Mezza Luna Restaurant, "half moon" in Italian, is located in the historic Princeton Landing Building (circa 1908). The harbor town of Princeton by the Sea is located 20 miles south of San Francisco on Highway 1. In this scenic area of Half Moon Bay, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, you can experience breathtaking coastal views and marvel at the giant waves of Mavericks. Opened in the Summer of 1993, Mezza Luna continues to create an eating environment which provides the highest quality of meat, fish, produce, pizza and pasta. All with a contemporary Southern Italian flair.

Pleasantly surprised, food was Excellent! This was our second visit, first about a year ago was MEH.
Loved the fireplace room - very cozy. Definitely will dine again at Mezza Luna!

Went here for valentines day. Was notified at 9pm the night before the menu was going to be prix fixe $65 per person. This made me wary because this was a lot more expensive than normal menu but it was too late to find a different place. The food ended up well below average and atrocious for the price. The appetizer was basically a few pieces of charcuterie. The veal was subpar and a very small portion. The mashed potatoes reminded me of those from school lunch. The tiramisu was merely average. The best way to put it, I’ve had better meals at Olive Garden for a quarter of the price.

My boyfriend and I were forced to order the 65 per person fixed menu, and was told we could not order from the regular menu. This was not mentioned on open table or yelp. That should be an option not forced upon your customers. The food was terrible. Wanted to order pizza and other items from the menu. Caesar salad was wilted and old. Lasagna was awful as well. Desserts were low quality and small. The service was lacking. They added a 20% gratuity for the 2 of us that was ridiculous, don’t know how this place gets such high ratings.

We are coast locals and Mezzaluna is our go-too place. Service is great, drinks are made well and not skimpy, and the food is always good. Casual dinning at its best with a lot of old-school charm delivered by an excellent staff.

Exceptionally good fresh fish special! One in our party is Italian and loved your pasta dishes!

Menu was very nice with a wide variety of choices although we would have loved to see more fresh fish, and not so many frozen fish entrees given that the restaurant is right on the water in northern California (and just a few shops away in the harbor from the fresh fish market where the fishermen bring in their fresh catch).

Service was excellent. Noise level was a bit loud due to the large parties in the next room without a way to close off that area.

Overall, very nice experience and would recommend!

The service here was terrible. We had a reservation for 6:30 for a special occasion birthday dinner. We were sat right away but it took 30 min to get our drinks. They finally took our order but we never got any bread. After waiting a full hour we were finally served dinner. The food was very good so that was the only positive part of the experience. They did bring my husband cannolis with a candle and sang happy birthday which was nice. The rest of us passed on dessert as we figured we'd be there another half hour and we weren't willing to wait. The check came and they convienantly added in their own tip so we were not able to tip accordingly.

We had the insalata caprese which was good, but, the tomatoes were on the firmer side. Other than that this dish was delicious. I had the penne alla calabrese and it was wonderful with the sausage made and cooked to perfection. My friend had gamberi alla Roberto and the shrimp and sauce were scrupulous. Service is always top notch and the setting is always welcoming and relaxing.

The restaurant was quiet and clean. The waiters were friendly and attentive. The seafood was fresh and delicious, and portion size was perfect for a filling lunch. The bread was warm and tasty. I am so glad we stumbled on this quaint restaurant.

I come off into Mezzaluna restaurant. I like to order the Mezzaluna enchilada, but this time I was really disappointed in the salad very little flavor you need to change up the lettuce hearts of Romaine maybe some iceberg I don't really like the lettuce that's in there reminds me of stickers i weeds in my front yard.. my father and his lady friend have the calamari and they said it was very tasty.

We were able to move out reservation up because our schedule changed. The hostess was very helpful got us a table early.

My favorite place to eat in Princeton. The food is consistently good. Be sure to make a reservation so you don't have to wait. It can get very busy as it is, deservedly, a very popular place to dine.

We went to Meza Luna for a birthday lunch. We asked for a window table, and we received. We ordered a glass of wine and some garlic bread to start and also placed our order. The wine clams but no garlic bread. No server came back to our table until our main dish arrived. We found out that the garlic bread was sent to another table. We told the waiter about the garlic bread and about 5 minutes later we received an order of mushy garlic bread. The cooks hurried our order and did not cook it properly.
We ordered pasta dishes. They were delicious. When I made the reservation I asked that a lava cake be served for the birthday dessert. This dessert takes about 20 minutes, and I wanted to make sure the lava cake was started when we placed our order. NO LAVA CAKE WAS MADE,! I was very disappointed, as the birthday person really enjoyed Lava cake. It was too late to place the order after the meal was done. We settled for a dish of Italian ice cream. I have been to Meza Luna a number of times and have always found the food and the service to be wonderful. I was disappointed this time in both. I will, however give Meza Luna another try.

This is my favorite place to take clients and my wife hands down! I highly recommend it! The Gnocci and calamari are my favorites! The service is top notch, the owners are approachable and friendly.
