everything was excellent -- the service (good job Lilly), the preparation, presentation and taste of the food, and the quietness. They have a good (but not overwhelming) wine selection and very reasonably priced. The entertainment (singer) was like nice background music -- very good and not loud. Even though it is about a 45 minute drive for us we will be going back.
I’ve known of this restaurant for years but just tried it as my daughter and I celebrated my birthday. I was very impressed with every aspect of our meal. Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Exceptionally clean. The wine was excellent and everything we ate was very enjoyable. To top things off the live music was amazing. Kevin Michael Weushaar was so good I thought he was the music system playing through the restaurant. Nice singing skills and perfect sound level. He didn’t overpower the place.
I live in Dallas and come to Houston to see my daughter. I will definitely be back and I plan to tell my friends in the area. I’m just disappointed I didn’t try this place much sooner.
Our table was ready when we got there. The restaurant was nice and quiet. Service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. The one pet peeve I have at restaurants is my drink not being refilled or having to search for the server to ask for a refill. This did not happen here though. Drinks were refilled and we were checked on as well which I appreciate. I will definitely being revisiting.
We have been fans of Mezzanotte for years. Sadly, we just left the Houston area and will miss the restaurant. Terribly. The occasion for this dinner was to take neighbors as sort of a goodbye event. Adriana and Gerry did not disappoint. One guest had the Sole and announced it was probably the best fish meal she'd ever had! The service was fast, efficient and accurate. The wine list is extremely reasonable and carefully designed.
I miss the restaurant already!
I'm not from that part of the world and was looking for a nice dining experience. Well, I found it in a this gem. I highly recommend. Setting...early evening...quiet. Food was top notch, on point. Wine was very good and reasonably priced. Wish I was in the area more often....
I was meeting a friend to catch up, and asked for a quiet table condusive to conversation, when I made the Open Table reservation.
The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but the hostess immediately tried to seat us right next to the kitchen door. I asked to be directed to a different table, to which the hostess eventually resistantly complied. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I would say that owners might want to re-train this hostess. I will definitely be back to enjoy this lovely little neighborhood gem.
